1969 Chevrolet C-10 Shortbed Fleetside Patina on 2040-cars
Woodland, California, United States
1969 Chevrolet C-10 shortbed fleetside 2wd. This truck is a one owner truck and has been in the same family ad same small northern California town since new. It comes with original clean CA. title. This truck has beautiful patina and original paint and does not look like it has been spotted or repaired or wrecked. It still has the well desired black California plates and the original build sheet. It has a very strong running v8 350ci engine backed by a manual 3 speed transmission and posi-traction rearend. It has dual glass pack exhaust and is slightly lowered a few inches by cutting the coils. The tires are almost new , but one looks a little weather checked. The body is very nice and straight with some minor dings and dents The truck runs great. starts right up every time and can be a nice daily driver with very little work. It doesn't have any leaks and runs very strong. The 3 speed on the column shifts very well, but the shifter does get stuck every so often and may need to be greased. The gauges and lights work as they should. The brakes are good. The truck starts and stops very nicely. there is a small dent on driver side bottom of front fender, the passenger side rear bottom of the bed that can easily be taken out from inside. The tailgate does have a nice size dent on top but opens and closes as it should. the windshield is cracked and needs replacing but it does not leak. the dash is nice and uncut with a radio delete. both rocker panels have rust but, I do have brand new rockers panels that come with the truck. The drive side front floor board has some rust also but its minor and can be easily fixed. The rest of the floor board is super solid. The front inner fender well has some rust underneath the battery tray which is normal for any vehicle of this age. The rest of the truck seems to be very nice and solid, the hood, doors, fenders and bed sides are very nice. Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?
Tue, 19 Feb 2013Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more? MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet. Right now, GM is reportedly waiting to see what sort of grunt it can glean from the next ZR1.
The automaker has already made it clear it will resurrect the LT5 name for the new supercharged V8, and if GM is already pulling 600 from the Z06, the big dog ZR1 would theoretically offer 700 horsepower. Either way, the range-topping Corvette will be suitably insulated from its less potent siblings. Stay tuned. We aren't likely to see the Z06 for at least a year, with the ZR1 trailing along at some point there after.
Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray
Fri, 25 Oct 2013We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.
GMC Canyon, Chevy Colorado diesels finally heading to dealers
Fri, Jan 1 2016Customers who have been waiting to receive their diesel-powered Chevrolet Colorados and GMC Canyons should be relived to hear that GM will finally start to ship them out of the Wentzville Assembly Plant. "The highly anticipated 2016 GMC Canyon diesel has begun shipping to dealers," a company spokesperson confirmed to The Detroit News. The trucks originally had a fall launch date, but a final review forced a delay in deliveries. The 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel in the midsize trucks produces 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, and the company touts the engine's low emissions. The Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board even put the mill through extra scrutiny with a real world test in the wake of VW's diesel scandal, and the Duramax passed with no problems. At that time, a Chevy spokesperson told Autoblog that the models' launch was on track. The Duramax engine adds $3,730 to the price of a comparable V6 model, but they're the most fuel-efficient pickups on the market. The EPA estimates the twins at 31 miles per gallon highway, 22 mpg city, and 25 mpg combined in two-wheel drive form and 29/20/23 with four-wheel drive. Buyers likely can't wait to finally experience these pickups after reading a heap of positive reviews. The Colorado diesel recently earned Motor Trend's Truck of the Year award. We also came away impressed with it during our First Drive and liked the Canyon during our Quick Spin. Related Video:
