THIS IS A CREAMPUFF OF A TRUCK IN MY OPINION AND I HAVE BEEN THE PROUD OWNER OF SEVERAL. TRUCK IS VERY SOLID WITH LESS THAN EXPECTED WEAR,DAMAGE AND RUST FOR A 27 YEAR OLD TRUCK,IT RUNS AND DRIVES VERY NICE.I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK WITH THE INTENTION OF LOWERING IT AND ADDING WHEELS AND TIRES TO MATCH MY OLD GREY C10 ( SEE PIC BELOW). THIS TRUCK RIDES SO NICE THAT I CAN'T BRING MYSELF TO LOWER IT,HOWEVER IF YOUR INTERESTED I CAN MAKE YOU A GOOD DEAL ON THE LOWERING KIT AS WELL AS WHEELS AND TIRES FOR AN ADDITIONAL COST.THESE TRUCKS ARE GETTING HARDER TO FIND IN THIS SOLID CONDITION. ROCKERS ARE RUST FREE. DOOR BOTTOMS ARE RUST FREE. CAB CORNERS ARE 98% SOLID WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE HAVING A SMALL RUST SPOT.THE BED IS SUPER SOLID AND NOT BEAT UP.THE FRONT FENDER INNER LINERS DO HAVE RUST HOLES AND CAN BE BOUGHT AT LMC TRUCK FOR LESS THAN 50.00.I AM SELLING THIS TRUCK SO MY WIFE DOESN'T MAKE ME SLEEP ON THE COUCH, I'M NOT SELLING IT BECAUSE I WANT TO. I'M SETTING A FAIR RESERVE PRICE AND HOPE WHOEVER BUYS THE TRUCK LIKES IT AS MUCH AS I DO AND CONTINUES TO TAKE CARE OF IT.BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING COST AND ARRANGEMENTS.I HAVE PUT A ''FOR SALE'' SIGN IN THE WINDOW AND RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY IF THE TRUCK SELLS  LOCALLY.THANKS FOR LOOKING AND HAPPY BIDDING.

'84 MotorWeek Cherokee, Bronco and Blazer comparison indulges your SUV nostalgia

Fri, Jan 16 2015

These days, truck-based, full-frame SUVs are somewhat of a rarity on the auto landscape due to the rapid rise in popularity of easier-driving, car-based crossovers. Although, without the gradually building popularity of these chunky, high-riding vehicles decades ago, it's unlikely that America's roads would be filled with so many CUVs today. In its latest dig into the archives, MotorWeek has found a 1984 comparison test of a trio of these early Sport Utility Wagons, as long-time host John Davis called them, that helped get acceptance of this segment going. This is a red, white and blue test of the SUVs from American automakers at the time and pits the Chevrolet Blazer, Ford Bronco and Jeep Cherokee (specifically in Wagoneer guise) against each other. Driving manners and interior usability are considered in the evaluation, but Motorweek actually takes these vehicles off road, too. Among the bigger revelations is the improvement in on-road ability in the past 30 years. While specific 0-60 times aren't given, all three models take around 10 seconds just to get to around 50 miles per hour in the 500-feet on-ramp acceleration test. Check out this clip to see just how far this segment has progressed in the past three decades or just get a blast of nostalgia from these now vintage models. Here are a few of our automotive guilty pleasures

Tue, Jun 23 2020

It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. The world is full of cars, and just about as many of them are bad as are good. It's pretty easy to pick which fall into each category after giving them a thorough walkaround and, more important, driving them. But every once in a while, an automobile straddles the line somehow between good and bad — it may be hideously overpriced and therefore a marketplace failure, it may be stupid quick in a straight line but handles like a drunken noodle, or it may have an interior that looks like it was made of a mess of injection-molded Legos. Heck, maybe all three. Yet there's something special about some bad cars that actually makes them likable. The idea for this list came to me while I was browsing classified ads for cars within a few hundred miles of my house. I ran across a few oddballs and shared them with the rest of the team in our online chat room. It turns out several of us have a few automotive guilty pleasures that we're willing to admit to. We'll call a few of 'em out here. Feel free to share some of your own in the comments below. Dodge Neon SRT4 and Caliber SRT4: The Neon was a passably good and plucky little city car when it debuted for the 1995 model year. The Caliber, which replaced the aging Neon and sought to replace its friendly marketing campaign with something more sinister, was panned from the very outset for its cheap interior furnishings, but at least offered some decent utility with its hatchback shape. What the two little front-wheel-drive Dodge models have in common are their rip-roarin' SRT variants, each powered by turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. Known for their propensity to light up their front tires under hard acceleration, the duo were legitimately quick and fun to drive with a fantastic turbo whoosh that called to mind the early days of turbo technology. — Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski  Chevrolet HHR SS: Chevy's HHR SS came out early in my automotive journalism career, and I have fond memories of the press launch (and having dinner with Bob Lutz) that included plenty of tire-smoking hard launches and demonstrations of the manual transmission's no-lift shift feature. The 260-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder was and still is a spunky little engine that makes the retro-inspired HHR a fun little hot rod that works quite well as a fun little daily driver.

A hybrid and electric Corvette, plus we drive the Ioniq 5 | Autoblog Podcast #728

Fri, May 6 2022

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Road Test Editor Zac Palmer. Zac drove the electric 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Greg drove the fire-breathing 2022 Maserati Levante Trofeo. The two dive deep into the relatively heavy news week by starting off with a discussion about the upcoming hybrid Corvette before chatting about what the electric Corvette might be like. They have a chat about the possibility of Porsche and Audi officially joining the Formula 1 field. Then, Greg and Zac get into some quick-hitting news to round out the segment by dissecting the updated Kia Soul (now without a turbo), the 30th Anniversary Edition Land Rover Defender and the new CEO at Aston Martin. Following the news and drive reviews, they rope in Senior Editor, Green John Beltz Snyder to give them a quick download of what went down at the first drive for the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. Finally, they reach into the mailbag and answer some questions from someone who is less than pleased about infotainment systems in some new cars. And lastly, the gang hears back from someone they helped out in a prior Spend My Money segment on the podcast. Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com.
