~This is a beautiful 1972 Chevrolet CST K5 Blazer 4x4. 2 owners. Life long, rust free California truck that still retains both of its blue and yellow license plates. This truck has never seen a day of snow or a salty road in its life! Very rare factory black paint with factory black hard top. Power steering and power disc brakes. Tach. 12 bolt posi rear end. Np 205 transfer case. AC truck but compressor was removed. The truck also has aftermarket power windows and locks.

~The body and paint are beautiful! You very rarely see factory black Blazers. The truck is very straight and paint has a nice deep finish. It's had one repaint about 8 years ago and always been garaged. It appears to still have all of its original body panels. No accidents. The undercarriage is rust free also. Very dry truck!

~The truck runs and drives great! The 350 V8 runs Strong! It was recently rebuilt and has approximately 5,000 miles.  Fires right up with no smoke, leaks or funny noises. Nice lumpy cam, aluminum intake and 4bbl carb. Turbo 350 transmission that shifts nice and crisp. All of the 4x4 works fine. This truck can be driven anywhere without worries. Drive straight down the road 80mph all day long. No overheating issues.

~The interior is very clean. Dash is nice and uncut. Instruments are nice and bright. Seats are in good shape. Carpet is nice. All of the glass is good and windows roll up and down with ease.

~All in all this is a rock solid, very cool old truck that draws crowds and get compliments everywhere you go. Finding good rust free first generation 68-72 Blazers is getting really difficult, finding one like that is an original factory black truck is nearly impossible.

General Motors Recalls Nearly 780,000 Cars To Fix Deadly Problem

Thu, Feb 13 2014

General Motors is recalling nearly 780,000 compact cars in North America because the engines can shut down unexpectedly and cause crashes. The company says six people have been killed in crashes related to the problem. The recall affects Chevrolet Cobalts and Pontiac G5s from the 2005 through 2007 model years. U.S. safety regulators say the weight of the key ring and rough roads can move the ignition switch out of the run position, cutting the engine and electricity. If that happens, air bags may not work. GM says there have been 22 crashes from the problem. All happened at high speeds. Dealers will replace the ignition switch for free. GM says owners should remove nonessential items from key rings until the problem is fixed. GM cutting Chevy Sonic, Buick Verano production [UPDATE]

Sun, Jan 25 2015

UPDATE: A previous version of this story indicated that Orion Assembly would be idled for seven weeks, from February 16 through April 6. This was incorrect. The factory will instead only be idled for the weeks of February 16 and April 6. The story has been edited to reflect this. General Motors has announced that the factory responsible for the Buick Verano and Chevrolet Sonic will be idled for the weeks of February 16 and April 6, with blame being placed on excess supply. The Orion Assembly plant, about 45 minutes north of GM's Renaissance Center headquarters, employs about 1,800 people, but they'll be given a pair of furloughs as inventories of the sub-compact Sonic and premium compact Verano reach 127 days and 84 days, respectively. That works out to 26,600 Chevys and 9,800 Buicks waiting for buyers. According to Automotive News, the compact Chevy sales bested the industry average in 2014, jumping up nine percent versus the the overall segment's eight-percent gain, while the Buick sedan's sales were down four percent. When asked about the shutdown, a GM spokesman told AN that it will "build to market demand," while also pointing out that the company did not comment on production plans. GM's MPG overstatement could affect 2 million vehicles

Tue, May 17 2016

Late last week, GM admitted that three of its large SUVs fuel economy window stickers did not match their actual efficiency ratings, and so the vehicles couldn't be sold. The stickers on the 2016 Chevy Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Buick Enclave said their ratings were one to two miles per gallon better than they should have been. Officially, the number of affected vehicles sits at about 60,000. But Consumer Reports makes a good point: what's up with all of the previous model year SUVs that are basically the same vehicle? To wit: the 2016 model year vehicles are not substantially different than the 2015 or the 2014, or even going all the way back to 2007. On the EPA's fuel economy website, all of these older models will "have better stated fuel economy numbers than the new vehicles in GM's dealerships," Consumer Reports noted. CR's best point, and the one that makes the 60,000 number potentially grow to 2 million if all of the vehicles built on this platform are affected, is that "[i]t seems unlikely that the company would change the powertrain on these carryover models so late in their model cycles in a way that would cause a dramatic, negative impact on fuel economy." GM says that earlier model year SUVs are not affected and the EPA did not respond to CR's question about the potential for more discrepancies. We've seen automakers reverse course before, so if GM has to come out with a mea culpa soon, don't be surprised. GM is rushing corrected stickers to dealers so that the SUVs can be sold again, but a fix for the already-sold vehicles could be trickier to solve.
