This is a 1994 Chevrolet Blazer 2 door. This was nearing the end of the full size K
series Blazer before it was rebadged as the Tahoe. This is one of the finest examples that you
will probably see. It has been
meticulously maintained. It currently
has 111k miles on it and is hard loaded with nearly every option. This only had
a drivers seat for a power seat option.
It has all power equipment and a tilt wheel. From what I've been able to discover the truck
was bought new her in Colorado. The
second owner purchased it 13 years ago.
It has been garaged and it definitely shows. It also has the more desirable manual shift
transfer case. No electric motors to
give out when you need it most.
·
It has new paint which is a gorgeous black with
a deep gunmetal metallic gray lower half. It was then clear coated and
polished. It is in incredible condition! The paint shop then used 3M clear bra
material to cover the lower rockers to protect it from rock chips which would
normally show up in this area. I just
can't say enough about this paint job.
It's hard to get black to lay down this good. The door hinge pins and
bushings were also replaced along with some other small pieces when it was in
for the paint. Total was $3300.00.
·
The engine was replaced about 30k ago. A factory replacement 5.7 TBI fuel injected (350ci) GM crate
engine was used to keep with the originality and more importantly,
reliability. It was done at a reputable
shop in Denver and while there a tall K&N air filter took the place of the
factory unit. Previous owner stated it
was a little over $3,000.00 for the replacement.
·
Exhaust.
It was redone around the time the engine was replaced. Starts at the factory manifolds. No headers to leak and cause problems. It now has a Magna flow exhaust and Hi-Flow
cat which spilt into duals running out the back. There are black chrome tips finishing it off
which give it an incredible look. The
truck has a mild rumble to it. It's not
obnoxious, loud and droning when you're driving at highway speeds. It's clean with a nice note. I
believe that was about $750.00. It passes the strict Colorado A.I.R. emissions program with ease.
·
Interior.
It is gray cloth which is in near perfect condition! The carpet is very nice for the age as it looks to have been running
floor mats the majority of it's life. Seats
are as comfortable as if new and not worn out with broken down side bolsters,
torn material, etc. I've added a new,
billet steering wheel and hub assembly for personal preference but the horn is
not hooked up through this wheel. The horn works
with the factory wheel. I'm negotiable if the winning bidder wants just the
factory wheel. I'd like to keep the
billet one. Factory wheel is included with the sale price.
The stereo system is all factory and works perfectly. It does have upgraded speakers and a hidden amp
in the back as well as an Alpine CD changer under the drivers seat. The head unit is contained in the overhead console. The system looks OEM but the sound quality is greatly improved over the factory system. It is as clean and solid as the truck it's in.
The front two roll ups have a mid level degree of tint added to them that
matches the rear glass.
·
Tires and wheels were replaced with very nice polished 17" alloy rims
wrapped in Remington LT275/70R 17 all terrain tires. I
would estimate that they have about 90-95%
tread life left. No weird wear patterns,
etc. The truck drives nice and straight
and rides super smooth. I believe they
were $1700.00. ·
Drivetrain.
The truck was ordered with most options which included the factory tow
package. This gets you 3.73 gears and
the posi-track. Z-71 package as
well. All fluids, filters, gaskets etc
were replaced and serviced when the engine was done. That includes the trans (700R4), transfer
cases and both front and rear differentials, etc.
·
I replaced the lights rather than cleaning up
the factory ones. They were starting to
show their age with slight fading. This
detracted from overall condition of the truck.
They are all new to factory specs.
No Pep-boy specials with the "European look" or those
other weird designs. I like the OEM, factory GM look. The truck looks even better now. The new owner will get all of the factory
original lights that were removed. Also,
while I was up there I added a chrome billet bow tie to finish it off.
·
I have a file folder of receipts for hoses, fuel
pump, seals and gaskets and other little odds and ends which shows the truck
has been very well cared for. If there
was an issue the owners fixed it.
The detractors that I see are the elastic document holders
on the visors are sagging which they all do in time. I've pinned them up so they are
presentable. It has a small crack on one
of the dash panel screws in the upper left side of the dash. You can see it in one of the pics if you look
close enough. Minor but mentionable. The windshield has some age appropriate
pitting to it. I was planning on
replacing it if I keep it. Near perfect
clear glass is what I prefer. This is
still in decent shape but I'm just picky about the glass.
I just can't say enough about the condition of this
Blazer. It handles, rides and runs
extremely well. It is a very comfortable
truck. It represents one of the cleanest
examples of this series of Chevrolet trucks that you will find. This is the example that others should be
measured against. It's a great two door Blazer with tons of life left in it. Lifes unexpected changes forces the sale of many of the toys to include this one.
I would strongly, strongly encourage that you have an
independent inspection done prior to bidding on this truck. I'm confident that the appraiser will agree
that it has been kept in incredible condition and is ready to go another few
decades down the road! It has a clean
Carfax which shows me as the third owner.
ASK ALL QUESTIONS
PROR TO PLACING A BID! YOUR BID IS A
BINDING CONTRACT. AGAIN, I STRONGLY
ENCOURAGE SERIOUS BUYERS TO SEND A REPUTABLE INSPECTOR TO LOOK AT THE
TRUCK. IT WILL HELP TO ANSWER ANY
QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS THAT YOU MAY HAVE WHEN PURCHASING A VEHICLE SIGHT
UNSEEN.
