This is a 1969 Chevy C10 two wheel drive long bed truck. It is the typical truck of this era, has some rust, some mechanical issues, a few cosmetic flaws and lots of character and potential. It is NOT a numbers matching show truck, a concours restoration or a time capsule unmolested truck. it is a good old work/shop truck with a good base to start with or just keep it like it is and drive the wheels off of it. It does have it's good points as well as bad, I will try to cover both sides as best as I can.
First, mechanical condition.. It is a small block Chevy, not really sure what size. It starts right up, idles fine and pulls down the road. It has been converted to HEI ignition and should really have a new set of spark plug wires, the ones on it are pretty shabby. It has a Holley 600 carburetor on a factory intake. Has shiney valve covers and air cleaner but they have seen better days. Cast iron exhaust manifolds with dual exhaust. It is a three speed manual transmission , 3OTT (three on the tree). If you know these old trucks you know what is coming next, the shifter linkage needs adjusting. It drives and shifts but you have to know the "touch". To go to second, you almost slide up into reverse, then back down and up n over into second. The shift collar has been broken at one time and looks like it was JB Welded back together. Again, nothing major but a common problem with these old trucks and would really need to be fixed before doing a lot of everyday driving. The truck was an air coditioned model but the a/c components are long gone. Power steering works good and brakes stop like they should. Lights burn, wipers wipe.
Next, cosmetic condition. It has rust, has had some rust repaired and still needs body work. Chrome front and rear bumpers, pretty nice grille and has had the passenger fender replaced at one time, although it has a dent in it now. Tailgate has a big dent along the top but still functons as it should and bed is in real good shape. Rockers are rusty, inner front fenders are like they all are,, rusty. The good point is the area above the windshield does not appear to be rusted out like a lot of these trucks do. Doors open and close, passenger side outside door handle button is broken but you can still open the door with it. Paint job looks like a home shop effort but color is good. It is popping off in some spots. Interior needs a drivers side door panel.
I know i was pretty rough on the truck but had rather talk it down than mislead anyone about it. Does it need work, oh yeah. Would it be a good drive it while you work on it truck, oh yeah. Would I take off to either coast in it,, oh no, no way. All in all, it is just a good old truck that could make you a good shop truck, work truck or with effort and money a really nice cruiser. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask as I am sure I missed some things. We are flexible enough that we can work with your shipper if at all possible. Thanks and good luck.

GM drops diesel engines for 2020 Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain crossovers
Fri, Jul 12 2019GM is officially discontinuing the diesel engine in the Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain for the 2020 model year. The 1.6-liter turbodiesel was always an oddball of an engine in the compact crossover segment, and now the experiment has come to an end. The Car Connection initially reported the news, and a GMC spokesperson, Stuart Fowle, confirmed it to us this morning. “A huge majority of our Terrain customers have opted for one of our two gas engines," says Fowle. We canÂ’t say this eventuality comes as a massive surprise, as we saw news from couple of months ago that GM was dropping all-wheel drive from the diesel-powered cars for 2020. Low demand was cited as the reason for that cull, and itÂ’s the same for the little GM crossovers this time around, too. These vehicles were the only ones powered with a diesel engine in their class, but thatÂ’s going to be changing. Just as GM is going away from the diesel, Mazda is finally bringing its diesel to market in the CX-5. YouÂ’ll only be able to get that engine in the most expensive ($42,045) trim level, combined with all-wheel drive, though. The cheapest Equinox diesel starts at a comparably low $30,795. ThatÂ’s a $2,400 upcharge over the base 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder, and the value is questionable. Mileage is better, but diesel fuel is more expensive. Towing capability didnÂ’t increase over the base engineÂ’s 1,500-pound capacity, but the extra torque around town was nice. As diesels go in the U.S., this one was rather rough and noisy, possibly contributing to some turning their noses up after a test drive. Perhaps another reason for its demise was that the much quicker 2.0-liter turbo Equinox was only $100 more than the diesel. This engine offered significantly better towing at 3,500 pounds, too. You can read all about what we thought of the diesel in our first drive review here, but the 2019 model year is the last one if you had it on your shortlist. A hybrid and electric Corvette, plus we drive the Ioniq 5 | Autoblog Podcast #728
Fri, May 6 2022In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Road Test Editor Zac Palmer. Zac drove the electric 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Greg drove the fire-breathing 2022 Maserati Levante Trofeo. The two dive deep into the relatively heavy news week by starting off with a discussion about the upcoming hybrid Corvette before chatting about what the electric Corvette might be like. They have a chat about the possibility of Porsche and Audi officially joining the Formula 1 field. Then, Greg and Zac get into some quick-hitting news to round out the segment by dissecting the updated Kia Soul (now without a turbo), the 30th Anniversary Edition Land Rover Defender and the new CEO at Aston Martin. Following the news and drive reviews, they rope in Senior Editor, Green John Beltz Snyder to give them a quick download of what went down at the first drive for the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. Finally, they reach into the mailbag and answer some questions from someone who is less than pleased about infotainment systems in some new cars. And lastly, the gang hears back from someone they helped out in a prior Spend My Money segment on the podcast. Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com. 2020 Chevy Trax and Buick Encore spied testing
Tue, Aug 14 2018We just recently saw a little crossover SUV from General Motors being tested, and we weren't positive what brand it belonged to. We narrowed it down to Chevy or GMC, but we're feeling more confident that it's a GMC now, since both the next generation Chevy Trax and Buick Encore subcompact crossover SUVs have been spied testing together. Of the two, the Chevy has the more radically different sheet metal. It ditches the somewhat frumpy, lumpy shape of the current Trax for a body inspired by the bigger Chevy Blazer. The roofline has sharp corners, and the hood is wide and flat. The front fascia, though obscured, shows the most connection to the bigger crossover. It has the same split headlight configuration, and it looks as though the grille takes up a sizable section of the fascia. View 7 Photos The Buick Encore on the other hand looks evolutionary in design. The body still has plenty of curves, and the distinctive, sharply rising window sill are all hallmarks of the current Encore design. The headlights and grille are similar, too, though the grille appears to be slightly updated to fit in with the Enclave and Regal. It's understandable that Buick might want to play it safe with the new Encore, since the model is Buick's best seller, selling about 23,000 units in the last quarter, nearly twice that of the next best performer, the Enclave. Since this is the first time we've seen these little crossovers, we expect it will still be a year or two before we get to see them fully revealed. They will probably continue to use small-displacement turbocharged four-cylinder engines with either front- or all-wheel drive. Related Video:
