1986 S-10 Blazer 2 Door V8 Conversion, Former Show Truck/ 12 Sec Daily Driver on 2040-cars
Colonial Heights, Virginia, United States
You are bidding on a former 1986 S10 Blazer V8 conversion Show truck/race truck. The truck has right at 1000 miles on the build. Engine is a rebuilt 350 late model block pushing roughly 380 HP. I have it hooked up to a TH-350 with a 3600 stahl (the truck launches great about 3200 rpm). This trans was built to handle 650 HP(just in case I wanted to spray it or supercharge it.. was debating it but onto another project now). Currently the truck is set at stock height with 20 inch CHROME rims and good tires all the way around. The rear end is a 10 bolt posi-track with 4:11 gears. The Car will run 12 sec 1/4 miles all day. and with the size tire and rim you can drive it to and from the track 60mph = 2800 RPM. The car has a custom exhaust(which is LOUD, it competes with my big block chevelle), and has custom Halo HID headlights.
As for the interior. I say it WAS a FORMER SHOW CAR. as now I have taken a good bit of the interior out and used it for another project however. the interior I have replaced it with is still better than 98% of blazers and s10s you will see. Both bucket seats are covered. there is no center console anymore.. just the racing b&m shifter... back seat folds down fine, and I put a cd player in it with some speakers up front which will also go with the car. As for the body and frame this is one of the best you will see... The body is a 9.9 out of 10... IT IS ABSOLUTELY RUST FREE, LASER straight' and the paint is fresh and less than a year old. It is a custom color, I called blue gun metal, with a hand done pinstripe down each side to a red chevy symbol( paint and body work were over $5000 fyi). The frame has been powder coated and then rubber coated to protect from the elements. I also have a set of 3:42 gears that fit the rear end that I will sell with the truck, in case you'd rather have a VERY nice truck and get a little better gas mileage and go a little slower ;) Please dont hesitate to ask any questions. I want the winning bidder to be very satisfied with the purchase, and I will be happy to give anyone any details I may have left out about the truck!!! |

2020 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban and GMC Yukon all spied with production lights
Fri, Mar 22 2019One of our spy photographers just caught a smattering of full-size GM SUVs out testing, including the Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban and GMC Yukon. Previous spy photos of the next-generation of these big GM SUVs have revealed that GM is going with an independent rear suspension design, and these shots confirm the news once again with our best look at the hardware yet. Check them out from the rear, lined up like ducks in a row to see the beefy control arms down there. This will undoubtedly give the big SUVs a more compliant ride, and should bring it back into touch with the refinement from the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator. The new bits we get to see with these shots are production headlights and taillights that are shaping up to look pretty neat. Most distinguishable are the GMC Yukon's LED DRLs. These look a lot like the C-shaped LEDs outlining the headlights on the Sierra, but they have an extra LED strip on top of the C. The parts of the taillights that we can see look significantly different than that found on the Sierra, showing GM is planning on having a great deal of differentiation there. We can sort of see through the mesh covering the grille to what appears to be a classic horizontal bar style front opening. Chevy is predictably dialing the crazy LED strip design back for the Tahoe and Suburban. The parts that are lit up look a whole lot like the headlight fixtures on the 2019 Silverado. That truck uses a stack of lights with the actual headlights separated from the DRLs. We can see the same thing going on here, with the headlight up top and curved LED DRL strip sitting below. It's tough to say if the designs are exactly alike, but we expect to see an extremely Silverado-esque look once all the camouflage comes off. Chevrolet's taillight design differs from its donor truck like the GMC, showing off a curved, vertical series of LEDs out back. Once production lights start popping up like this, we know the vehicle is moving closer to its end game. A reveal sometime later this year could be in the cards for GM's next batch of full-size SUVs. It certainly needs them quick, as Ford rockets ahead with increased Expedition production announced earlier this week.
GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title
Thu, 12 Sep 2013General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.
So, how do you actually pronounce that automaker's name?
Thu, Jan 21 2016You probably have that friend who always says Porsche wrong, or maybe it's someone who keeps reminding you it's actually two syllables. Whichever side of the pronunciation debate you fall on, you'll find someone to root for in the video above. And before you ask, this was all the video team's idea. So don't get mad at me for being the voice of reason. BMW Chevrolet Hyundai Nissan Rolls-Royce Videos Original Video nissan qashqai
