1972 K5chevy Blazer on 2040-cars

Honest 1972 Chevy Blazer driver door skin repaired early 80s. This truck is all original & has a very solid frame. I'm the 2nd owner. It's a super rare truck that is always going up in value and unless your neighbor next store has one you just don't see them very often....This truck is in need of some small amounts of sheet metal work in a few areas only. Some rust & bubbling in the paint not bad for a 41 year old truck. Driver door skin was replaced in the early 80's do to pulling up to close to a pay phone and could use work again being 30 years has past. Small rust area on passenger side front fender & driver side rear quarter up top has rust but only the outer sheet metal rusted off not rusted threw. Very honest & original truck frame, body panels, paint,& interior w/tach & a very desirable single wall top most people want over the double wall see all photos. Take a good look at this truck not much to do to get it all done without all the Chinese body panel parts . Some of these other Chevy Blazers you see selling for 25-30 thousand dollars you may or may not know what your getting. They look really nice! but you have to ask yourself do you really got an all American Classic or not . Don't be shy to ask the sellers for some before body and paint photos if your spending thousand of dollars on one . You may be surprised of what answers you'll get . The rocker panels ,rocker boxes, doors & windshield frame are most common to rust complicity out on these trucks. This truck still has them intact. The bottoms of the doors where your seeing the bubbling in the paint are also common areas for rust to start . As for the interior of this K5 its in great condition! The dash was never cut for an over sized radio/CD player to fit in the space of an older style AM radio that in itself is rare! most of the time they have been cut out to make them fit This old gal still has all the original seats & vinyl upholstery with NO rips or tares on the two front buckets or rear bench. As you see with these other Chevys online this also is a rare commodity. If they were easy to find seats they would be inside them 25-30 thousand dollar cars and some are but then some aren't. Floors are solid no rust holes at all, front windshield frame is also solid no rust there, driver & passenger side floor pans are also common to rust out . This blazer still has them in tact and just has some surface rust from moisture from the carpet. It also has the original carpet that needs replaced. I would suggest having the floors rhino lined so that you don't get the moister problems that caused the surface rust to start in the first place before a carpet replacement. It has a 4"lift but not hard to get into it sits head to head with the new GMC trucks hight. I didn't get around to fixing the exterior of the truck I focused mainly on the internal parts. This truck has a mild RVcam & edelbrock manifold with an edelbrock1408 carb & a hei distributor runs really good sounds nice! Also I've done rear drums, shoes, front rotors ,calipers, front pads, pitman arm, drag link inner & outer & new battery all in 2013. I wanted to be sure of the reliability of the truck as this trucks weight is a lot to have to push off the road. Unless your built like Arnold Schwarzenegger was in the 80's where this trucks stops is where it sits so it was important to me to be sure of its good running condition. Still has some good rubber on the tires around 80%. Also let me say that this is my weekend cruiser and milage will change as I still enjoy driving it on sunny days. This Chevy Blazer is being sold as is and the buyer will be responsible of pickup or shipping arrangements . I reserve the right to end this auction at any time do to it being for sale locally. This can be a great project for the upcoming winter months and needs to go to someone who has been looking for that all original Chevy K5 blazer. Act fast as these tend to go up in value in the spring. I feel I've got it priced right at the (buy it now price) as there is a little work that still needs done. It's under value at my reserve. So buy now and save and work on it at your own pace. The last photo you see in the listing is a completed and fully restored Chevy Blazer not the one for sale in this listing but this is how they look restored . If it don't sell then you'll see it in the spring as a completed project with a much higher price tag with before, during restoration & completion of work photos having no hidden body filler & new metal going in place as this old gal deserves it PAYMENTS: Will be non refundable $1000 dollar deposit do immediately at auction end with Paypal or bank wire and 7 days for the remaining balance to be paid in full. If you don't have the money on hand please do not bid I will report all no payers to Ebay inc. So happy bidding and enjoy the auction... |

2022 Chevrolet Silverado LT Trail Boss adds 3.0-liter diesel option
Mon, Jul 19 2021Order books just opened for the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, which, in case you hadn't heard, is almost unchanged compared to the 2021 Silverado. The overhauled Silverado and GMC Sierra that we caught in spy shots several times last year and were expected to launch this year have been delayed. Until that pickup gets here, Chevrolet and GMC will add "Limited" to the names of the Silverado and Sierra. Fleet guides for next year's truck show the official model name as Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTD. There are a few interesting features coming next year, though, like the Multi-Flex tailgate joining the options list for Silverado HD trucks. GM Authority also reports that the 2022 Silverado LT Trail Boss adds the 3.0-liter oil-burner with 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque as a third engine option, which should be a big treat for the off-roading crew. Whereas the GMC Sierra AT4 already offers the 3.0-liter diesel, the Silverado LT Trail Boss only offers the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8s, both bolted to GM's ten-speed automatic transmission. Then there's the Custom Trail Boss that adds the 4.3-liter V6 as an option, and it and the 5.3-liter V8 only get 6-speed automatics. At the moment, Silverado trims that offer the Duramax charge a $1,045 for it over the 5.3-liter V8. If that gap holds true for next year, the diesel will just about evenly split the price difference between the LT Trail Boss with the 5.3 and the 6.2. Elsewhere in the range, Driving.ca said Canadian fleet guides show the 4.3-liter V6 and lower-spec 5.3-liter V8 with Active Fuel Management (AFM) instead of Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM) disappearing from next year's base Silverado WT. To clarify, AFM only shuts off half the cylinders in certain conditions, whereas DFM constantly adjusts how many cylinders are firing all the time. As it stands, that would leave the 2.7-liter turbo four-cylinder as the only engine option. However, those other two mills were the only ones left in the lineup that shift through a six-speed transmission, making it possible that they'll rejoin the options list with at least two more gears to choose from. It's not clear if GM will sell the Limited models alongside the majorly upgraded 2022 Silverado. The automaker did just that a few years ago, selling the previous-gen truck as a Limited trim alongside the then-new, current-gen. It certainly wouldn't be the only company to do so, either.
