1970 GMC short bed C10 show stopper!
For your consideration is my 1970 GMC C10 short bed. This truck is simply gorgeous, and a great example of a well
built resto-mod. We just completed a full restoration on the truck in which I will outline below. The truck runs,
drives, stops and handles beautifully without issue, and grabs attention wherever it goes.
Exterior
Newer high solids custom red paint job inside and out that has been professionally color sanded and buffed to a
show worthy shine. Paint on this truck is a 9 out of 10, with only very minor normal light imperfections.
Body on this truck is a 10 out of 10, is show quality, and is absolutely laser straight with no dings, dents,
waves, or imperfections what so ever.
All bright work is brand new and of show quality including the grille, bezels, and front bumper.
New HID Ultra Clear headlights.
Professionally shaved door handles, bed stake pockets, side marker lights, and tailgate with handle relocation
kit.
The bed has just been professionally rhino lined.
New door popper kit including 90lb solenoids and keyless remote control entry.
New chrome Ridler 20x9 wheels wrapped in new 245/45/20 tires.
New 2 inch cowl induction hood.
Custom fabricated recessed gas filler door.
Custom fabricated frenched in Cadillac tail lights.

The exterior of the truck is brand new, laser straight, and of show quality. The paint is very deep, glossy, and
has been done extremely well. You will not find a straighter C10 out there.

The truck runs, drives, and shifts without effort, sounds amazing, and is a blast to drive! The truck runs
extremely cool for a big block Chevy, and has withstood our Arizona heat of 115 degrees without concern. The truck
is a great and extremely reliable daily driver, highway cruiser, and show truck. The truck fires up every time
without effort, is extremely fast, can be driven anywhere, and will not disappoint.
Chassis & Suspension
New Bell Tech 3 inch front drop spindles.
New CPP 3 inch front drop springs.
New front and rear Bell Tech Nitro Drop shocks.
New CPP 5 inch rear drop springs.
The rear frame has been professionally C-notched.
New 2 inch lowering blocks, and U-bolts.
New front disc brake conversion with new master cylinder, booster, and proportioning valve.
New rear drum brakes, pads, and parts.
Completely stripped, cleaned, and professionally painted frame, and components.
New fuel lines.
New front and rear sway bars with new bushings and hardware.
New bushings, ball joints, tie rods, and sleeves.
New gear box with quick ratio gearing.
The under chassis of the truck is extremely clean, tidy, and shows very well. All suspension components are brand
new, and give the truck an amazing stance and ride quality. The truck has been lowered 6/7 overall with the new
components listed above. Additionally the brakes are brand new, and allow the truck to stop on a dime! The truck
handles and steers better than new, and with little effort.

Best cars for snow and ice in 2023 and 2024
Tue, Jan 23 2024What's the best car for snow? The real answer is "the one with winter tires." What do we mean by that? You could have the finest, most advanced all-wheel-drive system or four-wheel drive in the world, but if you're running all-seasons (the spork of tires), your fancy four-wheeler won't matter much. The odds are, any vehicle on the road running good winter tires will probably perform adequately in slippery, slushy and/or snowy road conditions. (Here's a more complete explanation of why winter tires are totally worth it). In other words, you don't really need any of the cars on this list. With a set of winter tires, countless others will do the job, and even these will be at their best with proper rubber. You can find a variety of winter tires for your car here at Tire Rack. Keep in mind that you will need a full set of four snow tires for safety and performance, no matter what you're driving. The days of your dad putting just two snows on the family truckster to get it moving in a straight line are long gone. Don't get us wrong, getting a car that performs well in snow and ice is still a worthy criteria for car buyers. According to the U.S. Transportation Department, 70% of Americans live in places that get snow and ice. And much of the country has been blasted with arctic air for much of the new year. So let's look at the cars. First, we're highlighting choices for a variety of buyers and price points. Second, we're not just considering snow; we're considering general wintery conditions people will experience driving to work or school. As such, these are all choices with advanced all-wheel-drive systems, usually with "torque-vectoring" systems that not only automatically shunt power front and back, but side to side between the rear axles. Junkyard Gem: 1980 Chevrolet LUV Mikado
Sat, Oct 9 2021During the 1970s and into the 1980s, each member of the Detroit Big Three imported Japanese small pickups and sold them with Ford (Mazda Proceed), Dodge/Plymouth (Mitsubishi Forte), or Chevrolet (Isuzu Faster) badges here. Ford developed the Ranger and killed the Courier for 1983 (though Americans could still buy the Mazda-badged version all the way through 1993), while The General axed the LUV after the S-10 debuted in the 1982 model year. Isuzu sold the same truck as the P'up through 1987, though, and we might as well follow up our recent P'up Junkyard Gem with its LUV predecessor. LUV stood for Light Utility Vehicle, and I've managed to spot a handful in the boneyards over the years. This one now resides in a yard in northeastern Colorado. The Mikado trim package included striped seat upholstery and a sporty steering wheel, plus these cool dash badges. As far as I can tell, no LUV Mikado advertising featured any Gilbert and Sullivan tunes. This one is fairly rusty for Front Range Colorado, and it has endured a bed swap from some other small truck. The engine is the 75-horse Isuzu 1.8-liter. Members of this engine family went into everything from Chevy Chevettes to Isuzu Troopers in the United States. Very unusually for a small pickup during the Malaise Era, this one has a luxurious automatic transmission. Acceleration must have been a leisurely affair in this truck. Air conditioning? Unheard of! Someone stuck every one of their lunchtime apple stickers on the driver's door. After 41 years of work, this truck is done. Come on strong in a LUV of your own!

Wed, Jan 14 2015Here at Autoblog, we love unexpected debuts at auto shows – and judging by our Detroit Auto Show comments and traffic, you do, too. Surprise reveals have been fewer and farther between in recent years with so many ways for vehicles to be teased or leak out, but this week's show has been a revelation. More to the point, it's been a series of revelations, with automakers from around the globe successfully delivering a brace of concept and production surprises. It's made our jobs a lot more exciting and challenging this week, and even though it's actually more work to react and run-and-gun when the sheet is pulled on a surprise reveal than it is to publish an already-written embargoed story, we've had more fun covering this show for you than any domestic show in memory. We hope you've enjoyed the surprises along with us.
