Up for auction:  1977 Chevy half ton C-10 Custom Deluxe Short bed pickup truck.  2002 full frame-off restoration with only about 10,000 miles after restoration. I’m only letting it go because I’ve moved and now have no good place to keep it. I’d rather pass it on to someone that will care for it than have it sit outside.

As you can tell I patterned my restoration after the 1969 Camaro pace car complete with the Orange racing stripes and Orange/Black Houndstooth vinyl interior inlay on the seat. I used mostly Chevy parts such as exhaust tips from a Chevelle.  If Chevy had made a hot rod/SS truck back in the day, I think this is what it would have looked like.

No rust at all and has NEVER seen road salt or snow. Always kept inside until April 12th 2014 when I moved. It has a mild built 350 four bolt main block, 30 over flat top pistons, Edelbrock performer intake with a Holley 750 carb on top. I put a 4 speed trans out of a 67 Camaro in it with a Hurst competition shifter. I built it to drive and enjoy so it has stock manifolds with 2 1/2 ” duel exhaust pipe and two 40 series Flowmasters. It has front power disc brakes, power steering and a 12 bolt rear end. I do have the shop manual, service manual, owner’s manual and a few extra parts that go with it. The truck is straight and clean, no accidents.

A few items to mention...
-It does have a crack in the dash (see pic).
-The paint is still great apart from some chips from driving (see pics).
-The speedometer works intermittently but I do have another to replace it.
-At times the ignition "clicks" rather then turns the starter over (lick a loose connection). I believe I have this resolved but want to note it.
-Other than that the truck starts right up, runs and sounds great! It rides and drives nicely. I’ll be glad to answer any questions.

This is my second attempt on eBay with this truck. This time with a NO RESERVE AUCTION. MUST SALE!! This is a serious auction, so bid with the intention of buying because all sales are final, but be comfortable with this truck before you bid. Test drives are welcome…you won’t be disappointed! Vehicle is sold as is. No warranties of any kind are expressed or implied. I reserve the right to end the bidding early as I am also selling outside of EBay.
The winning bidder must submit a $500.00 non refundable deposit within 48 hours of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle.
Buyer will be responsible for all shipping and transportation costs. Of course I will be happy to assist in any way I can. Don't let this one get away from you!

Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles

Mon, May 13 2024

It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.

Stolen '57 Chevy Returned To Owner After 30 Years

Fri, Feb 21 2014

Three decades after it was stolen, a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air has been returned to a Northern California man - in better shape than when he originally owned it. The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports Ian "Skip" Wilson was shocked to get a call from the California Highway Patrol informing him that his long-lost Chevy was taken off an Australia-bound cargo ship. The 65-year-old says the car has had a lot of work done on it since it disappeared from his Lake County home in 1984. It was returned with a monogrammed interior, 17-inch racing wheels, rack-and-pinion steering and a 350-horsepower V-8 engine. The retired mechanic says the two-door was in sorry shape when he bought it for $375 in 1975 with plans for fixing it up. Chevy up to old EVs-equal-range-anxiety tricks in new Volt Olympics ad

Fri, Feb 14 2014

General Motors is at it again with a new Chevrolet Volt TV commercial. Viewers of the Winter Olymics (at least in some markets) recently saw a TV ad in between the skating and the skiing that made no mention of the environmental benefits or freedom from the power of Big Oil that electric vehicles provide. No, this one was based on pure survival instinct. In the video, a father is driving down a highway, perhaps through the Mojave Desert. His young son is sitting in the Volt's backseat and asks what happens when the EV's battery runs out. "We'll have to cross that burning desert with snakes and cactus until we make it back to civilization," the dad tells his son as they pass the skeleton of a fallen bull. The fine print makes it clear that the actual maximum range is 342 miles. But there is hope. The father tells his son, with a beaming smile on his face, that the gas generator has kicked in and they're going to make it through the desert. As they wend their way to the horizon, a voice over says that Volt drivers who charge up regularly are making it 900 miles between fill ups. The fine print makes it clear that the actual official maximum range before you need to either plug in or fill up is 342 miles. This theme that emphasized range anxiety has been utilized by GM since the extended range Volt was launched in late 2010, despite the fact that Chevrolet now offers an all-electric vehicle in the Spark EV. Volt fans are praising the commercial, called The New Freedom, on the GM-Volt forum and you can see for yourself below. This content is hosted by a third party.
