1971 Chevy Pickup Long Bed 4x4 And 1971 3/4 Ton 2wd Truck For Repair Or Parts on 2040-cars
Catawba, Virginia, United States
Up for bids is my 1971 chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 long bed pickup. The truck has a good 350 v8 motor that is not the original motor.( block casting number is a 3970010). It has a turbo 350 trans which needs to be rebuilt and a np 205 transfercase. The engine, trans and transfercase have been removed because the trans failed and I had planned on doing some restoration work while rebuilding the trans. All the components are there to get the truck back on the road when the trans is repaired. The body is decent for the year and has some rust in the usual places and some dings as seen in the pictures. It has the aftermarket LED taillights and front turn signal lights. Also included in the sale is a 1971 gmc 3/4 2wd long bed pickup for parts or repair. It has a v8 motor that is bad - told it has a rod knocking and is not the original motor. It is a factory 4spd truck with a leaf spring dana 60 rear end. It has some good body parts that I had planned to use on the 71 chevy. Also has a good set of 16" 8 lug tires and wheels. The gmc is missing some parts as shown in the pictures. Please ask questions and I will answer them honestly and as soon as possible. Remember the winning bid gets both trucks. I have clear titles to both trucks. The true mileage on both trucks is unknown. Please bid only if you intent to buy the truck and have the means to pay for it ! Please ask your questions before the end of the auction - not after ! Anyone is more than welcome to come take a look before the end of the auction, but once the auction is over the winning bidder is the owner - you are bidding to own ,not to come take a look and see if it's what you wanted after the auction is over. A 200 deposit is required within 24 hours of the end of the auction by paypal and is nonrefundable !!. The balance is due within 7 days. Both trucks must be towed and towing / shipping is the bidders responsibility.

Motor Trend puts Chevy Camaro Z28 and Porsche 911 GT3 Head 2 Head
Mon, Dec 29 2014Motor Trend admits, "This is an unfair comparison." But that doesn't make it any less fun to watch when they pit a Camaro Z/28 against the Porsche 911 GT3. The former has a 7.0-liter V8 with 505 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque shifted through a six-speed manual. The latter has a 3.8-liter flat-six with 475 hp and 324 lb-ft shifted through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Yet those are only the little disparities – the big disparities are mass and money: the Camaro weighs 3,882 pounds and costs $76,150 as-tested, the Porsche weighs 3,267 pounds and costs $145,785. But they're both about hardcore performance, so MT takes them out on the street, to the drag strip, to the parking lot for figure eights and a skidpad test, and finally to Big Willow for Randy Pobst to give his professional assessment. Remember when a lotta people spent a lotta time debating Pirates vs. Ninjas? This is like that, only it's the "haul-ass good-time car" vs. the "track surgeon." Enjoy the debate in the video.
Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray
Fri, 25 Oct 2013We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.
