Original 1959 Belair, Custom Air Ride, hot Rod, Sled, Lowrider, survivor, Chevy, on 2040-cars
Annapolis, Maryland, United States
I am listing the most reliable day driver car I have ever
had. I purchased this car 8 years ago and have put 22,000 miles on the car.
This beautiful car originally came from California, it was then in Washington
state. I purchased it from a man in Ohio. The car is solid. You can check out
all the pictures that I took of under the car. There no rot in any of the floor
panels and rockers. The car is a very
rare color combination of Safire Blue and white. All the trim inside and out is
in good condition. The front brakes have been converted to vented Disk Brakes.
The suspension is all Air ride with 1/8 manual valves. The great thing is you
can leave it pumped up in the garage and it will not lose any air for weeks.
You can slam the car down when you park it and it looks amazing!! I get stopped
every single time I drive the car. When you inflate the suspension it rises to
full stock ride height. I installed new
carpet and headliner when I got it. They are reproduction of stock. We
installed a very custom Hidden radio in the car. You just hit a switch under
the dash and the radio folds out of where the radio delete plate is installed.
It has a speaker in the front dash and 2 that are hidden in the rear speaker
panel. There are 2 amps in the trunk that power everything, including 2, 10
inch subs. I have a cable that comes from under the dash to plug in my i-pod or
my phone. I run Pandora radio through the radio. I did not want to install ugly
antennas on the car. The seats are original with very rear iridescent fabric
that you can see when the sun shines on the interior. Everything in the car works except wipers. I
never drive the car in the rain and if I get caught in the rain I have so much
rain x on the windshield they are not needed. I you want wipers fixed before
taking delivery, that can be arranged. Just call me and we can work out a deal.
I
would not classify this car as a show car, but 90 percent of the people who see
it would say that it is. I would give the car 9 out of 10. It is awesome but
not so perfect that you are afraid to drive it. As you can see by the amount of
miles I have put on it. When I purchased this car from Ohio I drove it home.
You could drive this home if you want. The transmission is 3 on the tree. The
car will cruise at 65 mph with no problem. As you can see from the pictures it
is a 6 cylinder. It gets great gas mileage. Maybe 22mpg? . I have never
actually figured it out. This car is the perfect cruiser. It is smooth and relaxing
to drive. I like it stock with the 6 cylinder. If you wanted to drop a v8 and
make it a Resto-mod this would be the perfect car. One just sold for 60k on Gas
monkey garage. I have seen several of these car sell in that price range on Ebay.
The wheels are chrome and are made by
Coy’s. They are 20’s in the back and 18 in the front. There is only one spot of
rust and that id on the passenger rear quarter panel. See the pictures! I have
a new NOS quarter that is included in the auction. Engine runs great, has new battery. Valves
are little noisy when it is 50 degrees outside but goes away when engine warms
up. Only does that when the temperatures drop. It does not do that in summer or
spring. Has fairly new cap rotor and wires. I would not sell this car but I
have 5 hot rods and another baby on the way. I need to finish other cars and
down size a little. Unfortunately more kids does sometimes mean less toy. Lol.
I do not have to sell this car but it will free up the cash to finish my 49
merc. Call me if you have any questions Mr. Ashley Thompson 443 994 5927. I
will answer any questions you have. (Please look at all the pictures before you

Autoblog's guilty pleasure cars
Tue, Mar 10 2015Guilty pleasures are part of life – don't even try to pretend like you don't have one (or two, or six). In the non-automotive space, this could come down to that secret playlist in your iPhone of songs you'll only listen to when you're alone; or think of that one TV show you really do love, but won't admit to your friends. I've got plenty, and so do you. Going back to cars, here's a particularly juicy one for me: several years ago, I had a mad crush on the very last iteration of the Cadillac DTS. Oh yes, the front-wheel-drive, Northstar V8-powered sofa-on-wheels that was the last remaining shred of the elderly-swooning days of Cadillac's past. Every time I had the chance to drive one, I was secretly giddy. Don't hate me, okay? These days, the DTS is gone, but I've still got a mess of other cars that hold a special place in my heart. And in the spirit of camaraderie, I've asked my other Autoblog editors to tell me some of their guilty pleasure cars, as well – Seyth Miersma, as you can see above, has a few choice emotions to share about the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Read on to find out what cars make us secretly happy. Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG This decadent convertible is the epitome of the guilty pleasure. It's big, powerful, fairly heavy and it's richly appointed inside and out. It's a chocolate eclair with the three-pointed star on the hood. Given my druthers, I'd take the SL65 AMG, which delivers 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. That output is borderline absurd for this laid-back convertible. I don't care. You don't need dessert. Sometimes you just crave it. The SL line is about the feel you get on the road. The roof is open. The air, sun and engine sounds all embrace you. It's the same dynamic you could have experienced in a Mercedes a century ago, yet the SL gives you the most modern of luxuries. An Airscarf feature that warms my neck and shoulders through a vent embedded in the seat? Yes, please. Sure, it's an old-guy car. Mr. Burns and Lord Grantham are probably too young and hip for an SL65. I don't care. This is my guilty pleasure. Release the hounds. – Greg Migliore Senior Editor Ford Flex I drove my first Flex in 2009 when my mother let me borrow hers for the summer while I was away at college. The incredibly spacious interior made moving twice that summer a breeze, and the 200-mile trips up north were quite comfortable.
