This car is currently registered and insured in Connecticut {since 2005}

1959 Chevy Belair 2 door sedan 348 Tri-power, Borg Warner 4 speed, "P" case posi 3:55 rear gear.

This '59 Belair has 100% RUST FREE original floors including the trunk floor. 100% original body panels.  Shipped in from California in 2004 to my location here in Bethlehem Connecticut. The car was painted in it's original Saphire Blue/Crestwood white back in 1986 in California and is still holding up well.I do see very small amount fo bubbling under the paint in the quater panels as seen in the photo but extremely small.  The car still looks awesom! Originally started life as a 6 cylinder 3 speed car now transformed into period correct muscle car.

I have spend over 25K on the car over the past 10 years. I have saved all receits.  Including:

1. Purchase and the professionally rebuilding of a period correct 348 Tri-Power engine. Over $8,000 spent {see last photo of dyno sheet
2. Purchase and the professionally rebuilding of a period correct Borg Warner T-10 transmission. $1,300 spent

3. Purchase and the professionally rebuilding of a period correct "P" case 3:55 Posi rear end $900 spent

4. Period Correct fender well headers installed. No exhaust installed, you will need an exhaust system.
5. Correct tri-power valve covers, batwing air cleaner, Harrison radiator, new front engine wiring harness installed,

6. Electics have been upgraded to Petronics electronic non point system, alternator replaced older type generator. {All new}

7. Complete front end mechanics done, including uppper & lower ball joints, powder coated A-trays, links, ends, steering complete.

8. Complete brake system is new, master cylinder, front brake lines, brake shoes, drums, wheel cylingers all NEW {needs to be bled}.

9. New gas tank, straps, sending unit installed.

10. All thee carbs rebuilt, Progressive linkage installed, new fuel pump, distributor has been rebuilt, new AC coil, All period correct

11. New complete C-A-R-S interior is included in auction,  the complete seat kit, new door panels, kick panels, rug, {headliner has been already installed}, seat buns, arm rest pads & bases included. {thousands of dollars spent here}

14. New door gasket, window fuzzy kits, wind lace and firewall installation kit included in action {still in boxes}

15. Four powder coated semi-gloss black 15x6 and 15x7 original GM steel wheels including four nearly perfect and very rare 1959 Chevy dog dish hubcaps.

16. Four 1960's vintage 14x6 E-T mag wheels with four brand new tires {zero miles on tires} are currently mounted.

17. NOS front and rear lower bumper valances {Impossible to find these!!}

18. NOS hood hinges and hood catch installed.

19. Cylinder heads rebuilt including all new valves, hardened seats, bronz guides. You can now run on pump unleaded gas.

20. Brand new "Coker" period correct spare white wall tire in trunk with orginal restored jack and trunk mat.

What I have here is a project car that needs to be completed.  This is currenty a non running/driving car. The motor, transmission and rear end are all installed in the car. The engine compartment is detailed to original specs and is totally breath taking to see in person!! The Engine has been run and tested on a dyno {I saved all machine work and dyno test result sheets}  but not run in car. All you need to do to make it run is buy a battery and add some gas to the tank. You will also need to bleed the brakes. The interior kits need to be installed. The hood {which is in totally perfect original condition} needs to be painted in the correct Saphire blue and the exhaust needs to be purchased and installed. This is a 100% original 348 hood with the correct factory drilled holes for the x-flag emblems.

Though not perfect, This car is a real beauty with nearly perfectly straight body lines. An original California car with perfect floors and a very rare 348 Big block tri-power 4 speed with Posi-traction drivetrain. I am sure with some work this car will be a show stopper as well as a excellent investment. The hard work is done, you just got to finish this project.

Please give me a call 203-597-7360 for more questions. I invite anyone interested to take a drive out and see the car in person. You won't be dissapointed!

You will have to trailer this car back to your location. I am located in Bethlehem Connecticut.

Thanks for looking!!!

On May-18-14 at 14:45:21 PDT, seller added the following information:

I do see very small amount of bubbling under the paint in exactly the same on both L&R quater panels, very small as seen in the photo. As stated the car was repainted back in 1986 almost 30 years ago. The job has held up very well during all this time.

The clutch pedal as a notching feeling when pushed in. I'm not sure why that has developed... possibly as the car has been sitting in my garage for a extended lenght of time, I'm sure it's an easy fix.

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.

Next-gen GM SUVs caught wearing new boxy bodies [w/video]

Wed, 15 May 2013

We recently drove the brand-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and found it to be vastly improved compared to the outgoing model. And now that The General's pickup trucks have been squared away, it's time to focus our attention onto their passenger-friendly companions, the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon (above).
Our spy photographers have passed along a huge smattering of photos (and a video), showing the new SUVs out testing. Both the short- and long-wheelbase models were spied, and while the overall shape of the vehicles hasn't changed all that much, we expect the updates to be substantial. In addition to new powertrain options, like GM's new small-block V8, we expect the interiors of both SUVs to get massive makeovers, providing better materials throughout their cabins and quieter, more refined environments. We even hear that some trick new suspension developments may be in store for upper-end models.
Visually, these spy shots allow us to see a couple of new details on the SUVs' front and rear fascias, including LED running lamps on the Yukon and some interesting LED taillamp treatments. Of course, the obvious third party missing from this set of photos is the Cadillac Escalade, but as we reported earlier, GM is working to further differentiate the 'Slade from the rest of the fullsize SUV lineup, and is working to make the new model "much less ostentatious."
