Car was professionally appraised. This is what he said....
I have inspected the following vehicle and found a driver quality survivor. This car is what I'd call a backwards restoration!. What I mean is restoring the drive train and interior first. All the running gear is new and fresh. The motor is a new 350 ci 300 hp with new Edelbrock carburetor and intake. Its equipped with an H.E.I. distributor, headers and all new exhaust system. It has a rebuilt 700 R4 transmission with a B & M mega floor shifter. Also has been upgraded with a 9" Ford rear end and new brakes. Front suspension with upgraded with 2" drop spindles and power disc brakes and 605 power steering box.
The body is in very good shape with little or no damage, but has some minor rust in lower trunk deck lid. It's been shot with a semi-gloss nostalgia appearing paint job but needs repainted. All the stainless trim is complete and in good shape and bumpers, grill and hood bars are also straight but needs re-chroming to take the car to the next level.
Now the interior is this car's strong point. It's been completely restored inside with all new black dash and windo moldings. It has a Bel Air dash insert added custom auto sound AM/FM Stereo with hidden antenna and 6 x 9 rear seat shelf speakers. It has a flaming river tilt column and Corvette style leather covered steering wheel. Also equipped with nostalgia retro Sunpro tach. The seats front and rear, side panels and headliner have all been restored with the coveted Del ray interior package. Dynomat sound deadening and new carpets on floors and trunk.
Its got a new windshield and all glass has been re-set and restored with new glass channels and felts installed throughout. Also has new door and trunk seals and all rubber details. Fuel system was also replaced with new tank, hoses and sender. It has a gold Bel Air mesh in the grill and Bel Air quarter panel inserts on rear quarters. It rolls on Centerline billet wheels and radial tires.
New fuel tank and hoses. New balanced driveline. Flaming River tilt column with 605 pwr strg, new front end w/cross, drag & idler.Retro Sun Tach, New headers and exhaust. All new wiring original gauges rewired and working (except odometer)..New "classic radio" and electric wipers with delay.Floor pans and door posts replaced and d/s rocker panel. Dynamat through out interior. Heat, fan, vent and defrost all working.Original seats with correct stock "Del Ray" interior complete. All interior knobs, handles and arm rests correct new.All glass good, new window, door and trunk seals. New correct trunk carpet. New correct side and review mirrors.Centerline Wheels, all chrome in place.
Its ready to drive anywhere, but needs exterior restoration to be a top notch unit.

Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles
Mon, May 13 2024It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.
Nissan Leaf sets new November sales record, Chevy Volt drops again
Tue, Dec 2 2014When you talk to people in the plug-in vehicle industry, one theme you hear repeatedly is that the more plug-in cars that are out there, the better things are for everyone. One reason is that more EVs build a need for more public chargers, and more chargers mean more people see that plugging in is feasible. But there's still something to be said for old-fashioned competition, and in the sales race between the two long-running plug-in vehicles in the US, the Nissan Leaf is resoundingly beating the Chevy Volt for 2014. In fact, it won't be long before the EV's cumulative sales top the PHEV's. But that's a topic for another month. For now, we have the sales results from November. Unsurprisingly, Nissan set another monthly record (that is, the best Leaf sales in any November, the 22nd time in a row we've seen a monthly record) with 2,687 sales last month. That's up 34 percent over last November and up 35 percent year-to-date. Toby Perry, Nissan's director of electric vehicle marketing, said in a statement that, "Our 'Kick Gas' ad campaign and 'No Charge to Charge' launch in Chicago and Atlanta drove an increase in November Leaf sales. Even with gas prices falling across the country, consumers appreciate that the cost of driving a Nissan Leaf is still a fraction of that of a gas-powered car." Over on the Chevy side of the ledger, there were 1,336 Volt sales last month, down 30.4 percent from the 1,920 sold in November 2013. So far this year, Volt sales are down 16.4 percent and Chevy has sold 17,315 Volts in 2014. As we said last month, the Volt slump might be due to people waiting on the new version to make an appearance at the Detroit Auto Show next month before going on sale in the second half of 2015. So far in 2014, Nissan has sold 27,098 Leafs. Look for our detailed post of US green car sales in the near future. Until then, please discuss last month's Leaf and Volt sale in the comments, below. Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too
Fri, 07 Dec 2012We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