Weekly Recap: Geneva's splendor reflects growing demand for ultra-luxury cars
Sat, Mar 7 2015Geneva is one of the most glittering auto shows in the world, but the list of high-powered and bespoke luxury cars was decadent this year even by the rich standards of the Swiss exhibition. It's great for enthusiasts to revel in the flame-throwing Aston Martin Vulcan, the racing-inspired elegance of the Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 concept and the insane performance of the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce, but there's a reason for all of this opulence: the luxury market is big business. And it's growing. IHS Automotive forecasts that so-called ultra-premium sales will nearly triple this decade from 123,000 to 353,000 units around the world. The estimate includes brands like Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari and Rolls-Royce, but doesn't count BMW, Mercedes and Audi, which offer less expensive models in addition to their high-end flagships. Though IHS includes Porsche and its relatively large volume in the study, the ultra-premium segment is still set grow at about the same rate, even without the German automaker's figures. So what is propelling all of this growth in the most expensive segment of the auto industry? Put simply, there's more rich people. IHS Automotive principal analyst Tim Urquhart pointed to economic expansion in China, market recovery in the United States and a surge in the lucrative technology sector as contributing factors. This dovetails with a research report by UK-based Oxfam, an international relief organization, which found the world's richest one-percent owned 48 percent of global wealth in 2014, and it's expected to increase to more than 50 percent by 2016. View 17 Photos Carmakers are moving quickly to capitalize with new products, expanding their portfolios with low-volume speedsters like the 800-hp V12 Vulcan at Geneva, and plans to enter new segments, like Rolls-Royce's strategy to make an SUV. "Ultra-premium carmakers are looking to explore ways of growing their product offerings, and thus their bottom lines, in this most potentially profitable of segments," Urquhart wrote in a report on the Geneva show. In a nutshell, there are more choices for people with more money. It's a good time to have expensive taste. Other News & Notes 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata production launches It won't be long now. The 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata arrives later this year, and it's officially in production. Mazda announced this week that the roadster began rolling off the assembly line at its Ujina factory in Hiroshima, Japan.
Next Chevrolet Malibu to have 'groundbreaking,' 'passionate' design
Mon, Dec 29 2014In our First Drive of the Chevrolet Malibu after its redesign in 2013 we wrote, "Chevy has quickly worked up a host of changes for its ever-important midsize sedan, and will be launching this 'there, we fixed it' 2014 Malibu like it's an all-new product." Still, no one cared. The Malibu has been mentioned in eight posts this year, all but two of them dealt with recalls, and one of those two was about a 2011 Malibu university science project. It came up in precisely zero posts from November 2013 to March 2014. That's why, according to a report in Automotive News, Chevrolet honchos are "hustling" to have a new Malibu ready in a year. Mark Reuss, General Motors' head of global product development, said it will have "groundbreaking design" and "groundbreaking technology," and asked investors who were showed a picture of it, "When is the last time you saw a [midsize] car this distinctive and this dramatic from General Motors?" Doubling down on the bullishness, Reuss said, "We've got our act together here on the midsize-car segment." Then, throwing every last chip on the pile, global design head Ed Welburn said the next Malibu's design will "make a significant statement" with "a very passionate design." Based on the number of comments Malibu posts get, we figure a fair few number of you would love for this to be the case; yet this is a lot of braggadocio to slather on a car that probably hasn't made "a significant statement" since Elton John had a number one record with Honky Chateau. That was 1972, if you're trying to remember. No matter the looks, the AN report says the new 'Bu will make a profit statement, selling for more money while costing less to produce. Alongside the Cruze, GM figures the pair will bring in an extra $800 million in variable profit in 2016. Which, in case it ends up being another 'butterface,' isn't bad for a silver lining.
