This 1966 Chevrolet K10 is FACTORY ORIGINAL and has been in my family since the late-1960s. It needs restoration but drive it while you do so!. My grandfather bought it from the original owner's widow. I was with him when he drove it home. I have the protecto-plate and the build sheet is still behind the seat. It has a strong-running 292 6cyl and 4 speed. Warn Hubs and I think a Spicer system underneath, but I'm no expert. You will notice I took photos under the hood when it was running. You can see there is a dealer-installed generator with a pto that once went to a wench. Also, there is a dealer-installed spot light. Everything works as it should. It has 72,XXX miles on it, but when grandpa died in 1991 and I titled it in my name, the DMV insisted that it had to show 172,XXX because the odometer only went to 99,999!!! They did the same thing to me with my 1965 F100 with 51,000 - can't beat city hall. Just look at the pictures of the pedals and floor mat at the accelerator and you can tell it has not been driven that far. It has rust on the fenders (apparently Chevrolet wanted that to happen because they ALL have it). The driver's cab corner has one small spot, and the passenger cab corner looks good (the green paint is rustoleum - mom's idea). On the passenger side underneath is a small rust spot on the rail to the cab support but can be fixed easily - see photo. All the cab supports look good. Also, the passenger door has some rust on bottom. Both rockers are good. It has surface rust elsewhere but nothing major. The wood in the bed appears good but grandpa put diamond plate over it so no guarantees, but I took a photo from underneath so you can sort of see it is in tact. The seat needs to be re-done and the tail gate has a slight bow from weight. The front bed rail is straight. It needs a new muffler. I have replaced the heater motor, ignition switch, head lights, tail lights and lens, the battery and cables, all the hoses, and put a new front drive line on because the slip yolk on the original was sloppy. It is licensed and I am driving it. Obviously it needs restoration, but this is the best start that you will find and the ones that are done are going for 30k plus. I live in Elko, Nevada and am right off of Interstate 80 so I can deliver the truck to you at the freeway to your car hauler or I can store the vehicle for you for a couple of weeks. This thing has (I think) 488 gearing so it is not a freeway machine. The lucky winner can put down a $500 deposit on Paypal and give the rest in cash. Money orders or checks will have to clear before I release the vehicle to you so expect two weeks delay if you go that route. If you win the auction and put down a deposit and when you come to pick up the truck, if it is not as described I will return your deposit and I will contact the next highest bidder. You can call me at 480-540-7633 with any questions or if you want additional pictures or to chat about the truck's condition. Communicate, communicate, communicate. Lots of pictures but Ebay only let me post 24. Don't bid unless you are serious, you have the means to get the truck shipped or pick it up yourself, and you can pay for it. Finally, I reserve the right to end the auction early because the truck if for sale locally. However, I won't end the auction early if there is a bid on the truck. Thanks, and good luck.

GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect
Tue, 17 Aug 20102010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.
GM recalling 15k midsize pickups over leaky brakes
Mon, Jun 8 2015General Motors has announced a recall in coordination with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration related to the brakes on the 2015 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. In the 14,838 units in the United States estimated to be affected, the front brake calipers may be leaking fluid. Needless to say, that could make them less effective, which could hinder the vehicle's ability to stop in time to avoid a collision. The affected units were all manufactured between January 6 and December 24, 2014. The fix seems simple and straightforward enough, with dealers being instructed to inspect the front brake calipers, and replace them if necessary. See below for all the details from NHTSA. RECALL Subject : Brake Fluid Leak Report Receipt Date: MAY 12, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V278000 Component(s): SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC Potential Number of Units Affected: 14,838 Manufacturer: General Motors LLC SUMMARY: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chevrolet Colorado, and GMC Canyon trucks manufactured January 6, 2014, to December 24, 2014. The affected vehicles may experience the front brake calipers leaking brake fluid. This is due to air pockets, an imperfection in the metal caliper body. CONSEQUENCE: If the vehicle experiences a brake fluid leak it can increase the stopping distance, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. REMEDY: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the front-brake calipers if necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin July 10, 2015. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), or 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). GM's number for this recall is 14888. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov. Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee teases return with a Countach
Fri, May 29 2015Unless you have an intense aversion to Jerry Seinfeld, it's hard not to find something to like about his show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. After all, the series combines funny people telling often hilarious stories while riding in ridiculously cool vehicles. The trailer for the sixth season is now online, and based on this tease, this definitely looks worth watching no matter what part of the videos interest you. Of course, it's the automotive portion that really grabs us, and Seinfeld has quite a fleet to showcase for season six. The trailer shows off a Lamborghini Countach, a '57 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible, a classic Volkswagen Beetle in the green and white German Polizei livery, a Morgan, an Aston Martin DB5, and a Ferrari 308. On the more humorous side of things, the guest list at least includes Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jim Carrey, Steve Harvey, Stephen Colbert, Bill Maher and upcoming host of The Daily Show Trevor Noah. Season six of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee premieres on Crackle on Wednesday, June 3, at 11:30 PM ET.
