72 Chevy K5 Blazer 4x4 With 396 V8 Chevy Big Block Engine on 2040-cars
Dickinson, Texas, United States
Up for sale … 1972 K5 Blazer with the rare 396 Chevy Big
Block V8 engine. This blazer runs great with the motor being redone and a lot
of adders done to the motor. I have had this blazer for a short time, but I
know that it was garaged kept and only driven once a week. Has a small bit of
rust on the bottom of the door and has a bondo spot that is cracking. Top needs
work on the back so it’s not going with this. You will probably have to recover
the front seats and get a new steering wheel. So, not really much to do for
improvements to make it look more awesome. Rather than that she is solid. It
has aftermarket gauges, a dana 44 front and a 12 bolt rear. New 35" tires,
a 3" lift, and a bikini top. It has the original back seat with the seat
belts. Has cd player and also has two spot lights on both the driver’s side and
on the passenger’s side. This is one good looking and great running Blazer. It’s
a real head turner. The 396 Big Block V8 is a POWERFUL, awesome sounding engine. Title in hand and transfer will be
done securely through C J Stommel & Associates Auto Dealership, they have
been in the auto selling business for over 24 years at the same location in
Houston for all of those 24+years, so no worries there. Buyer to pay for any
shipping cost. I am patient and will help you with arranging for shipment to
your door. I bought this just recently and I am only selling it because I'm
trying to come up with a down payment for a house. It's a great truck that I
had wanted for so long and I wish I could keep it. If I didn't HAVE TO sell it,
then I absolutely would not be selling it. Thanks for looking and good luck.
This add will run for 10 days only and if not sold then I’ll be taking it to
sell at a local classic muscle car dealership. It will not be relisted so buy
it here while you can. The car dealership will be selling it for WAY more than the
amount that I am offering to sell it for here ………. 10 days.
I will work on my end to get this shipped anywhere you
need it after payment of course. Buyer pays shipping, but I will actively help
you every step of the way and have a lot of patience if you are trying to get
the cheapest shipping possible and have to put off getting it picked up
immediately. I will of course send you a receipt and the title signed over to
you immediately.
I am also selling my HUGE 35ft RV and my 1967 Impala that
also has a POWERFUL, awesome sounding 396 Chevy Big Block V8 engine. I’ve also
wanted that car for so long and just bought it too. Now I’m lower on cash, but
want this house I saw more than these vehicles, so I’m selling them. Check out
my other listings if you’re interested in a 67 Impala or a huge 35ft RV. All 3
are going one round for 10 days here and I will not be relisting any of them.
They will all be sold to car/RV dealerships in Houston. |

Chevy's low-cost pedestrian avoidance to debut on 2016 Malibu
Tue, Jul 28 2015The mainstreaming of safety technologies that began on luxury vehicles will get a big boost from General Motors later this year. The General says it plans to offer 22 driver assistance systems across its product portfolio of 2016 models, starting with the redesigned Chevrolet Malibu - the one that we know will keep tabs on teenagers for the benefit of parents. Pedestrian avoidance will be another of its available options. Instead of kitting the sedan out with numerous and expensive radar arrays, the GM system uses the camera mounted next to the rearview mirror that is already used for the lane-keeping function. New software lets it detect pedestrians, and when it detects a potential collision with one, it can alert the driver and brake autonomously if the driver doesn't react. Eventually, engineers want to give it the ability to do the same with cyclists. Because it uses existing hardware updated with new code, GM says the application costs "a few hundred dollars." GM demonstrated the Front Pedestrian Braking preventing a crash with a dummy pedestrian at speeds up to 15 miles per hour. Automotive News reports that it will reduce the severity of impact up to 40 miles per hour, but "may not be of much use in collisions at higher speeds." That feature will also join the options list of the Cadillac CT6. The press release below has more on GM's driver tech soon on the way. Safety engineers will develop and test these and other safety technologies for products around the world at GM's new, 52-acre Active Safety Test Area at its Milford Proving Ground near Detroit. The $14 million facility officially opened Friday. "Our comprehensive safety strategy of helping customers before, during and after a crash continues," said Jeff Boyer, vice president of GM Global Vehicle Safety.
Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon get updated tachometers due to graphical error
Sun, Feb 8 2015After James Bearing bought a Chevrolet Colorado, he noticed a discrepancy between the truck's spec sheet and the truck's tachometer: Chevrolet said 3.6-liter V6 in the little pickup produces 305 horsepower at 6,800 rpm, but the the tachometer indicates a redline at 6,500 rpm. So either he wasn't making as much power as he was promised, or the tachometer display was incorrect. Bearing said he asked Chevy about it but got no response. Until now. A General Motors spokesman said the rev limiter is indeed set for 6,800 rpm, but the tach graphics "are slightly off" in the Colorado and the GMC Canyon, and submitted an SAE horsepower certification to back him up. If you're wondering how such a thing got past quality control... well, let's just say you're not alone. GM is going to fix "the graphics on future trucks," which makes it sound like Bearing will just have to learn to live with the indicated redline he's got. He could always pretend he's driving a sleeper, with four more ponies waiting to be unlocked in the danger zone for those who dare. Junkyard Gem: 1985 Chevrolet Sprint
Thu, May 21 2020For in the 1985 model year, General Motors began selling Chevrolet-badged Suzuki Cultus hatchbacks in California. Sales of the cheap three-cylinder econobox in the rest of North America followed soon after (with the Canadian version known as the Pontiac Firefly), and did pretty well considering the crash in gasoline prices during the middle 1980s. Starting in 1988, the facelifted Sprint became the Geo (and, later on, Chevrolet) Metro. Here's one of the very first Cultuses sold on our shores, found in a San Francisco Bay Area car graveyard. Amazingly, the primitive rear-wheel-drive Chevrolet Chevette remained available all the way through 1987, competing with the thriftier front-wheel-drive Sprint in the same showrooms. For 1988, Pontiac started selling a rebadged Daewoo LeMans, so the Sprint/Metro never lacked for intra-corporate competition. Inside, you'll find the same stuff most mid-1980s Japanese econoboxes got: tough cloth upholstery and long-wearing hard plastics. Suzuki quality in 1985 wasn't quite up to Honda or Toyota levels, but you weren't paying Honda or Toyota prices for the Sprint. MSRP on this car started at $4,949, or about $12,000 in 2020 dollars. The cheapest possible 1985 Chevette cost $5,340, while a new no-frills Ford Escort would set you back $5,620. Subaru, however, could have put you in a punitively unappointed base-model Leone hatchback for just 40 bucks more than the Sprint that year. I think I'd have sprung the extra for a $5,348 Toyota Tercel, a $5,195 Mazda GLC, or— best cheap-commuter deal of all that year— the $5,399 Honda Civic 1300 hatchback. I was 19 years old and driving a Competition Orange 1968 Mercury Cyclone that year, and I recall feeling pity for Chevy Sprint drivers, new-car smell or not. Still, these weren't bad cars for the price, though a Sprint with an automatic transmission was a real character-builder. Got three cylinders and uses 'em all! 48 horsepower from this hemi-headed SOHC 1-liter. The Turbo Sprint — yes, such a car existed — had a howling 70 horsepower. The hood-latch release is a rectangular button that resembles a badge. 1985 Chevy Sprint Commercial The highest-mileage, lowest-priced car you can buy. 1985 holden barina commercial The Australian-market version was the Holden Barina, and the TV ads featured the Road Runner. 1983 SUZUKI CULTUS Ad In its homeland, this car got screaming guitars and a drive through New York City for its TV commercials.
