For your consideration:

1966 Chevrolet C10 Fleetside long bed pickup - without long window.

This vehicle is unique and very original. It has a long history of being in the same family for many years before being sold and eventually made it to our car lot a couple of year ago - all these years in the same county. I, personally, know the family who owned this truck and first came into contact with it in 1997.
The family who owned this truck for so many years, used it on their family farm to do daily chores, and to teach all of their children to drive.

This Chevy truck features a 6 cylinder engine (original), which is believed to be a 250 ci, with a 3 speed column mounted manual shift transmission.

This vehicle is in need of a full restoration, but it does run and drive OK.

As seen in the photos, there are some rust issues on the body. The frame appears to be rust free.

Interior is fair, and could also use a good restoration.

Please look at all the photos carefully and ask ALL questions prior to purchase or submitting an offer.

This vehicle is being listed for sale by Leonard's Used Cars and Truck in Ottawa, KS, and is also for sale locally on the car lot. We have been in business in the same town for 42 years and our word and integrity is our honor and reason for longevity.
Please also take a look at my feedback and buy with confidence.

You may contact the dealer, Leonard Cheasbro, directly at 785-229-9517 with questions.

A $500 non-refundable deposit is due immediately and the balance of the purchase is due within 5 days of listing end, by means of cashier's check, bank loan check or other certified funds. No checks or money orders. Cash in person is fine. While the deposit is payable via PayPal, the balance should be handled with overnight delivery (PayPal fees are too exorbitant for large purchases/sales).

Buyer is solely responsible for all shipping and handling arrangements.

Thank you for looking!

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum. Take a close look at the guts of the Chevy Volt battery, powertrain

Sat, Aug 9 2014

Just how intimate would you like to get with the powertrain in a Chevy Volt? If you're anything like YouTube user d55guy, then spending a half hour filming yourself taking apart the battery pack, motor, inverter and more for a look inside sounds like your idea of fun. After all, this way you get to see the cooling system, the heavy safety kill switch and count up the individual cells in the battery modules. Fun! Turns out, we also enjoy languidly paced Volt dissection video goodness, and we think you might want to see it as well. So, we've embedded two videos below and if you don't have a better understanding of how the Volt is put together after watching them, well, at least you can't say we never tried to show you anything. Given that what's really happening here is the organized 'destruction' of an expensive and potentially dangerous object, let's talk safety. There's a serious disclaimer at the beginning of the videos and on the YouTube description page, but we feel the need to repeat the gist of it here: do not try this at home. The creator of the video says he is a trained engineer and has been doing things like this "for the better part of a decade," so he apparently knows what he's doing. With that in mind, watch it all below. When you're done seeing the insides of a Volt powertrain up close, if you need more filmed EV dissection/destruction, check out this video designed for first responders approaching a damaged Tesla Model S. 2013 Chevy COPO Camaro announced with two new engines and manual option

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Chevrolet is following up the 2012 COPO Camaro with another limited run of the drag-strip-ready production car for 2013. Ditching the superchargers, the 2013 COPO Camaro can only be equipped with one of three naturally aspirated V8 engines, and other new features include the option of a manual transmission, new front springs, some minor styling changes and a lower starting price of $86,000. All cars are designed to abide by the rules of the NHRA's Stock Eliminator or Super Stock classifications, depending on in which series buyers wish to enter their Chevrolet Camaro.
Returning for 2013 is the 427-cubic-inch V8 producing 425 horsepower, but the new engines include a 325-hp 350-CID V8 and a 375-hp 396-CID V8. Buyers can select to purchase all three engines, and each will be matched with the sequence number of that car; the track-only COPO cars will not have vehicle identification numbers and can't be registered for street use.
Chevrolet is also offering unique enthusiast-specific options such as a COPO Build Book and the opportunity for owners to help assemble their car's engine at the Chevrolet Performance Build Center in Wixom, MI.
