Look what I've got here for you.         It's my 1999 Chevy Blazer 4x4 that's been totally customized from front to back and inside too. It's got a 4.3L V6 with 5 spd std trans. Stainless Steel Headers, throttle body spacer, K&N intake.       The customizing starts out front with head lights from a 2009 Avalanche, custom made grill, custom made bumper with led driving lights(24hr build time). The head lights are outfitted with HID low beams. Out back you can see Cadillac Tail lights, recessed license plate and led backup lights, molded in fiberglass 1/4 panel skirts and steel rollpan. Also on the body is rocker panel skirts and wheel flares from the USA model Xtreme Blazer. Inside the custom paint can be found along with seats from a Pontiac Grand Am including power driver seat and blue leds in the dash lights.          Also you can see in interior pic is a Genuine BEER TAP(Coors Lite) for a shifter handle.                       I replaced all the Ball Joints, all the Tie Rod Ends, Both CV axles with only maybe 30kms on them now and a fresh wheel alignment done by GM Dealership. The clutch is new last year with maybe 2000kms on it with a new release bearing as well. Brand new Spider injection system installed 2000kms ago, New MSD plug wires, E3 Spark plugs, new brake pads. It comes with 2 sets of wheels and tires which includes the 20 inch in pics plus a set of 15 inch for winter(Both sets of tires have better than 85% tread left on them).        If you look below the green stripe in pics, there is custom painting of Gears, Skulls, and Bio-hazard as shadowing.              This is alot of vehicle for the money so get it before some one else does.              The Blazer has NOT been smoked in and no pets have been inside.              This vehicle is advertised locally and auction may end sooner.  I put the Reserve quite low considering the amount of work done to this amazing ride.           The vehicle is being sold AS IS WHERE IS with no implied warranty or gaurantee.          A $500.00 deposit is required within 24hrs from auction end and transportation must be arranged by the buyer. The vehicle can be stored for a short period of time and after that storage fees apply. Please contact me if you need longer to store vehicle.

Junkyard Gem: 1985 Chevrolet Sprint

Thu, May 21 2020

For in the 1985 model year, General Motors began selling Chevrolet-badged Suzuki Cultus hatchbacks in California. Sales of the cheap three-cylinder econobox in the rest of North America followed soon after (with the Canadian version known as the Pontiac Firefly), and did pretty well considering the crash in gasoline prices during the middle 1980s. Starting in 1988, the facelifted Sprint became the Geo (and, later on, Chevrolet) Metro. Here's one of the very first Cultuses sold on our shores, found in a San Francisco Bay Area car graveyard. Amazingly, the primitive rear-wheel-drive Chevrolet Chevette remained available all the way through 1987, competing with the thriftier front-wheel-drive Sprint in the same showrooms. For 1988, Pontiac started selling a rebadged Daewoo LeMans, so the Sprint/Metro never lacked for intra-corporate competition. Inside, you'll find the same stuff most mid-1980s Japanese econoboxes got: tough cloth upholstery and long-wearing hard plastics. Suzuki quality in 1985 wasn't quite up to Honda or Toyota levels, but you weren't paying Honda or Toyota prices for the Sprint. MSRP on this car started at $4,949, or about $12,000 in 2020 dollars. The cheapest possible 1985 Chevette cost $5,340, while a new no-frills Ford Escort would set you back $5,620. Subaru, however, could have put you in a punitively unappointed base-model Leone hatchback for just 40 bucks more than the Sprint that year. I think I'd have sprung the extra for a $5,348 Toyota Tercel, a $5,195 Mazda GLC, or— best cheap-commuter deal of all that year— the $5,399 Honda Civic 1300 hatchback. I was 19 years old and driving a Competition Orange 1968 Mercury Cyclone that year, and I recall feeling pity for Chevy Sprint drivers, new-car smell or not. Still, these weren't bad cars for the price, though a Sprint with an automatic transmission was a real character-builder. Got three cylinders and uses 'em all! 48 horsepower from this hemi-headed SOHC 1-liter. The Turbo Sprint — yes, such a car existed — had a howling 70 horsepower. The hood-latch release is a rectangular button that resembles a badge. 1985 Chevy Sprint Commercial The highest-mileage, lowest-priced car you can buy. 1985 holden barina commercial The Australian-market version was the Holden Barina, and the TV ads featured the Road Runner. 1983 SUZUKI CULTUS Ad In its homeland, this car got screaming guitars and a drive through New York City for its TV commercials.

GM to trim Russian output, raise prices amid currency woes

Thu, Feb 5 2015

General Motors is shutting down its factory in Russia's second largest city, St. Petersburg, from the middle of March until the middle of May as the country's currency, the ruble, continues to give economists fits. The ruble's value has plunged due not only to western sanctions, but a precipitous fall in oil prices. We knew these factors were already impacting the auto industry there, as Ford reported in its 2014 earnings statement, and now they're forcing GM to cut production at the factory, shown above, that is responsible for production of the Chevrolet Cruze and Opel Astra. Meanwhile, Automotive News is citing Russian outlet Kommersant as saying that GM has hiked its prices in the country by an average of 20 percent over the past two months. While a GM spokesman confirmed the St. Petersburg plant would be shut down for the two-month span reported by Kommersant and AN, he would not confirm the price increase. Chevy to show redesigned Captiva in Geneva, will it come to US rental lots?

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

Unless you're renting a car or driving through Orlando, Florida (the rental car capital of the US), you'll probably never see a Chevrolet Captiva - the rebadged, fleet-only version of the old Saturn Vue - on our roads, but this crossover is popular in many other parts of the world. As such, Chevrolet announced that the Captiva will be getting an update for 2013, which will be unveiled next week at the Geneva Motor Show.
Coming off a pretty extensive refresh in 2011, the 2013 model year will bring even more changes to the Captiva like LED taillights, new 18-inch wheels and revised fascias with a new grille and fog lights up front and inset chrome exhaust outlets at the rear. New interior features include heated rear seats, dual-zone climate control as well as available options on some of the upper trim levels such as leather seating and keyless entry and start. We have yet to hear back from Chevrolet as to whether or not the updated Captiva will be making its way to a rental lot near you, as the model is only available in the US to fleet buyers.
Alongside the updated Captiva, Chevy is also showing off its new Trax in Europe, where the subcompact crossover will go on sale this spring. GM's press release for these two Geneva-bound models is posted below.
