Bidding on a 1957 Chevy Belair 4-door hardtop, so let me start here first , car was originally a 265 v8 motor with Powerlide Trans, black & silver interior and dusk color paint. Now what it is now, DRIVETRAIN- 1989  350 roller motor that has been rebuilt, has new 1st stage Comp Cams Thumper roller cam, new valve springs, new air gap intake manifold with Edelbrock 600 cfm carb, has new stainless mid length headers, new aluminum finned valve covers, new 4-core aluminum radiator with new aluminum overflow tank, motor runs good (could use I think a bigger carb) trans - TH200-4R , has overdrive , but  the TV cable needs to be properly adjusted right before I would make it street worthy, rear is a posi original rear with 3.36 gears. INTERIOR- interior is still original with the exception of new chrome tachometer with shift light, has new oil pressure , voltmeter , and water temp gauges, still has original front bench seat , but no rear seat, I have brand new all new inside door handles for all 4 doors and I have 4 custom brand new door panels for it ,that will all go with car too. EXTERIOR-, car has just been put in primer just to make it look better then it did and to put it all in one color , still needs some body work done , the pass side rocker was started but needs finishing, the drivers side rocker needs some work, but I have metal for it that will go with car, there is rust issues on rear bottom of front fenders, bottom of trunk lip needs some work too, floors are solid up front, rear needs some work(nothing major) also on inside of car around the inner rearwheel by rear seat needs some patch work, frames rails thru out car are solid. Just had new rear leaf springs put on it and bushings, all new shocks on front and new air shocks on rear, all new brake work has been done, all new master cylinder, all new brake shoes all around , all new brake lines from fron to rear have been done, all new brake wheel cylinders , all new brake hardware, so brakes are good completely, has new electric fuel pump . I have mostly all of the trim for the car, hood rockets , hood molding, side molding etc.... Car will need headliner and carpet. Also car has brand new rims all the way around with brand new tires all the way around, front wheels 15x 4 with 165/80-15 front  tires and 15 x8 with 275/60-15 tires in rear, I have driven car only on the front street , and it has power , but until the TV cable for trans is adjusted properly , I don't want to take chances on screwing up the trans clutches . windows all roll up and down, rear pass door lock is broken and needs to be fixed so door will open. Car will need the exhaust finished (running with open headers now) and also trunk drivers side floor pan needs some work, also car has manual brakes and manual steering, any other ?'s , just ask and I will answer them to the best of my knowledge, clear PA title also. Buyer is responsible for all transporting of vehicle, I will assist where I can, also IF YOUR FEEDBACK SCORE IS LESS THEN 15 YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BID ON THIS CAR PERIOD AND YOU WILL BE REMOVED AND BLOCKED, also a $750 deposit via paypal WILL be due within 24 hours of auction end. Now this is a project car that to me needs just a little work to be street worthy, alot of work has been already done and alot of money has already been spent , my intentions were to keep it in primer and just have a nice street car hotrod or rat rod, but I bought back my Dart racecar and my time and money is being spent on that car now, so happy bidding, also the cowl tag and inside drivers side door jamb tag are still on car, can also be reached at 410-491-4132 to discuss anything about the car

Recharge Wrap-up: Phoenix Cars delivers ZEUS to Navy, Volt saves gas compared to i-MiEV

Thu, Apr 23 2015

Phoenix Cars has delivered its first Zero Emissions Utility Shuttle (ZEUS) flatbed truck to the US Navy. The electric flatbed will be used to transport maintenance materials around Naval Base Ventura County Port Hueneme. The Phoenix ZEUS features a 100-mile range, and can charge in just three hours. It also features vehicle-to-grid technology and direct power capability, allowing it to function as a mobile power station. ZEUS customers enjoy an eight-year/300,000-mile battery warranty and round-the-clock technical support from Phoenix. Phoenix launched an electric passenger shuttle last year, and years ago worked on an electric sport utility truck before shifting over to larger vehicles. Read more in the press release from Phoenix Cars. A man found that he used less gas by trading in his Mitsubishi i-MiEV for a Chevrolet Volt. Ben Rich saved fuel in part by using his Volt for road trips rather than needing to rent cars. Rich also found other benefits to driving a Volt, including more comfort, more freedom of movement and less range anxiety. Rich often had to turn off the heat in the winter to eke out precious miles in the Mitsubishi, which he needn't do in the Chevy, though he did have a gripe about the Volt using the gas motor to warm the car. ChargePoint has tallied over 9 million charging sessions for a total of 65 gigawatt hours of energy. Based on national efficiency averages of three miles per kWh and 23.9 miles per gallon, this has saved 8.2 million gallons of gasoline and 60 million pounds of CO2. This accounts for what ChargePoint calls a "huge environmental impact." Read more in the release from ChargePoint below. The Environmental Impact of ChargePoint Drivers Campbell, Calif.– We all know electric vehicles (EV) have enormous environmental advantages over gas vehicles. Plug-in EVs reduce carbon-based greenhouse gases, improve air quality and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. EV drivers on the ChargePoint network have had a huge environmental impact. With over 9 million charging sessions delivering 65 gigawatt hours of energy, EV drivers have avoided over 60 million pounds of CO2 and 8.2 million gallons of gasoline, and driven over 196 million gas-free miles. *Based on national averages: EV efficiency of 3 miles per kWh, gas efficiency of 23.9 mpg and a net savings of 0.924 pounds of CO2 per kWh.

Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
