This is a collector's quality 1990 Chevy K5 Blazer Silverado 4x4. I special ordered it new from Lonestar Chevrolet in Houston, Texas (the old AJ Foyt dealership). The salesman who wrote the order was my Scoutmaster! The original build sheet, window sticker, Dealer's promo brochure and other original buyer's docs are included. I have owned and driven it since then- no offroading and had it professionally maintained. It is all original except for a 4 inch lift to accomodate the larger tires and a high performance free flow exhaust. The body is excellent with ordinary wear and a few paint chips- no dents and no rust. It was professionally repainted its original white color 8 years ago. The glass is excellent with only one small windshield ding. Sliding glass side windows and rear window excellent. All power windows work but could use some lubing. Tail gate is good but could use some refinishing to fix minor blemishes. Inside the leather seats are shiney and in excellent condition. Needs new carpet or just clean it as you like. Inside trim is good but needs some minor odds and ends that are available on line. AC is cold. The 350 cu engine is solid and tight. I drive it daily. This is an original, clean, one owner, top of the line Blazer and rare to find. I am selling it to make room in the garage for a new classic car. Buy it for memories or show it with a modest makeover.

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.

GM recalling nearly 4,000 vehicles over airbag concerns

Four different General Motors vehicles from the 2012 model year are being recalled over a potential airbag issue. The driver's side airbag shorting bar in the 2012 Buick Verano and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, Cruze and Sonic might make contact with the airbag terminals, even during a crash. If so, the airbag won't deploy when it should, possibly increasing injury to the driver.
The recall is expected to begin on February 13 for the 3,896 units that might be affected. GM will notify owners who can then take their vehicles to dealers to have the airbag coil replaced. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below has more info.

GM cars and SUVs recalled for leaking transmission fluid

General Motors is recalling more than 194,000 vehicles from 2018 to 2020 due to transmission fluid leaks. The leaks stem from an auto stop-start component that may have been installed with loose or missing bolts. The leaking fluid can affect the transmission's performance, and if it leaks onto a hot exhaust component, could potentially cause a fire. GM says that to date, it knows of no accidents or injuries related to the defect. The issue affects models from all four GM divisions. From Chevrolet, the affected vehicles are: 2018 Malibu, 2018–2019 Cruze, 2018Â–2020 Equinox, 2018Â–2020 Traverse, 2019Â–2020 Blazer At Buick, the following models are included: 2018Â–2019 LaCrosse, 2019Â–2020 Encore, 2019Â–2020 Enclave, At GMC, the recall includes: 2018Â–2020 Terrain, 2019Â–2020 Acadia Cadillac has two affected vehicles: 2019Â–2020 XT4 and 2020 XT6 The recall is scheduled to begin in mid-December. Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted. Dealers will inspect the transmission accumulator, and replace those with loose or missing bolts.
