1980 Chevrolet K5 Blazer 4X4

Silverado

Okay K5 fans, and all you eBayers out there on the interweb..  Let’s see who is paying attention.  This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION.  I am starting the bidding at a penny.  I have faith that the people of eBay can set the market for this Blazer..  The last bidder gets it!  Keep that in mind if you have a tendency to place bids willy nilly late at night..   You may win this one..  I will expect the winner to actually pay for it too.

On the auction block today is a good and solid K5.  It is a 1980 1/2 top model it is a 4 Wheel Drive and has a newer 350 V8 crate engine.  I like this truck because it is solid.  I’m not saying “no rust” because I can see a little in the rockers and I pictured them.  But this is a very dry Blazer.  The underside that I pictured is all solid.  No weird patchwork either.

The engine runs strong.  I don’t know how old the engine is or when it was installed but it just is one of those 350s that reminds us why that engine is so good.  A good 350 is about the best engine ever to be put in a car or truck or boat or anything else for that matter.  I put a new Holly 4 Bbl carb on it too because I couldn’t help myself.  I just really like that set up..

Anyway, yes the engine runs well and yes the transmission shifts properly and yes the 4X4 works like it is supposed to too.  Mechanically the k5 is in really good shape all around.  It drives tight the shocks are good the brakes stop straight and true.  There is not a bunch of wander in the steering.  Also the electric back window works perfectly from the inside but not with the key on the outside.

The Chevy looks good too.  The paint is fresh and the color is a really deep blue, although not a show quality job..  I think it is better than 90% of these out there.  The tires and wheels ane high quality and there is at least 75% tread on the rubber.

The inside is a little tired but it’s also all original.  Nothing lasts forever and the seats have held up pretty well considering this rig is over 33 years old.

I think this Blazer would be a great driver for a person that wants a vehicle like this for trips to the mountain or for fun off road camping adventures..  The top can come off in the summer and these K5s have a million other uses too.  Tow the boat, safe ride for Jr.,date night at the rodeo?

This Blazer has all of the vintage appeal and will surely be one to hold on to for future appreciation.

I am setting the reserve very low and I know the K5 will sell the first go around as long as we all play by these rules.

#1.  Only bid if you have intentions to buy.

#2. Ask any and all questions before bidding.

#3. Please contact me BEFORE BIDDING if you have zero or negative feedback.

#4. This is an AS-IS sale.  I have done my best to describe it exactly as I see it but it has no warranties or guarantees except a clean and clear legal title after payment.

#5. I will not accept Pay-Pal for the balance payment of the K5.  Pay-Pal is for the deposit only, the balance must be paid by certified check or wire.  Legitimate and legal buyers only please.

Just be real and genuine and I will make sure that the winning bidder is happy with his or her purchase.  I have 100% positive feedback and I plan on keeping that.  Also, I will end the sale for the right offer so don’t wait till the last second and worry about missing out.  Just call me and we will work out a fair price..

I’m Justin my Phone number is 503-969-5127

Some 2012-13 Chevy Volts may not have enough battery coolant

Mon, Jun 23 2014

The 2012 and 2013 model year Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in vehicle may have a battery glitch caused by low coolant levels. No recall has been issued and General Motors is taking care of the issue at no cost to drivers. Some of the affected Volts may have lower-than-advisable coolant levels because of some pesky air pockets in the car's cooling circuit. When the coolant levels get too low, the charging system for the battery powering the car's onboard generator (i.e. the Rechargeable Energy Storage System, or the RESS) may be shut down, turning one's Volt into a run-of-the-mill gas-powered car, and a pricey one at that. The Car Connection says GM is advising owners of the '12 and '13 Volts to contact their local Chevy dealer for a free fix. GM representatives didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from AutoblogGreen for more details. We believe this is a separate issue than the one that brought 8,000 Volts back to the dealers for a battery coolant fix, what GM called a "voluntary customer satisfaction effort," a few years ago. General Motors sold 23,094 Chevy Volts last year after selling 23,461 Volts in 2012, so that fix-it list may get fairly lengthy. Check out a GM-Volt.com user thread related to this issue here. *UPDATE: Chevrolet spokesman Randy Fox confirmed in an e-mail to AutoblogGreen that the company issued a service bulletin to dealers that they may need to top off coolant levels on certain Volts because of the issue, and that the vehicle will "return to normal charging operation" once that's done.

GM might outsource vans to AM General

Thu, Nov 26 2015

General Motors will possibly boost production of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon at the Wentzville Assembly Plant in Missouri by contracting out some commercial van manufacturing to AM General. Demand for the two midsize trucks continues to boom, and GM would like to take advantage of the strong market for them. The possible deal came to light in a letter to workers at the factory, according to Automotive News. "This potential partnership would free up production capacity and allow the organization to capitalize on our ability to build midsize trucks to further satisfy customer demand," a portion of the document allegedly said. AM General would reportedly only take over assembly of the cutaway versions of the Chevy Express and GMC Savana. Customers and critics have quickly embraced the latest Colorado and Canyon since their introduction. The Chevy just won back-to-back Motor Trend Truck of the Year awards. GM also had to add a third shift and extra workers in 2014 just to keep up with demand. The Wentzville plant even increased employment on the weekends earlier in 2015 to assemble an extra 2,000 of the trucks each month. While the two pickups boom, deliveries for the Chevy Express and GMC Savana are down 26.9 percent and 26.6 percent respectively through the first 10 months of the year. GM doesn't break out numbers for the cutaway versions, but they make up about a third of production, according to Automotive News. AM General built the Humvee for the US military and does some contract work with automakers. For example, the company's Indiana factory now produces the Mercedes-Benz R-Class for export to China. Here's hoping this potential deal will help both GM and AM General keep their factories humming. Related Video:

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.