Chevy's latest Silverado videos assume we're idiots
Mon, Jul 6 2015UPDATE: This article has been revised to reflect that any mention of materials used in a future Chevrolet Silverado is speculation. Can we have a sound, rational debate about the merits of aluminum versus steel? According to Chevrolet's latest marketing videos pitting the Silverado against the Ford F-150, the answer is no. The tone of all three ads is almost Orwellian: steel good, aluminum bad. Of course, this will all be a hilarious joke when an aluminum-bodied Silverado comes in 2018. That's an if, as a member of the General Motor public relations team has reminded me that any articles regarding future product are pure speculation. Until then Chevy needs to sell the current Silverado, with its body comprised chiefly of steel, against the Ford F-150's lightweight aluminum panels. Instead of touting the merits of the "most-dependable, longest lasting pickup," the strategy seems to center around negative propaganda towards the 13th element. The tone of all three ads is almost Orwellian: steel good, aluminum bad. Of the three videos, the most fair is Silverado vs. F-150 Repair Costs and Time: Howie Long Head to Head. Basically: aluminum costs more than steel, it's more difficult to repair, and requires special equipment for body shops. In terms of Chevy versus Ford, the blue oval truck costs more and takes longer to repair - an average of $1,755 more and 34 more days in the shop, according to the ad. But why stop there when you can have pitchman Howie Long raising an eyebrow at random facts? When Silverado Chief Engineer Eric Stanczak says of the Ford, "It's manufactured in a way that combines aluminum, rivets, and adhesive in a process that's different than Silverado." Long responds, "Huh. Interesting." At the end of the video, Long says "I'd be interested to know what happens to insurance costs." Note he's not saying anything substantive. If Chevy's legal team could sign off on some facts about insurance rates, it would be in this ad. On our Autoblog Cost to Own calculator, there is no significant difference in projected insurance costs between the two trucks. But at least that ad has facts. The other two videos are pure hype. In Cages: High Stength Steel, real people are asked what they think of aluminum and steel in a room with two cages. Then a bear is released into the room, and the subjects scurry to the safety of the steel cage.
2020 Chevy Silverado HD vs. 2019 Ram, Ford heavy duty trucks: How they compare on paper
Tue, Jan 15 2019Last year was all about the latest in light-duty full-size pickup trucks, so this year, Ram, Ford and Chevy are launching the heavy-duty variants. The first out of the gate is the redesigned 2019 Ram 2500 and 3500 HD, and Ram dropped all the pertinent specs with the reveal. Chevy followed with the new Silverado HD in Chicago, and Ford revealed updates to the Super Duty at the same show. Ford hasn't released details on output, payload capacity, towing capacity or pricing for the updated Super Duty. As such, we'll be comparing the current Super Duty with the all-new Silverado HD and Ram HD. Both Chevy and Ram have revealed full specs for each of their respective trucks, leaving out only pricing, which we've estimated based on the outgoing models. You can see the raw details in the chart below, followed by extra information and analysis. Some things to keep in mind: These specifications cover all versions of the Ram HD, Silverado HD and Super Duty, such as 2500 and 3500 models, and all the way up to F-450. Specifications can vary widely based on engine, drivetrain, cab and bed configurations, so be sure to take a close look at the specific model you're interested in when you get particularly serious about buying. And of course, be sure to check out our car comparison tool if you'd like to look at other trucks on the market. Engines and drivetrains All three of these trucks offer gasoline and diesel engines, but only the Ram has two versions of the diesel. Starting with gas engines, Ram's 6.4-liter V8 has the power advantage with 25 more horsepower than the next-most-potent Super Duty, but the new Silverado HD's 6.6-liter V8 takes the torque crown at 464 pound-feet, nearly 35 more than the other two gas engines. The Ram is also the only one to pair an eight-speed automatic with the gas engine, whereas the Ford and Chevy make do with a six-speed. With diesel engines, horsepower is a weak point for the Ram. The Ram's entry-level turbo 6.7-liter inline-six is the weakest, as the only one with under 900 pound-feet of torque and under 400 horsepower. Even the high-output version only makes 400 horsepower, while the Chevy makes 445 and the Ford 450. But the tables turn with torque, as the Ram makes a best-in-class 1,000 pound-feet followed by the Ford's 935 and the Chevy's 910. Both the Ram and the current Super Duty diesels each get a six-speed automatic, but the new Silverado HD's diesel gets a 10-speed unit.