I will do what I can if you'd like to look at the truck in
person but please be considerate and give plenty of advanced notice. I have a busy work and personal schedule that
I'll need to work around. SHIPPING: Buyer will make all arrangements surrounding shipping of the vehicle. I will do what I can on my end to work with the carrier of your choice but you are responsible for shipping arrangements and payment to the carrier. PAYMENT: A non refundable deposit of $300.00 is due within 24 hours of auctions end. Remaining payment is due within 7 calander days from auctions end date. The reserve is in place for reasons of fairness. It is very reasonable considering what this truck is and its condition. Again, send an independant, qualified inspector to look at the vehicle. I'm sure they'll be impressed with its condition.
On Oct-18-13 at 16:16:33 PDT, seller added the following information:**********UPDATE: Had a few of questions that I thought I'd address. I found the reciept for the GM engine along with some other docs that came with it. Thought I didn't have it but it was buried in the file. Yes, the K&N filter was ordered with the recharge kit and it will be included. It also has a Chiltons manual that will go with it. Yes, the full size spare is excellent. Still has the hairs on it and looks to be brand new. It's a Goodyear Wrangler on the perfect factory silver steel wheel. I don't see any signs that this wheel was ever put into service. Yes, I have two sets of keys for it. No, to the best of my knowledge and all of the information I have on this truck it has never been smoked in. No, I don't take payments. The truck and all associated documents, title, etc. will be released once valid payment clears. Correct, the trucks been in Colorado since new. Any other questions just ask. Thx

Before General Motors created the Geo brand for cars built or designed by its overseas partners, the Chevrolet Division put its badges on U.S.-market versions of the Toyota Corolla Sprinter, the Suzuki Cultus and the Isuzu Gemini. Those cars were known as the Nova, the Sprint and the Spectrum, and all became Geos starting with the 1989 model year. Today's Junkyard Gem is one of the last Chevy Spectrums ever sold, found in a Denver self-service yard a few months ago. Midway through 1988, the Chevrolet Spectrum abruptly became the Geo Spectrum and was assigned to the 1989 model year. This car was built in May 1988, making it one of the very last of the pre-Geo Spectrums. The Chevrolet/Geo Spectrum was available as a four-door sedan and as a three-door hatchback, from the 1985 through 1989 model years. For 1988 only, a Spectrum Sport Coupe package, featuring some trim upgrades and these rad decals, could be had on the hatchback. This car was essentially identical to its Isuzu-badged counterpart, the I-Mark. In 1988, the MSRP for the cheapest possible Chevy Spectrum hatchback (the stripped-down Spectrum Express) was $6,495, while its somewhat better-equipped I-Mark twin started at $7,439 (that's $17,128 and $19,617 in 2023 dollars). Meanwhile, the base Hyundai Excel hatchback listed at $5,295 and the Yugo GV cost a hilarious $4,199 ($13,963 and $10,941 in today's money). Power came from this 1.5-liter SOHC four-cylinder, rated at 70 horsepower. A turbocharged version with 110 horsepower was available as well. You could get an automatic transmission in the Spectrum, but this car has the base five-speed manual. This car didn't get the optional air conditioning, but at least it has the traditional Isuzu HVAC control icons featuring blow-dried hair and high-heeled dominatrix boots. Just over 170,000 miles on the odometer. Someone installed a pretty good (for the 1980s) Blaupunkt Charlotte CR148 cassette deck in the dash. This was a necessity if you wanted to enjoy full appreciation of the music of the era. The Spectrum is special! It's as slick as city rain. "I didn't spend a lot of money but with my Spectrum it looks like I did." Joe Isuzu mocked Toyota salesmen when pitching the I-Mark. As was nearly always the case during the 1980s, the JDM ads for the same car were much more fun. They should have recreated this commercial with Spectrums.

General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking. That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum. Here at Autoblog, we love unexpected debuts at auto shows – and judging by our Detroit Auto Show comments and traffic, you do, too. Surprise reveals have been fewer and farther between in recent years with so many ways for vehicles to be teased or leak out, but this week's show has been a revelation. More to the point, it's been a series of revelations, with automakers from around the globe successfully delivering a brace of concept and production surprises. It's made our jobs a lot more exciting and challenging this week, and even though it's actually more work to react and run-and-gun when the sheet is pulled on a surprise reveal than it is to publish an already-written embargoed story, we've had more fun covering this show for you than any domestic show in memory. We hope you've enjoyed the surprises along with us. To that end, borrowing the words of an unnamed automaker PR flack, we'd like to thank the following automakers for enduring "mountain of antacids" and that "creeping sense of paranoia" necessary to keeping ones' wares totally under wraps until the sheets are pulled off the sheetmetal: Buick Avenir concept Chevrolet Bolt concept Ford GT concept Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Hyundai HCD-15 Santa Cruz concept And while we're at it, we'd like to throw in an shout-out to Detroit's substantially revised and revitalized Cobo Center, and in particular, the redone Michelin media center, which is arguably the single best accommodations for writing show stories that we've encountered on the entire international circuit. Well done, everyone. Thank you, and keep the surprises coming. Auto News Detroit Auto Show Buick Chevrolet Ford Hyundai Volvo 2015 Detroit Auto Show
