1965 Chevy Bel Air Wagon on 2040-cars
Amarillo, Texas, United States
This 1965 Chevrolet Bel Air Wagon is a complete frame off build. The wagon only has 2,800 miles since completed. All work was done by ACME body shop here in Amarillo, TX and all paint and body work was done by John Stromberg which if you have ever seen biker build off he did all of the work for Covington's Cycle. Needless to say this guy as well as ACME body shop is well know for the quality of hot rods they produce. A new factory grill was installed a couple months ago. The Wagon is Dodge Viper Red and has Ultra Leather Interior in all Red as well. The car is a factory air car and all works great. The 327 engine has only 2,800 miles on it and has Edelbrock Performer intake with 570 Holly & street avenger HEI distributer. 700R4 transmission with mild shift kit has only 2,800 miles as well. Rear end is an 8.25 ten bolt geared 3.55. The wagon has disk brakes on the front and drum on the rears. Power Steering, Power Brakes, and the Factory air makes the car a dream to drive. The wagon does have Air Ride Technologies Bags front and back and the tank is tucked away in the rear compartment. All front end components were replaced when the frame off build was done. The wagon is rolling on 245/50R16 with Torque Thrust II on the front and 255/50R16 with Torque Thrust II on the rear. The tires do have less than 2,800 miles on them due to change out. The pictures don't do this wagon justice. If your looking for a cool wagon that was done right and will give you the WOW factor, then this is the one... If you have further questions please feel free to let me know. And the wagon is for sale locally as well so if it should sell locally listing will be deleted...

Smaller Cars Endure Big Problems On Crash Test
Wed, Jan 22 2014In a crash test of 11 of the smallest cars on the market, only one vehicle received an acceptable rating. The rest received marginal or poor ratings in the study, providing evidence that supports a widely held notion that smaller cars are among the least safe on the road. No other vehicle group has performed as poorly on a new crash test than these mini cars, says the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the nonprofit group that conducted the testing. The latest results of which were released Wednesday. The Chevrolet Spark was the only car earning an overall "acceptable" rating on the small-front overlap test, and even that vehicle had its shortcomings, IIHS said. "Small lightweight vehicles have an inherent safety disadvantage," said Joe Nolan, the senior vice president for vehicle research at IIHS. "That's why it's even more important to choose one with the best occupant protection. Unfortunately, as a group, minicars aren't performing as well as other vehicle categories." The Mazda2, Kia Rio, Toyota Yaris and certain Ford Fiesta models all received "marginal" overall grades on the test, while the Mitsubishi Mirage, Nissan Versa, Toyota Prius C, Hyundai Accent, Fiat 500 and Honda Fit all earned "poor" ratings. Results from these sub-compact cars fare much worse than vehicles sized just a little bit bigger, IIHS said. Among 17 cars evaluated in the small category, five earned "good" ratings and five more earned "acceptable." Only introduced a year ago, the small-front overlap test has quickly become a key indicator of differences in automotive safety. IIHS introduced it as a way to replicate what happens when the front corner of a vehicle collides with a tree or utility pole at 40 miles per hour. In the real world, these sorts of accidents are more dangerous than others, in part because they bypass the front-end crush zones on most cars. Without a grade of acceptable or better, they cannot qualify for the IIHS' overall Top Safety Pick+ honor, given annually to the safest models on the market.
GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories
Wed, 06 Feb 2013As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
MotorWeek looks back at 1995 Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon
Sat, Jun 20 2015MotorWeek's Retro Review series gives us a nostalgic look back at some of the best sports cars and luxury sedans available in the 1980s and '90s. For its latest clip, the show shifts gears to remember the 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. Similar to the success of crossovers today, SUVs were tallying big sales and making big money for automakers in the mid-'90s. The Tahoe and Yukon filled slots in the market as steps down from the larger Suburban. These twins weren't wanting for space, though, with plenty of room to haul around a family. MotorWeek came away generally impressed too, and called the models some "of the better riding sport utilities we've ever experienced." This review comes with some jazzy, electric guitar licks to enjoy in the background.
