1957 Chevy Bel Air Sport Coupe no post car.
I bought this from the second owner about four years ago and have probably put 1000 miles on it. I did add the Riddler Five spoke wheels but still have the original bias ply tires, steel wheels with hub caps that come with the car. Car has brand new tires as well.
The car has 45k miles on originally as I am told by the second owner that did the restoration on it many years ago. Older lacquer paint that still shines well but has a couple of small spots (dime/quarter size) that the paint chipped on, has some checking on the roof.
Interior is perfect, no rips, no tears, no stains, very clean and original looking.
Exterior is nearly flawless with exception of the very small paint chips mentioned above.  There is not a bubble or rust spot on this car or the undercarriage.
Car has a stainless steel dual exhaust system on it.
Four speed muncie with 3:55 gears, gets up and goes pretty well.
Engine is a 283cu in with twin carter AFB's (sequentially numbered). The set up on the car is believed to be off a 1955-57 Corvette and is extremely rare, especially sequentially numbered. The motor could be original to the car however I am not able to see the numbers to match the engine to the car however you are welcome to look.
The no post Bel Air Sport Coupe is one of the rarest and most desirable of the tri-fives.
The chrome on the car is near perfect as is all of the glass. Undercarriage is extremely clean and there is really nothing this car needs.
You could not build this car for what I am asking, it is truly a turn key driver that will only continue to appreciate.
Available to be shown/driven/inspected if you are interested.

If you have questions on the car you are welcome to call me; Doug 508-958-7787.

The car is for sale  locally and I do reserve the right to end the auction early.

Corvette Stolen In Detroit Returned To Owner After 33 Years

Wed, Jun 25 2014

A Detroit man had his stolen Corvette returned 33 years after it disappeared while parked on one of Detroit's main drags, according to ABC 7. The last time George Talley saw his 1979 Corvette was on a July day in 1981, when it disappeared from its parking spot on Jefferson Avenue in Detroit. He had given up hope of ever seeing his car again, until a phone call from AAA brought his sporty ride home. Authorities had come across a Corvette with a questionable VIN in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. When they ran the number Talley's stolen car report came up. The car is still in pretty good shape and only has 47,000 miles on the odometer. Talley wasn't sure how he could get the car back home, but General Motors stepped in and agreed to cover the cost of bringing the 'Vette home. Talley has always had a passion for Detroit-made muscle cars. "I've always liked Corvettes. It was attractive. The ladies like 'em," Talley told ABC 7.

Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.

Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....
