1986 Chevrolet C-10 Silverado on 2040-cars
Millville, California, United States
Stored in aclimate-controlled warehouse in Central California since 2009. Started and driven periodically, a total of 2200
miles have been driven in the past 12 years.
Factory short bed in the desirable Frost White on Burgundy. Highly appointed Silverado trim package. The body and
paint are incredible. Gaps are excellent. Laser straight fitment. The inside of the bed has been touched up, and a
few panels have had fresh clear coat, but the paint is mostly original and in excellent shape. A real pleasure to
wipe down. All of the trim and brightwork is original, and in near perfect condition. The glass is perfect.
Everything is where it should be, no shortcuts, no hacks, no BS.
Interior is 10 out of 10. A true time capsule. Upholstery is excellent, seat foam and springs are noticeably “not
worn out”, the bench feels amazing. Door panels and dash are near perfect. All switches, knobs, buttons, etc are
near perfect. All rubber is excellent, seat belts glide like new, headliner and carpet are near perfect. Gauges are
crystal clear. Everything works perfectly. Even the dummy lights and buzzers work like new.
The engine runs like a sewing machine. 305 C.I. V8, everything is stock and operates as new. No smoke, no leaks, no
stutters, no hesitation. Fires right up and I wouldn’t hesitate to drive the truck anywhere. The exhaust features
stock manifolds but a brand-new CAT and a mellow muffler with just the right rumble. The 2 into 1 system is CA SMOG
compliant and she passed 450 miles ago. The 4 speed trans makes a big difference from the previous year’s 3
speed. Paired with the 2.73 rear axle, you get a great all-around driving experience with low RPMs at freeway
speeds. The shift points are ultra-smooth. No clunking, no slop, no issues.
Her road manners are excellent. Silky smooth power steering. One finger on the wheel, easy parking, no slop.
Suspension has been upgraded to give the truck the perfect stance. Belltech Nitro drop shocks give the right
altitude while improving the original ride quality. Under the truck is as clean as topside. No rust, no rot.
Beautiful factory metal, factory welds and clean metal everywhere. No grime, no undercoating spray to hide any BS,
just a good honest truck ready to go anywhere

2014 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra full configurators truck in
Sat, 15 Jun 2013You can now put prices to your wildest option-sheet dreams of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. A microsite for the full-size pickup truck twins has been up since January, and now the full-blown configurator is live and ready to take your virtual orders. The only two chassis configurations available at the moment are the Crew Cab with either a short or standard bed - Regular and Double Cab versions will come later. In Silverado flavors that will run you $32,710 for the short box, $33,010 for the standard box, while the Sierra adds a $1,500 premium to both of those prices, and destination and handling for both models adds another $995.
Since these are American pickups the list of modifications is lengthy, but we added $11,450 in just two steps by starting with the Silverado Crew Cab and standard bed, then checking four-wheel drive and the LTZ Z71 package. Our final truck, resplendent in Brownstone Metallic paint, heated and cooled Cocoa/Dune perforated leather seating and tasty details like chrome recovery hooks, and engine block heater and LED cargo box lighting, rang up $57,285 at the candy store.
They'll be on dealer lots sometime this summer, so now's a good time to start practicing your box-checking.
2014 Chevy Cruze Diesel arrives with 42 mpg for $25,695*
Thu, 07 Feb 2013The last time General Motors had a diesel passenger car in the US, it was the 1.8-liter 1986 Chevette. At the 2013 Chicago Auto Show today, GM is unveiling the much-anticipated 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Diesel. The compact bows with a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine that boasts 148 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, with full twist coming on at just 2,000 rpm. What's more, the common-rail, direct-injection diesel features an overboost function that allows the engine to deliver up to 280 lb-ft of torque for 10 seconds at a time. Even with 10 more horsepower and 110 more pound-feet of torque than the available turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder in the Cruze, the 2.0-liter diesel engine can return up to 42 mpg (highway) bolted to its six-speed automatic transmission.
If you're counting, that figure meets the less powerful Cruze Eco with a six-speed manual transmission. More importantly, the auto transmission Cruze Diesel matches its main competition, the Volkswagen Jetta TDI, in highway fuel economy. The Cruze 2.0 TD (as it will be badged) can also handle up to 20 percent biodiesel (B20), whereas the Jetta is rated only for B5. General Motors has not released city fuel economy for its newest diesel, but we do know how much it will cost you to jump behind the driver's seat.
GM will kindly ask for $25,695, plus an $810 destination fee. That marks a $2,115 premium over a loaded Cruze LTZ Auto and $2,640 more than the Jetta TDI, though the MSRP will net you a leather interior, 17-inch alloy wheels and an Aero Performance Package, as well as a two-year maintenance plan and five-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty. Compared to the gas-powered Cruze, you also lose a couple cubic feet of rear cargo space thanks to a 17-liter diesel emission fluid tank. That urea fluid, which helps put the clean in clean diesel, will need to be refilled at least every 10,000 miles.
1983 Motorweek showdown pits Porsche 928S vs. Chevy Camaro Z28
Mon, Jan 12 2015Last month, Motor Trend threw the Camaro Z/28 and Porsche 911 GT3 into the bear pit and let them fight it out. Way back in 1983, MotorWeek had the same idea, comparing the Camaro Z/28 to the Porsche 928S. At the time, the Camaro was America's best selling sports coupe, the 928S was Porsche's top-of-the-line model that also had the highest top speed of any car sold here. And the price differential was even more stark then: $13,600 for the Camaro, $45,000 for the Porsche. That put the Z/28's cast-iron, 5.0-liter V8 with 190 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque against the all-aluminum 4.7-liter V8 with 234 hp and 263 lb-ft in the 928S. Even with that and the Camaro being 14 inches longer than the Porsche, the American was a surprising 40 pounds lighter than the German. The show took them to Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia to see how close a relative performance bargain could hang with a the German GT. Both had five-speed manual transmissions, but the high-speed corners and tight sections of Summit Point would test other handling variables, including the "bone-rattling" Camaro's solid rear axle and disc and drum brake setup vis-a-vis the four-wheel disc brakes and independent suspension on the "firm-but-smooth" Porsche. Paradoxically, the larger disparity 22 years ago resulted in a closer result. Check out the video to see how the Summit was won.
