1971 2wd Chevrolet Blazer Cst on 2040-cars
Middle Grove, New York, United States
Bought this ol' girl to cruise around and fix up a little over summer and now I am 70% sure I
have to sell it to cover some school and vet expenses. No I haven't had it very long, and no I haven't done a whole lot aside from clean it up and make it more road worthy.
Originally a 350/350 truck. It was passed around between a father, a son and their best friend for about 25 years before I bought it. Painted in 1995, top was smoothed and painted with it. It now has a stock rebuilt 454 with a Turbo 400 automatic. Lowered with dropped a-arms and dropped coils front and dropped coils again out back, 3" front/4" rear. Black interior with CD player and a Lokar shifter with an LED shift indicator. Paint is really nice for being 19 years old, but has some small chips here or there. Top is in great condition, with tinted glass but unfortunately the rear hatch needs the hardware to lock it as well as the lever arms to lift it and keep it elevated. It has power brakes and power steering. Originally a CST truck, it still has the original build sheet and has 93k original miles. All hoses and belts have been replaced within the last 200 miles or so, the engine/transmission was serviced, the rear end was serviced, a new battery installed, new rear 4" drop coils, new Lokar floor shifter with the fancy LED shift Indicator system, stock rear seat armrests installed, new stock mirrors, a few misc lights replaced, new sill plates installed and some other small knick knacks. This blazer is a great cruiser that constantly turns heads and receives waves of compliments and thumbs up. The bad: Rear hatch requires hardware to lift and lock the hatch; There is a small amount of bubbling in the bottom of the doors that has remained the same for the last 10 years or so....you can see it in the pictures. What does she need? Really in order to drive and enjoy it...nothing. The blazer is by no means perfect, it is not a show vehicle. It'll need some more TLC, maybe someone to go through and replace all the bolts with a new ARP bolt kit, ensure every bolt and screw hole has a new fastener in it....small stuff here or there. Feel free to ask questions and no I do not need help selling it. Don't ask what my lowest price is, if you'd like to negotiate I have no problem doing that when you show up with cash in front of my face. And no I will not do trades.....I am looking to cover expenses so I am not in the boat to trade a $18k car and $4k cash for this. Thank you for understanding. 518-867-6550 Blazer is sold as is, where is and as seen in the pictures which were taken 7/14/14. Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements and I will be as flexible as humanly possible. |

Chevrolet considering midsize crossover to slot between Traverse and Equinox
Mon, Jan 9 2017Crossovers are the new hotness, and automakers are looking to cash in by offering a size and shape for every customer. With Chevrolet's debut of the new 2018 Traverse in Detroit, which grew ever so slightly compared to the first-generation model, there is now a midsize-crossover-sized hole between the three-row Traverse and the compact Equinox. When asked about that obvious space, a Chevrolet spokesperson told us the company is looking into the possibility of expanding its crossover lineup. It should be a relatively simple thing to do, since all it would take is reskinning and rechristening the GMC Acadia with a bow tie, and we all know how much GM loves platform sharing. Although they're now different sizes, the new Acadia and Traverse still use the same platform; the Acadia is now on a short-wheelbase version of the C1XX while the Traverse uses long-wheelbase C1XX parts. A short-wheelbase Chevy built on the C1XX likely would be differentiated visually from both the Acadia and the larger Traverse. It may seem like flooding the lineup with more and more models would cannibalize sales of existing ones, but Chevrolet said it would rather have customers stay within the brand rather than going to another automaker. There have been whispers that some form of the Blazer name (possibly TrailBlazer) may make a return on a midsizer, but if it does don't expect an old-school body-on-frame SUV like the old one. In the end, if Chevy builds it, customers will come. Related Video:
Corvette Stingray designer lists five goals of new exterior shape
Fri, 12 Apr 2013Redesigning an icon is a difficult task, especially when you've got a blank sheet of paper in front of you and the all-new C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is intended to be your final objective.
General Motors has released a new short video featuring Kirk Bennion of the Corvette's exterior design team, talking about the challenges of sculpting Chevrolet's new flagship sports car and the five goals the team had to keep in mind as it worked. In the end, Bennion's team had the pleasure of seeing their hard work take center stage as the Corvette captured the world's eyes at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
GM tells owners not to use SUV wipers due to fire risk
Sun, Oct 11 2015General Motors is recalling 31,685 examples of the 2016 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia because a short circuit in the windshield wiper motor can potentially lead to a fire. Due to the danger, the company is asking owners not to use the wipers until the problem is fixed, according to The Detroit Free Press citing the Associated Press. A manufacturing defect in the wiper motor cover means that the electrical terminals can come into contact and cause a short. The part could "melt, smoke, or catch fire," according to a statement from GM. The company will get them fixed immediately, and dealers will replace the cover. If there's bad weather at the time the owner specifies to get the recall work completed, the automaker will come pick up the crossovers. Depending on parts availability, the automaker will supply a rental car for customers, as well. The issue was discovered at the factory. According to the company's statement, only 6,405 actually made it to customers, and they were notified immediately by overnight letter. The rest were in dealer stock. The affected crossovers carry build dates between August 18, 2015 and September 24, 2015. Of those, there are 29,295 in the US and 1,073 in Canada. GM Statement: General Motors has told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it will recall approximately 29,295 2016 model year Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia SUVs in the U.S. because the front windshield wiper motor may overheat when in use because of a manufacturing defect. In some cases, the front windshield wiper motor cover may melt, smoke or catch fire. The approximately 6,405 customers who have taken delivery of these vehicles were notified by overnight letter and are urged to contact a GM dealer as soon as possible to arrange a service appointment. These customers should not use the front windshield wipers until they have been repaired. If weather conditions prevent driving the vehicle without using the windshield wipers, GM will arrange to pick up the vehicle for servicing. If repair parts are unavailable, GM will provide a rental car at no cost until parts become available. The total population, including Canada, Mexico and exports, is approximately 31,685. About 25,280 of these vehicles are in dealer stock and will not be sold until repairs are made.
