Up for sale is a very clean 68 step side long box, yes a long box which is kind of rare to see and I have yet to see one this summer at any of the shows. I spent about a month on this truck and tried to take care of the major jobs and yet leave enough for the next owner to personalize it for themselves. I will give you a list of all the positives and also a list of what I consider to be minor but will need attention.
It came to me with rebuilt 350 engine and transmission both with 7k miles on them. I know the engine builder and he did a great job with the cam set up (not to lumpy)
It has a new MSD dist. and a new edelbrock carb again runs great with no issues.
The truck has 69k miles on it so the body was decent, we fixed any rust issues ( drivers rocker and partial floor and passengers rocker small area).
The truck has a fresh paint job of satin black, the under side of the truck was power washed and painted chassis black.
The door jambs were painted to match the interior (close match not perfect) All new weather seals and all new window seals and felt. Wings were decent so they are original.
We installed new window regulators so they operate like new, put a very nice used dash pad in, and new carpet that runs to the fuel tank. Installed new sill plates.
The bed of the truck received a new header panel and tail gate along with a new 3/4 inch oak floor and all new bolts. I did not spend allot of time on the dings on the box sides looks good not perfect.
We also replaced all the exterior reflectors and added new tail light lenses along with new front turn signal lenses. The truck has 50% rubber all around.
The minor issues that need attention windshield needs new seal I noticed some seepage when I washed it. Front bumper is missing chrome see pics.
It has a oil leak nothing major and I will put it on the hoist tomorrow and check it over.
Needs a radio, (I have a GM am radio that will fit not sure if it works)
The truck runs a drives great and will make a nice hot rod to take to the shows. It is a turn key unit and I have a clear title ready for transfer.
I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. Bid to win If you have questions feel free to call Dig at Digs Rod Shop 641-660-9837 I do take trades must be pre 72 no 4 doors or 4x4 trucks let me know what yu have.

Take a close look at the guts of the Chevy Volt battery, powertrain
Sat, Aug 9 2014Just how intimate would you like to get with the powertrain in a Chevy Volt? If you're anything like YouTube user d55guy, then spending a half hour filming yourself taking apart the battery pack, motor, inverter and more for a look inside sounds like your idea of fun. After all, this way you get to see the cooling system, the heavy safety kill switch and count up the individual cells in the battery modules. Fun! Turns out, we also enjoy languidly paced Volt dissection video goodness, and we think you might want to see it as well. So, we've embedded two videos below and if you don't have a better understanding of how the Volt is put together after watching them, well, at least you can't say we never tried to show you anything. Given that what's really happening here is the organized 'destruction' of an expensive and potentially dangerous object, let's talk safety. There's a serious disclaimer at the beginning of the videos and on the YouTube description page, but we feel the need to repeat the gist of it here: do not try this at home. The creator of the video says he is a trained engineer and has been doing things like this "for the better part of a decade," so he apparently knows what he's doing. With that in mind, watch it all below. When you're done seeing the insides of a Volt powertrain up close, if you need more filmed EV dissection/destruction, check out this video designed for first responders approaching a damaged Tesla Model S. Opel's own ad shows Ampera-e beating Opels in drag race
Thu, Sep 8 2016The Opel Ampera-e isn't expected to set any world records on a quarter-mile drag strip. But when it comes to crossing a major boulevard, though, the European version of the Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicle will more than hold its own, potentially scaring inattentive pedestrians everywhere. According to a 35-second video posted by General Motors' Opel division, at least. Opel set up the Ampera-e against four other small-and-sporty vehicles, including racing versions of the Opel Adam and Opel Astra as well as stock versions of the Opel Insignia and Corsa (what, you expected a Corvette to be in there?). With the EV's off-the-line torque as a selling point, Opel showed the Ampera-e beating the other vehicles in a 30-meter (100-foot) drag race. Of course, the video also shows the EV getting passed by some of the others soon after, but the point was made. Opel doubled down by adding the tagline "Fun to Drive" at the end of the video. While Opel hasn't revealed the single-charge range of the Ampera-e, it should be roughly the same as the Chevrolet Bolt, which will be about 200 miles. In addition, the Ampera-e, like the Bolt in the US, will get 200 horsepower from its electric motor, and will be able to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than seven seconds. The Ampera-e will debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show later this month. General Motors said in February that Europe would get the Ampera-e by next year. Opel had previously used the Ampera name with the Euro version of the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in. Should heavy-duty pickup trucks have window stickers with fuel mileage estimates?
Sat, Sep 23 2017If you were to stroll into your nearest Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan, or Ram dealership, you'd find a bunch of pickup trucks. Most of those would have proper window stickers labeled with things like base prices, options prices, location of manufacture, and, crucially, fuel economy estimates. But you'd also run across a number of heavy-duty trucks with no such fuel mileage data from the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA doesn't require automakers to publish the valuable miles-per-gallon measurement for vehicles with gross weight ratings that exceed 8,500 pounds. That makes it difficult for consumers to compare behemoths powered by turbocharged diesel engines – between one another, and between smaller, gasoline-fueled trucks. Consumer Reports doesn't think it should be this way, and it's spearheading an effort (PDF link) to get the government to require manufacturers to publish fuel economy estimates. In its own testing, CR found that heavy-duty pickups powered by Ford's Power Stroke, GM's Duramax, and FCA's Cummins diesel engines (which doesn't include the Ram's EcoDiesel) get worse fuel mileage than their lighter-duty gas-powered siblings. We're not so sure HD-truck buyers are unaware of this fact – big diesels don't really come into their own until big loads are placed in their beds or attached to their trailer hitches. Under heavy workloads, the diesel trucks will almost certainly return greater efficiency than a similar gas-powered truck. What's more, HD trucks with lumbering diesels in general make the driver feel more confident while towing due to greater torque at low engine RPM than gas trucks. They also offer greater max-weight limits. Still, we agree EPA fuel mileage estimates should be offered for heavy-duty pickups. And we think the comparisons provided by Consumer Reports might be interesting to potential buyers. Click here to see the results of CR's tests, and let us know what you think using the poll below.
