I have a 1997 Chevy Blazer 4 door Utility 4x4 for sale AS-IS. It started losing power, then about a month later it started knocking. I parked it when it started knocking and I only start it up now to move it so that I can mow around it. It might need a motor or just some engine work done, possibly a rod bearing replaced. I don't have the time to rebuild or replace the motor myself. It has almost 193,300 miles on it. It has power steering and brakes, tilt wheel, A/C, AM/FM CD radio, intermittent wipers and cruise control. It does not have power windows or doors. It has the 4.3 Vortec 6cyl engine and has an automatic transmission. It also has a class III/IV hitch. Besides the engine trouble, the windshield is cracked and it needs the exhaust patched. When it started losing power it acted like a clogged converter, so I cut it off and put a temporary piece of pipe in. It also needs a set of tires. All the drivetrain components including the transmission and transfer case are in good shape. It would make a good work or first project vehicle for someone. I could get 18mpg around town and usually 23+mpg when traveling. Thanks for looking

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.

Hot Wheels Camaro to make big debut at Indy
Fri, 05 Apr 2013Chevrolet handed over the keys to 33 Hot Wheels Camaro Convertible Indianapolis 500 festival cars this week. Race directors get the luxury of driving the droptops around Indianapolis in an ongoing tradition with roots all the way back to the 1960s. The stunt is supposed to remind area residents that the Indy 500 is right around the corner. The cars are our first look at the special Camaro Hot Wheels Edition in convertible form, and they are slated to head to dealers after a one-time production run. The cars also represent the first time in history full-size Hot Wheels have been offered for sale by an automaker.
The cars will be available in both the previously seen coupe bodystyle and this convertible configuration, and will feature metallic blue paint and special wheels with the iconic redline accent. Buyers will be able to choose between the V6-powered 2LT trim and the V8-powered 2SS guise.
Hot Wheels says the original Custom Camaro toy was one of the original 16 1:64-scale diecasts, and it remains one of the company's most valuable collector items today.
