1976 Chevrolet K5 2wd Blazer on 2040-cars
Dothan, Alabama, United States
I HATE TO ADMIT THAT I HAVE OVER 13K INVESTED IN THIS TRUCK YOU CAN BUY IT NOW FOR LESS THAN HALF OF THAT. Blazer is extremely road worthy and although I cannot warranty it I feel that it could be driven anywhere. I lost my eyesight and ability to drive Doctors thought they would be able to restore it so I started to have this blazer built After many operations it was not meant to be So I am putting it up for auction This is a 1976 Chevrolet K5 2WD Blazer that needs to be finished I have installed a Crate ZZ383 motor (see the GM website for all manufacturer specifications) Chevrolet 700r4 4-speed automatic floor shift transmission 23" Lokar floor shifter New, never installed SoftTopper convertible top Photos of Blazer with convertible top installed is not my blazer I copied them from the website for illustratrion purposes only Almost new matching set of tires New shocks New custom made drive shaft New braking system including rotors, pads, shoes, break lines, and master cylinder New radiator New power steering pump All new hoses and belts MSD ignition set New Holley 650 CFM carb New K&N air filter All new items on this truck have less than 300 miles of use ( My brother comes over and drives it for me occasionally while I ride. ) The truck performs flawlessly. You can leave it as is and have good daily driver or replace the dash pad, the carpet, speedometer cable, fuel sending unit, and finish up exterior rust spots and paint and have a truck that looks as good as it drives. Truck has approximately 70,000 original miles but since I don't have a speedometer cable hooked up to it I'm selling it as miles unknown. Truck originally had air conditioning but when I replaced the motor I did not re-install the air conditioning components. If you want AC you will have to install a new system. I am selling a lot of my toys that required eyesight to use so check out my other auctions. I will be adding two metal detectors and extremely high end audio equipment that is a little too complicated for me to work THANKS FOR LOOKING. CHECK OUT MY OTHER AUCTIONS. |

2014 Chevrolet Impala [w/video]
Fri, 15 Mar 2013Can A Fleet Queen Become a Fullsize King?
On paper, the Chevrolet Impala is a pretty strong seller, posting annual sales that have hovered right around 170,000 units for the last two years, but it only takes one trip to practically any rental car agency to discover where the majority of those sales have come from. In fact, General Motors told Autoblog that a full 70 percent of Impala sales last year went to fleet companies for things like rental cars and government vehicles. Logic tells us that this is neither good for resale values nor name equity, so Chevrolet is getting ready to roll out an all-new Impala with improved comfort, styling and technology, hoping to turn the tables on its retail-to-fleet ratio.
Chevrolet's sedans have come on quite strong in the last few months with the introduction of the Cruze diesel and the SS sedan, but while these will likely be low-volume sellers, there's more pressure for the new Impala to perform well as GM looks to slash fleet sales and compete with the wide variety of full-size sub-luxury sedans. Riding on a platform shared with the Buick LaCrosse and Cadillac XTS, the 2014 Impala will compete against the Hyundai Azera, Ford Taurus and Toyota Avalon on the more traditional side, while also looking to take a bite out of somewhat sportier models like the Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger twins and the Nissan Maxima. We headed to sunny San Diego to see if this totally new Impala can stand on its own without the assistance of fleet companies and rental agencies. [w/video
Here are a few of our automotive guilty pleasures
Tue, Jun 23 2020It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. The world is full of cars, and just about as many of them are bad as are good. It's pretty easy to pick which fall into each category after giving them a thorough walkaround and, more important, driving them. But every once in a while, an automobile straddles the line somehow between good and bad — it may be hideously overpriced and therefore a marketplace failure, it may be stupid quick in a straight line but handles like a drunken noodle, or it may have an interior that looks like it was made of a mess of injection-molded Legos. Heck, maybe all three. Yet there's something special about some bad cars that actually makes them likable. The idea for this list came to me while I was browsing classified ads for cars within a few hundred miles of my house. I ran across a few oddballs and shared them with the rest of the team in our online chat room. It turns out several of us have a few automotive guilty pleasures that we're willing to admit to. We'll call a few of 'em out here. Feel free to share some of your own in the comments below. Dodge Neon SRT4 and Caliber SRT4: The Neon was a passably good and plucky little city car when it debuted for the 1995 model year. The Caliber, which replaced the aging Neon and sought to replace its friendly marketing campaign with something more sinister, was panned from the very outset for its cheap interior furnishings, but at least offered some decent utility with its hatchback shape. What the two little front-wheel-drive Dodge models have in common are their rip-roarin' SRT variants, each powered by turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. Known for their propensity to light up their front tires under hard acceleration, the duo were legitimately quick and fun to drive with a fantastic turbo whoosh that called to mind the early days of turbo technology. — Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski Chevrolet HHR SS: Chevy's HHR SS came out early in my automotive journalism career, and I have fond memories of the press launch (and having dinner with Bob Lutz) that included plenty of tire-smoking hard launches and demonstrations of the manual transmission's no-lift shift feature. The 260-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder was and still is a spunky little engine that makes the retro-inspired HHR a fun little hot rod that works quite well as a fun little daily driver.
Supercharged 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 takes the C7 beyond the ZR1

The Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.
After a bright-yellow false start, here is the real thing: the fourth-generation, 2015 Corvette Z06. If Chevrolet makes a ZR1 version of the C7 Corvette, it's going to be absolutely mega, because the Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.
