1957 Chevy Bel Air Sport Coupe no post car.
I bought this from the second owner about four years ago and have probably put 1000 miles on it. I did add the Riddler Five spoke wheels but still have the original bias ply tires, steel wheels with hub caps that come with the car. Car has brand new tires as well. The car has 45k miles on originally as I am told by the second owner that did the restoration on it many years ago. Older lacquer paint that still shines well but has a couple of small spots (dime/quarter size) that the paint chipped on, has some checking on the roof. Interior is perfect, no rips, no tears, no stains, very clean and original looking. Exterior is nearly flawless with exception of the very small paint chips mentioned above. There is not a bubble or rust spot on this car or the undercarriage. Car has a stainless steel dual exhaust system on it. Four speed muncie with 3:55 gears, gets up and goes pretty well. Engine is a 283cu in with twin carter AFB's (sequentially numbered). The set up on the car is believed to be off a 1955-57 Corvette and is extremely rare, especially sequentially numbered. The motor could be original to the car however I am not able to see the numbers to match the engine to the car however you are welcome to look. The no post Bel Air Sport Coupe is one of the rarest and most desirable of the tri-fives. The chrome on the car is near perfect as is all of the glass. Undercarriage is extremely clean and there is really nothing this car needs. You could not build this car for what I am asking, it is truly a turn key driver that will only continue to appreciate. Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R named Road & Track Performance Car of the Year
Mon, Nov 9 2015With a 526-horsepower, 5.2-liter V8 that roars to 8,250 rpm, it's really hard to consider the 2016 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350R an underdog in any fight. However, the Shelby held the lowest as-tested price and was only middle of the pack in terms of power in Road & Track's 2016 Performance Car of the Year challenge. The 'Stang's numbers clearly didn't tell the whole story about the potent coupe because Ford's muscle car grabbed the title in this year's test. A model needs to be new or significantly updated to be eligible for the honor, and R&T found an impressive slate of eight candidates this year. The challengers included the Bentley Continental GT3-R, Cadillac ATS-V Coupe, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Dodge Viper ACR, Mercedes-AMG GT S, and Porsche Cayman GT4. The Ferrari 488 GTB was the most expensive of the bunch with an as-tested price of $347,942, which is five times more than the Shelby. Once the group was together, R&T hustled them over curving roads and on the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park. There was a lot to love about the Shelby, even in this impressive crew. "With a flat-plane crank and Sport Cup 2 tires, the GT350R is a Mustang turned up to 11," editor-in-chief Larry Webster said in the announcement of the results. The GT350R joins some great company. Past winners include the Porsche 911 GT3 last year and the Corvette in 2013. Chevy Corvette Stingray picks up another award, this time from Automobile
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year.
Automobile's award to the Corvette over competitors is the mirror image of its rival Motor Trend, which named the Cadillac CTS its car of the year over the C7. The CTS was, according to the Automobile team, the closest contender to the mighty Stingray. Great news all around for General Motors it seems.
As for what pushed the Corvette past its distant, four-door cousin, Automobile commended its excellent, 6.2-liter V8 calling the car's performance "simply awesome" while also remarking that it is easier to drive fast than ever before thanks to steering and chassis tweaks. Following a theme set by other publications, there were also plaudits for the interior, of all things, with the buff book complimenting the car's ergonomics and material quality, while also praising the standard seats.
