1984 silverado has only 58k on body.Have all documents when bought new with only 12 miles.I bought it from original owner and have had it for 3 years.Has been stored in garage for 2 1/2 years.I removed control arms, spindles, brakes etc with intentions on bagging truck.Decided not to so installed new moog cross shafts, ball joints, tie rod ends, pitman arm and drag link. Then installed new cpp 2 1/2 dropped spindles that pull front wheels in 3/4 inch and use 71-72 heavy half 2 1/4 front brakes and hd calipers. It has new rotors, calipers, raybestos pads, new timken wheel bearings, seals, rear axle seals and new auburn posi with 3.42 gear.Truck has 5/5 drop(flip kit/spindles/springs) and 15x8 rally wheels with late model centers, lugs, and beauty rings with almost new tires.Removed original 305 and th350c.Have (2) 5.7 engines going ith it.One has 2 pc rear seal,882 heads(no valves)edelbrock air gap intake, edelbrock 600,still has original bore with hone marks still visible.Other is .040 over 1 piece rear seal roller block and had worn cam.It has no heads and is together just removed cam and heads. It also has edelbrock performer intake with edelbrock 600 carb. Also new lunati cam, timing chain, msd hei distributor, polished aluminum oil pan,new bearings and freeze plugs.Has th350 with b&m shift kit. Both engines were driven prior to removal just tore them down to build them up.They are very good blocks with no cracks or issues.Has cleaned and painted 4 core radiator with new retainer rubber and brackets.Body on truck is absolutely rust free top and bottom.Primer spot on bed side was where small dent is that I ground paint off.The windows are excellent and truck is tight. It has stainless steel long tube headers going into 3" flowmaster "top ten" shoot out mufflers which are no longer offered. It has all a/c components and worked all way up until removed. It will need dash pad small spot in seat fixed and door panels dyed to match. All interior trim is polished billet with alpine cd and memphis speakers.Has brand new tripple plated chrome front and rear bumpers and bolts, new grill and headlight bezels. This truck would be absolutely awesome upon completion and comes with alot of extra parts not mentioned.I am sure some things I havent mentioned.Only reason for selling is moving and have no where to store it.I removed original cluster with correct mileage because I was using autometer gages and my uncle needed one.I assure you mileage is correct and do have another cluster with 70k miles to go back in it.I assure you mileage is correct but doesnt really matter most of truck is new or like new anyway. Please contact me with any questions before bidding.

2016 Chevy Volt will not need premium gas

Wed, Oct 29 2014

Buried in the new technical details of the 2016 Chevy Volt released yesterday was a throwaway line about a small but important change that's due to the new 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. The first-gen Volt has always required premium gas but the new powerplant will be happy burning plain old regular. The Volt's chief engineer, Andrew Farah, told AutoblogGreen that the change was due to today's Volt owners explaining they were not happy paying for top-shelf petroleum. "The ability to use regular unleaded was based directly on customer feedback," he said. "Since the range extender is an all-new engine, it was optimized to use regular unleaded at the outset. Using regular fuel will not have effect on vehicle acceleration or other performance factors." As Larry Nitz, GM's executive director of vehicle electrification, told AutoblogGreen yesterday, the new engine is more powerful and quieter than the outgoing 1.4-liter engine that's used in the current Volt. Fuel economy and EV range specs for the next-gen Volt are not expected until the full car is revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

New Chevrolet Silverado to be revealed on Facebook on Thursday

Tue, 11 Dec 2012

There's not much to see here, but if you're one of those waiting for the reveal of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, above is the teaser image that Chevrolet posted on its Facebook page. We've seen the truck in form-fitting camo before, and even less can be made out here beyond those seriously punchy Silverado-esque fenders and the knowledge that the projector-beam headlamps teased previously do indeed work. We'll have to wait until Thursday for a full perusal of the "bold exterior design" and "careful attention given to every detail" we've been promised.
Gathering intel and rumors, magnesium and aluminum contribute to the Silverado's weight loss plan, the purported "High Country" top-tier trim will contribute to luxury pickup truck competition and profit margins and the next-generation small-block V8 will contribute to improved fuel economy. On the engine note, there have been rumors of available V6 engines, and when Facebook user John Jones asked "Where's your answer to that EcoBoost Chevy?", the Bowtie replied "stay tuned on the 13th. We think you'll be pleased...".
Along with the "Raise the Bar" tag, Chevrolet says of the Silverado, "You asked, we delivered." You can watch the reveal live on Chevrolet's Facebook page at 9:30 am EST, this Thursday, December 13. The GMC Sierra 1500 will also be there, and we'll see both in person at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

Recharge Wrap-up: Toyota FCV Rally Car To Compete, Barra bullish on Chevy Volt

Fri, Oct 31 2014

The Toyota FCV will compete in the last stage of the 2014 Japanese Rally Championship. The sport-tuned hydrogen-powered car will tackle the 177-mile Shinshiro Rally on November 1 and 2, emitting no greenhouse gases in the process. The rally course will help prove the safety of the vehicle before it goes on sale in Japan in the next several months. The Toyota FCV, rumored to be called "Mirai" in Japan, will begin sales there before April, according to Toyota, and in the summer in the US and Europe. Read more in the press release below. Carsharing is becoming more popular, and more visible, throughout the world, including the US. According to WardsAuto columnist John McElroy, 18 percent of US drivers have used some sort of carsharing service. Additionally, he says 60 percent of Americans are familiar with Zipcar and Uber. Mercedes' Harald Kroeger says promotions like free parking for carshares in Stuttgart are encouraging growth for Daimler's carsharing service, Car2go. Read more at WardsAuto. Ethanol is being help up by rail transport, according to ethanol producer Green Plains. More and more stations are carrying E15 blend gasoline, but grain producers have complained that crude oil is given higher priority by the rail lines shipping it, which rail companies deny. Union Pacific and BNSF Railway say they are stepping up service to make sure that ethanol can be shipped reliably to customers. Read more at Omaha World-Herald. General Motors "has placed a significant bet [on] the electrification of the automobile," says CEO Mary Barra. In a speech to the Detroit Economic Club this week, she spoke about the Chevrolet Volt, and its importance to GM's future. While Barra admits the Volt's success has been "not everything we wanted," it has provided experience, and shows that EVs have "an important role in the future of GM." The new Volt is more refined, stores more energy, has longer range, uses less fuel and is a big investment for Michigan. She announced that the new Volt's electric drive system will be built in Warren, and that all of its major components will be made in Michigan. "Silicon Valley doesn't have a corner on the market for innovation, creativity and drive," says Barra. "These qualities exist here – in this region – as well."
