1972 Chevrolet K10 Custom Deluxe Vintage 4x4 Restored With Short Bed No Reserve on 2040-cars
Metropolis, Illinois, United States
This truck is a true K10 4x4, but there was no category for that so I it listed under C10. I am the third owner. The previous owner stated he bought the truck in 1976 and drove it until he reached 100,000 (miles sometime in the early 90`s) and parked it in a shed and bought a newer truck. It has only been driven a total of 293 miles since. The exterior has been repainted in the original medium olive green color with the white added for contrast. It has new inner front fenders, side moldings, bumpers, light lenses, window/cab/door rubber, polyurethane body bushings, decals(engine/jacking/positraction/disc brake), windshield, stainless mirrors(still in box). The mirrors will go with the truck, I decided not to drill holes in the doors for them in case the new owner did not like the larger style mirror. This truck has power steering, power brakes, positraction, gauges, factory tow hooks, (original blue) locking front hubs, and a tire carrier for inside the bed(not installed but goes with). This truck was originally a LONG BED but the frame has been professionally shortened. The bed is all new sheet metal including both bedsides, front panel, and tailgate, with wood floor added for looks. The cab, doors, fenders, radiator support, and hood are all vintage 1972 GM. The cab has had the rockers, and corners replaced with new metal. This truck is not a bondo bomb it is all steel. The inside has new carpet, seat cover, and dash pad. The vintage jack and AM radio is still there but radio does not work. The heater, gauges, horn, wipers, and lights work. The truck drives and stops as it should. It has new front calipers, front rubber lines, pads, rear shoes, rear wheel cylinders, rear rubber and steel lines The tires were almost new when the truck was parked and hold air fine but they do have some weather cracking. They would be fine for occasional driving but I would not go on a trip and trust them. I show a quarter in the tread for depth. The engine is all stock with a new fuel pump, belts, hoses, wires, coil, and heater core. It still has the front half of the original single exhaust, the rear and muffler is new and quiet. This truck still has its cast iron gear driven transfer case. This truck sold new in Mayfield Ky. I have the owners manual, a dealer brochure, a 1972 accessory brochure, and the metal dealership logo that was still on the truck when I got it. All will go to the buyer. This truck had never been wrecked or painted on anywhere before its restoration. I know there is more, feel free to ask any questions or look at it in person. This truck is sold as-is where-is with no warranty. I require a $150.00 non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end. The remainder in CASH(in person) or cashiers check (only if being picked up by transport). If paying by cashiers check the truck will stay in my possession until the funds clear my bank. I am sorry but my bank holds the funds for 5 to 7 days to clear, their rules not mine. I have a clear title in my name and in my hands. Again this was a longbed truck that had its frame shortened, with a new short bed installed. I will add photos of the mirrors, manuals, and tire carrier. No reserve auction please bid to win. I can store for a short time if needed. Also I can assist in loading if needed. This truck is also for sale locally, but if there is a bid on it I will let the auction continue and not sell locally. I will not end the auction early so please don`t ask. If you want it now use the buy it now. I have a lot invested in this truck and I know what it is worth and will not accept any low-ball offers. This is a rare truck and they are not easy to find. Any ??? please ask.

Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards
Fri, 22 Feb 2013The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."

Motor Trend reveals 2016 Chevy Camaro as Car of the Year
Tue, Nov 17 2015The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro beat some very steep competition to earn the Golden Calipers as Motor Trend's Car of the Year. The magazine praised the sixth generation's fantastic engines, great handling, and lighter platform. "Our 2016 Car of the Year, the Chevrolet Camaro, is one of the finest driving vehicles in the world at any price," editor-in-chief Edward Loh said, "though its price is well within reach of the average consumer." The Camaro conquered some high-performance challengers to take the victory, including the Audi TT, Mazda MX-5 Miata, and Mercedes AMG GT S. It also bested technologically cutting-edge vehicles like the BMW 7 Series and Toyota Mirai. The latest Honda Civic rounded out the competition. To earn the prestigious award, nine judges evaluated the finalists in six categories: advancement in design, engineering excellence, safety, efficiency, value, and performance of intended function. The Volkswagen Golf won last year. In an engaging story on Motor Trend's website, it explains what a revelation the new coupe is and that they consider the model the best production pony car ever. The piece is well worth a read. Motor Trend also handed out the Person of the Year honor to Subaru of America President and Chief Operating Officer Thomas Doll. It praised him for the Japanese brand's massive success in the US like tripling deliveries since 2007. "By any measure, the business Tom Doll leads is an outstanding success," editor-at-large Angus MacKenzie said. "And he is the person whose unique vision and quiet leadership made it happen."
