1958 Biscayne 348 tri-power, 4 speed. This car runs, sounds, and drives excellent. It tracks straight, and stops nice. It has all the upgrades you would want in an old car. Power steering, power DISC brakes, and electric fan. The frame and floors are all SUPER solid. Frame is perfect. NO rust. The floors were replaced a few years back. It was done professionally, and correctly, including a rubberized undercoating. No cheap patch job. In fact, you'd have a hard time telling they were replaced. The body is good, but not great. Looks good at 10ft, but has it's share of flaws. It has an older paint job. Basically, it could use a nice paint job. It deserves it. Same for the chrome and trim. All there and good, but some of it would need replacing for show. Interior is excellent. Only flaw is a headliner seam split near the back. Carpet and door sill plates are brand new,and the seats and door panels are near perfect.Glass is all good. Just one small vent window is cracked. Windows go up and down nice, and everything works but the speedo and amp gauge. Motor runs VERY strong, and does NOT smoke. Starts right up, and runs very smooth. Originally a 6 cylinder. It's only running on the center carb right now, but will run on all three. The linkage does work, but isn't factory correct. The clutch is excellent, and the Saginaw 4-speed shifts through all the gears really nice and smooth. It's a pleasure to drive. Exhaust is near new without ANY leaks, and it also has a fresh tune-up. Points, plugs, wires, condensor, cap and rotor, and battery are all brand new. Car sounds awesome. The only thing it would need to be a daily driver is an emergency brake cable. Other than that, ready to be enjoyed without worries. It will leave the typical old car drip or two of oil. Original valve covers and radio included, Bottom line, this a fairly rare car, with the perfect motor-tranny combo. It's super solid, so a nice paint job would return you every penny invested. Only going up in value. Best of all, it's priced with a reasonable reserve. Any questions, feel free to ask. My name is Jim, and I can be reached at (585) 261-6547. You can email as well. Please ignore the negative feedback left recently. It was one idiot, who lost a challenge over a very minor issue. Ebay doesn't allow for removing the negative comment once it's left. No disappointments with this car. Also, I will assist with shipping any way I can.

GM is quietly slashing prices on base models
Fri, Jan 30 2015While General Motors' fourth quarter financial figures haven't yet been released, the automaker seems to be weathering a potentially rocky time well, even beating third-quarter projections last year. To keep the climb going, the company is launching new base trims for several popular models that make them cheaper than ever but with tight dealer margins. The new entry-level trims are the Chevrolet Cruze L, Equinox L, GMC Terrain SL and Buick LaCrosse 1SV. Buyers lose some content by picking them, but the prices are slashed. According to Cars Direct, the biggest savings are on the LaCrosse, where customers pay $31,065, plus $925 destination, $2,570 less than the previous base 1SB trim but must accept things like 17-inch wheels and no cargo net in the back. If you're wondering how Buick can remove only a little equipment but cut the price so much, it's because the company also slashed dealer margins. According to Cars Direct, the difference between the invoice and MSRP for the LaCrosse 1SV is only around $150, compared to around $1,350 before. The disparity is even greater for the Cruze with an $81 difference in the prices, compared to about $600 for the LS version. Showrooms are expected to keep very low stocks of these trims, though. "Dealers use such vehicles to get people in the door, but they do not generally want to do high volumes of these strippers. The margins are next to nothing; they don't make much money off these cars," said Ed Kim, Vice President of Industry Analysis for AutoPacific to Autoblog. Dealers are also expected to advertise that these new base trims undercut major competitors. For example, the Cruze L rings up for about $2,320 less than a Honda Civic LX, according to Cars Direct. One potential drawback for buyers is that these models might not be eligible for incentives. While the attractive prices might get customers into dealers, folks may not actually end up driving home with these entry-level models. Kim indicated base trims also make up a small portion of the sales mix. "Consumers aren't asking for stripped out vehicles, even at the low end of the marketplace," he said. Zombie cars: 9 discontinued vehicles that aren't dead yet
Thu, Jan 6 2022Car models come and go, but as revealed by monthly sales data, once a car is discontinued, it doesn't just disappear instantly. And in the case of some models, vanishing into obscurity can be a slow, tedious process. That's the case with the 12 cars we have here. All of them have been discontinued, but car companies keep racking up "new" sales with them. There are actually more discontinued cars that are still registering new sales than what we decided to include here. We kept this list to the oldest or otherwise most interesting vehicles still being sold as new, including a supercar. We'll run the list in alphabetical order, starting with *drumroll* ... BMW 6 Series: 55 total sales BMW quietly removed the 6 Series from the U.S. market during the 2019 model year. It had been available in three configurations, a hardtop coupe, a convertible and a sleek four-door coupe-like shape. Â BMW i8: 18 total sales We've always had a soft spot for the BMW i8, despite the fact that it never quite fit into a particular category. It was sporty, but nowhere near as fast as similarly-priced competitors. It looked very high-tech and boasted a unique carbon fiber chassis design and a plug-in hybrid powertrain, but wasn't really designed for maximum efficiency or maximum performance. Still, the in-betweener was very cool to look at and drive, and 18 buyers took one home over the course of 2021. Â Chevy Impala: 750 total sales The Impala represented classic American tastes at a time when American tastes were shifting away from soft-riding sedans with big interior room and trunk space and into higher-riding crossovers. A total of 750 sales were inked last year. Â Chrysler 200: 15 total sales The Chrysler 200 was actually a pretty nice sedan, with good looks and decent driving dynamics let down by a lack of roominess, particularly in the back seat. Of course, as we said regarding the Chevy Impala, the number of Americans in the market for sedans is rapidly winding down, and other automakers are following Chrysler's footsteps in canceling their slow-selling four-doors. Even if Chrysler never really found its footing in the ultra-competitive midsize sedan segment, apparently dealerships have a few leftover 2017 200s floating around. And for some reason, 15 buyers decided to sign the dotted line to take one of these aging sedans home last year.
Peter Max staring down $1M lawsuit over Corvette collection sale
Wed, Dec 17 2014Pop artist Peter Max recently sold off his collection of 36 vintage Chevrolet Corvettes – one each from 1953 to 1989 – for an undisclosed amount. The new owners have already announced plans to restore some of them and auction the models off sometime soon. Up until then, the sports cars had been languishing in various garages around New York City for decades and were caked in dust and grime. However, Max's end of the transaction has just become more complicated, because two men are suing the artist claiming he employed them to complete the deal first. The men allege that Max hired them to broker the sale of the 36 Corvettes in exchange for a 10-percent commission, according to the New York Post. They claim to have emails and text messages proving the existence of the deal, and are taking Max to court for $1 million over the squabble. The collection of Corvettes was amassed in 1989 as part of a prize package from the television network VH1, and Max bought the cars from the winner intending on using them for an art project. He never got around to it, though, and parked the sports cars around New York, until he finally sold them over the summer.
