1985 Chevrolet Silverado C-10 Pickup Truck (short Bed) on 2040-cars
Hornbeak, Tennessee, United States
Up for auction is a 1985 CHEVROLET SILVERADO C-10 two-wheel drive short wheel base pickup. This is a very sharp truck with only 59,700 miles. Truck is a local truck that was bought new at a local dealership here in northwest tn. This truck was put in a barn for about 10 years after original owner past away. This is a rust free truck that rides, drives, and runs great. Truck does smoke a little (i guess from sitting up so long). It has brand new 275/60/15 tires on the factory rally wheels. New exhaust, new brakes all the way around, new carpet, new plugs, wires and distributor cap. Interior of truck is in great condition with everything working (windows-locks-radio-cruise-wipers-tilt-AC-all gauges-and even the analog clock that usually doesn't ) Truck has good straight body except for small dent in drivers door (shown in picture). Paint is not bad but could stand a new paint job if you were wanting a show truck. Also have several extra parts: new parking lights--new silverado fender emblems--orignal steering wheel--new chrome trim for front and rear windows--new hood ornament.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

GM files to trademark name Badlands
Mon, Feb 23 2015If you've been hoping for General Motors to come out swinging at the Ford F-150 Raptor, we've had some tantalizing news for you of late. Last month we brought you a report that indicated GM has trademarked the name "Z71 Trail Boss," suggesting a potential hardcore off-roader. Now it seems the General has filed for a potentially even better name. That name, as our friends over at GM Authority have discovered, is "Badlands." The application, filed on February 16, indicates that it's for a truck, but of course it doesn't specify just what form it would take... or for that matter, under which division it would fall. So we could, in theory, be looking at the nameplate for a Raptor rival from Chevy or GMC (like the 2011 Sierra All Terrain HD concept pictured here), or for some other trim level, a concept truck, a special edition... just about anything. Heck, it could be for a Vauxhall, Opel or Holden for all we know at this point. Or GM could choose not to use it on anything at all, but here's hoping it'll emerge as something awesome in US showrooms sometime soon.
