See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"Reverse doesn't work, drips a little gas when parked on a slope out of the throttle linkage. Please see pics the truck can use some TLC. The Engine is a powerhouse! Edelbrock heads, intake, carb ... Not sure what cam set up is in there does have a bit of a glug to it. Glass packs on the exhaust, digital ignition conversion. My first thought when I got this was to pull the engine and save it. Just acquired this truck on a trade. Tires are in great shape."

Up for auction is a beast of a machine. A 1970 Chevy C 20 c/20 with a built up engine and a canopy.

THE TRUCK -  is in rough shape the body is pretty straight with the exception of rear passanger side wheel well where chain came loose and caused a little body damage. Missing tailgate and reverse doesn't work. Interior needs some work as well Dash pad needs replaced, steering wheel is cracked due to plastic aging. Radio is in but not turning on. Please see pics!

THE ENGINE - is by far the coolest part of this machine! Older block so it has the higher nickel content (From what I hear it makes it more desirable), Edelbrock aluminum heads #6089 (same as the 60889), Edelbrock performance pro Intake, Edelbrock Carb (The carb dribbles some from the throttle when parked at a slant.) Moriso Valve covers. This engine fires up easy and is a power house. P/O says he built it up less than 10k ago. Engine shows 68XXX on odom.

THE CANOPY - is from 1969 built locally here in Spokane. It is functional but ugly :)

So with that said I will leave it to the winning bidder the option of taking the engine / exhaust or all of it. (Bring your own tools) The truck drives good forward although it is a gas hog.

Local Pickup only please feel free to come preview before bidding sold as is where is.

Thanks for looking and happy bidding!

Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.

Chevy confirms Corvette Stingray Convertible for Geneva

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

Want proof that General Motors has increased global ambitions for its 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray? It's staging the world premiere of the model's convertible variant at the Geneva Motor Show early next month.
As previously rumored, the droptop rendered above will debut at the Swiss show, making its first appearance anywhere on March 5. According to Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet, the location makes sense because Corvette "...is an icon that has long been recognized and admired even in countries where it's never officially been offered."
While neither Chevrolet nor the Corvette has a major sales presence in Switzerland, the Bowtie's European headquarters is located in Zurich (about three hours to the northeast of Geneva) and GM has made it clear that it wants to build the Chevrolet brand up across Europe.

2015 Chevy Volt gets larger battery, though range remains the same

Sat, Jul 19 2014

The Chevrolet Volt isn't changing much for the 2015 model year. According to specifications uncovered by Inside EVs, though, the new Volt's battery does have a slightly larger capacity. According to the spec sheet, this doesn't translate to increased range. Real world driving, though, might tell a different story. The 2015 Volt's battery storage is slightly higher than the outgoing model's, up from 16.5 kilowatt-hours to 17.1 kWh. According to GM's manager of electrification technology communications, Kevin Kelly, speaking to Green Car Reports, the increased capacity is "a late change done in the cell... just another continuous improvement to surprise and delight our customers." The stated electric range, however, stays at 38 miles. Inside EVs followed up on its original report, and found that drivers could see some advantage to the battery tweak. When they spoke to Kelly, he told them, "As a result of this change, we would expect that some customers may see a slight improvement in overall EV range." It's worth noting that when battery capacity increased from 16 kWh to 16.5 kWh for the 2013 Volt, electric range increased by three miles to the current 38, while MPGe went from 94 to 98. The price of the 2015 Chevrolet Volt remains steady, at $34,995. The actual cost to the customer is considerably less with the $7,500 federal tax credit, as well as any local incentives.
