1966 Chevy Truck S10 Five Speed Hot Rod Rat Rod on 2040-cars
Johnson City, Tennessee, United States
Here is my personal sweet little 1966 c10 that runs and drives fantastic. I participated in this years Hot Rod Power Tour with it and it performed great. Drove it over 600 miles in 2 days getting 20+MPG. It is powered by the chevy 250 inliner that has been converted to pertronix electronic ignition. It is mated to a S10 5 speed. I installed a Vintage Metalworks bellhousing adapter, new 11 inch pressure plate and new 11 inch astro van clutch. The truck has power disc brakes. The front end is a completely rebuilt 1985 chevy 1/2 ton front suspension. It has BellTech drop spindles, CPP drop springs. All new brakes lines front to rear. The rear end is from a 1972 c10 with all new brakes and hardware. The rear also has CPP drop springs. New Coker Classics on all four corners with steel wheels. Also forgot to add that I have everything to put power steering on truck. This is on my to do list. Can not promise but it may be complete at end of auction. It drives great without it though.
I am the third owner of this truck. It is very solid with a few imperfections. The truck was last painted in 1998, it has a few places where the paint is coming off showing the original teal green paint underneath. The paint is by no means show quality but you can tell the truck is solid for not being painted in nearly 20 years. Everything on the truck works, speedo, wipers, lights, even the cigarette lighter. I have all the original front and rear suspension plus the 3 speed tranny if someone wants it back original. This is one you can come get, hop in and drive home. It is smooth, rides soft, plus gets 20+ MPG. I'm sure I have left details out, if you have any questions please feel free to ask. Serious buyers only. Anyone with zero feedback I will retract their bid. Thank you On Aug-02-14 at 19:56:03 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE!!!!! |

2014 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra full configurators truck in
Sat, 15 Jun 2013You can now put prices to your wildest option-sheet dreams of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. A microsite for the full-size pickup truck twins has been up since January, and now the full-blown configurator is live and ready to take your virtual orders. The only two chassis configurations available at the moment are the Crew Cab with either a short or standard bed - Regular and Double Cab versions will come later. In Silverado flavors that will run you $32,710 for the short box, $33,010 for the standard box, while the Sierra adds a $1,500 premium to both of those prices, and destination and handling for both models adds another $995.
Since these are American pickups the list of modifications is lengthy, but we added $11,450 in just two steps by starting with the Silverado Crew Cab and standard bed, then checking four-wheel drive and the LTZ Z71 package. Our final truck, resplendent in Brownstone Metallic paint, heated and cooled Cocoa/Dune perforated leather seating and tasty details like chrome recovery hooks, and engine block heater and LED cargo box lighting, rang up $57,285 at the candy store.
They'll be on dealer lots sometime this summer, so now's a good time to start practicing your box-checking.
Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs
Sun, 01 Dec 2013
The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.
Watch the live reveal of the 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra [UPDATE]
Thu, 13 Dec 2012UPDATE: The trucks have been revealed. Click here for all of the official details.
As promised, Chevrolet and GMC are offering a live webcast of the world premiere for the all-new 2014 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500. After being teased with spy shots and blurry images like the one above for ages, now is the time to see the trucks in the metal, for real (well, as 'real' as it gets on a webcast, at any rate).
Shift your eyes down just below to see the reveal as it happens, starting at 9:30 AM EST. We anticipate having loads of images full technical information to share after the webcast, too, so truck aficionados should stay tuned. We'll also be bringing you live images of both trucks too, when we see them on the show floor at next month's Detroit Auto Show.
