This is a one owner 1993 full size blazer that I drove daily through 2004 then it was parked at our farm and driven around there a couple times before being parked basically out of use.  It sat for a couple years whereupon I decided I'd start to drive it again [I always really liked it].  I put in a battery, a little fresh gas and tried to fire it up - no go. So I put some gas in the throttle body and it started right up.  Diagnosis no fuel - bad fuel pump.  Instead of trying to replace the fuel pump and whatnot since I am not the mechanic I was 10 years ago..... I'm selling it here with low reserve.

It is a solid truck for someone to fix up or lift or do something cool with I'm just not skilled enough to do it.  It's like a barn find.

It needs at the very least a fuel pump, fuel filter, exhaust from the catalytic converter back and a very thorough cleaning inside.  All the fluids are old.  I'm the only person who ever drove it.

I kept this truck because I always liked it a lot and figured that I'd put a plow on it or someday drive it again but I have too many cars and trucks [please see my other listings] basically I'm cleaning up around the farm and my various properties.

This truck is a perfect candidate for Overhaulin' or any other car fixup show.

Passed PA inspection in 5/2003 with 208,240 miles - driven 5,000 miles since.

Previous inspection mileage was 193,995.

New fuel pump, filter and exhaust parts are included....

the thorough cleaning it needs, unfortunately, is not.

The rear carpet is not salvageable but the rest of the carpets should be ok with shampoo.  Back seat was never really used - passenger seat is OK too.

Up until when I stopped using this truck it always ran great and was well maintained.

Has a 5.7 / 350 engine & 4 speed auto trans w/OD.  Replaced the trans with a factory rebuilt unit at some point.

See photo of window sticker for details on specs.

Has K5A4 Preferred Group - Sport Package

Heavy duty trailering package / Off road chassis package / Locking rear differential / 6,250 GVW - 3.42 rear.

Noted issues-

The driver side door is hard to open and close - needs oiling.

The driver seat is a little off - it has a small hole and the frame was welded before.

The driver side door mirror is cracked.

Both rear tires have slow leaks and are probably no good from being flat.

The tailgate is stuck closed and the lift cylinders on the rear glass are bad.

There is a small dent on the passenger side by the rear wheel.

There are a couple rust spots on the hood that are quarter to half dollar size.

All glass is OK no cracks were observed.

Driver door panel and armrest are pretty worn and the button caps from the power window buttons are missing.

Original window sticker, spare tire and owner's manual included.

I'm no expert but it is 100% original [other than the radio] and has to be a straight solid truck - was never in any accidents.

Please review the description and pictures carefully before bidding.

I'll gladly answer any questions and post more pictures if requested.  The motor is 100% stock and I forgot to take a picture of it.  Will do asap.

All sales are final, no warranty, this sells as-is and will need repairs to be considered drivable.

Terms - F.O.B. 18946; $500 minimum deposit by paypal within 24 hours or payment in full if you prefer.

Please do not bid if you do not plan to buy, don't have the money or have not read the description carefully.

Must be towed away.  I will help load.

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.

GM cutting vehicle trim options to save money for electrification

Sun, Mar 1 2020

Information continues to filter out about GM's plans based on comments the automaker made during its Capital Markets Day event in February. GM President Mark Reuss said the company's push to save money by rationalizing the number of build combinations will continue in 2020, carrying on the work done in 2019. As GM Authority covers, last year, the carmaker cut 3,500 components across model lines, a 12% drop in the number of parts it needed to stock in its plants. Reuss used the next-generation Chevolet Equinox and GMC Terrain as examples for more cost efficiencies, saying build possibilities — which include international markets and their options — will be cut by more than 50%, and use more shared parts. "We will reduce total trim levels on Equinox and Terrain from eight to six," Reuss said, "reduce engine variants from 11 to 5, reduce build combinations from more than 200 to less than 100 per program, and see significant cost savings of an already paid-for architecture that took the mass out, helping us self-fund electrification programs." GM will plow a large amount of the money it saves into its ambitious EV program. In 2017, the automaker said it intends to have 20 electric vehicles on the market by the end of 2023, some of which could be shared between brands. An automotive analyst at Seeking Alpha and a piece in Automobile attempted to put specifics to what we should expect. As Automobile points out, the first two EVs in the 20-car program are already on sale, being the Ariv Meld and Ariv Merge eBikes available in Belgium and The Netherlands. We've seen the Cruise Origin autonomous rideshare taxi, although we don't know when it will hit the road. The next three, which we should see in the metal shortly, are two Cadillac EVs and the GMC Hummer EV pickup. The Cadillac pair are expected to be sized like the XT4 and XT5, and along with the Hummer, should hit the market starting in late 2021.

Want a V8 on the cheap? Buy a work truck

Thu, Aug 3 2017

In case you didn't notice, V8 cars have gotten pretty expensive. If you want a modern muscle car like the Dodge Challenger R/T, Ford Mustang GT, or Chevy Camaro SS, you'll need between $34,000 and $38,000 for a stripped out example of one. The cheapest of those is the Challenger, and the priciest is the Camaro. These are also the cheapest V8 cars the companies offer. But if you absolutely have to have a V8 for less, there is an option, work trucks. As it turns out, all of the Big Three offer their most basic work trucks with V8s. And because they're so basic, they're pretty affordable, especially when sticking with the standard two-wheel drive. A Ram 1500 Tradesman with a V8 can be had for as little as $29,840, which is a little more than $4,000 less than a Challenger R/T. For a bit more at $30,275, you can have a Chevy Silverado W/T, almost $8,000 less than a Camaro SS. The most expensive is the V8 Ford F-150 starts at a starting price of $30,670, which is a bit over $5,000 less than the Mustang. Of course you'll be in an ultra bare bones vehicle with few comforts, and the price will go up if you add stuff, but we're bargain hunting here, and sacrifices are sometimes necessary. Besides, what you lose in comfort, you gain in loads of cargo space and towing (try to look at the bright side). Also, as a side note, all three trucks are available with optional electronic locking rear differentials. At the discounted price of these trucks, you still get a heaping helping of power. The most potent of the trio is the Ram 1500 Tradesman with 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque generated by a 5.7-liter V8. Compared with the Challenger R/T, the Ram is up by 20 horsepower and they're tied for torque. The value proposition is even more stark between the two vehicles when looking at the price per horsepower. Each pony in the Ram costs $75.54, while the Challenger charges you $90.91. The Challenger is also more expensive per horsepower than its close competitors. The F-150's 5.0-liter V8 is just barely behind the Ram with 395 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. That's still more power than the Challenger, and it matches the torque of the 2017 Mustang GT. On the down side, it still would be down 20 horsepower on that same 2017 Mustang, and it's behind by 60 horsepower and 20 pound-feet on the new 2018 Mustang GT. The F-150 also just edges out the Mustang in the dollar per horsepower measure.
