This is truly one of the finest 57s around. I owned one two years ago that cost over 125k to build and made the cover of cruisin style mag. and was featured in the feb 2010 issue and this cars puts it to shame. Not that good with a compter, I dont know how to do all the color line items and all the fancy stuff people do with them so this will be plain and simple and Iam sure I will forget a lot of stuff that the car has on it. I will start by saying I reserve the right to end the auction early as I will be putting a sign on it this weekend and may sell it locally. According to the man who built it it was a factory PB,PS,power antenna, factory air and padded dash car.It was finished in 2008 and has 1800 miles on it since build. It had never been washed unit I bought it, its just that kind of car. The bottom of the car looks like the top. This car was like new before the ever started the build but thet wanted something special. This car was dipped in Jackson ms. but not your normal acid dip. The process on the car is called an It electro-alkaline dip. This this the straightest 57 I have ever seen and I have owned a lot of them(17) I dont know if Iam crazy or stupid but the number is true and I have seen hundreds more. All the stainless trim except for a couple pieces and bumpers are supposed to be orginal. Starting with the engine its a tune port injected 350 out of a 89 corvette (22mpg) with alum. heads and late model manifolds. It has a built 700 R-4 with a later model GM Dana positraction with low 3 some gears, I think its a 308. It has 4 wheel power disc brakes. Has a huge Griffin with dual fan cooling system, battery is mounted in the trunk. It has front and rear sway bars, all stock new suspension. The interior is done in a fawn colored glove leather. I has never felt leather this soft. All the inside window trim and upper arm rest is all done in leather. The car has an Ididit column, vitage air which run throught the console to the rear, padded dash, power antenna, power windows, raingear wiper system with squirters, column shifter, radio is a piece of junk but it plays (cassette). I,am having trouble loading pictures to if you need to see more email hookhorn@msn.com . Trunk is aslo done in leather. This is a car you can drive across country. it is not a hot rod but dones run strong for what it is. Thanks for looking , please dont ask for resverve but you can make an offer. You may come and inspect and drive the car or send an appraisier at any time with a days notice.

Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady gives Chevy Colorado to Malcolm Butler [w/poll]
Tue, Feb 3 2015Winning the Super Bowl, we'd imagine, is pretty sweet. Winning the MVP award at the Super Bowl, even more so – for many reasons, among them that you get a brand new Chevy Colorado, packed full of, you know... technology and stuff. Of course this year's Most Valuable Player was none other than Tom Brady, the New England Patriots quaterback who was crowned Super Bowl MVP for the third time and lead the Pats to win the Super Bowl for the fourth time. He makes tens of millions every season, and Mrs. Brady (a.k.a. Gisele Bundchen) probably makes an extraordinarily pretty penny herself. So what does one of the most successful and wealthy players in NFL history need with a new pickup truck? Not a whole lot, apparently: the Boston Business Journal reports that he gave the truck to Malcolm Butler, the rookie cornerback who intercepted Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson's pass on the Patriots' one-yard line with only twenty seconds to go and sealed the victory for New England. Which strikes us as a fitting gesture, even if Brady did keep the MVP trophy for himself. GM won't really kill off the Chevy Volt and Cadillac CT6, will it?
Fri, Jul 21 2017General Motors is apparently considering killing off six slow-selling models by 2020, according to Reuters. But is that really likely? The news is mentioned in a story where UAW president Dennis Williams notes that slumping US car sales could threaten jobs at low-volume factories. Still, we're skeptical that GM is really serious about killing those cars. Reuters specifically calls out the Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Impala, Chevrolet Sonic, and the Chevrolet Volt. Most of these have been redesigned or refreshed within the past few model years. Four - the LaCrosse, Impala, CT6, and Volt - are built in the Hamtramck factory in Detroit. That plant has made only 35,000 cars this year - down 32 percent from 2016. A typical GM plant builds 200,000-300,000 vehicles a year. Of all the cars Williams listed, killing the XTS, Impala, and Sonic make the most sense. They're older and don't sell particularly well. On the other hand, axing the other three seems like an odd move. It would leave Buick and Cadillac without flagship sedans, at least until the rumored Cadillac CT8 arrives. The CT6 was a big investment for GM and backing out after just a few years would be a huge loss. It also uses GM's latest and best materials and technology, making us even more skeptical. The Volt is a hugely important car for Chevrolet, and supplementing it with a crossover makes more sense than replacing it with one. Offering one model with a range of powertrain variants like the Hyundai Ioniq and Toyota Prius might be another route GM could take. All six of these vehicles are sedans, Yes, crossover sales are booming, but there's still a huge market for cars. Backing away from these would be essentially giving up sales to competitors from around the globe. The UAW might simply be publicly pushing GM to move crossover production to Hamtramck to avoid closing the plant and laying off workers. Sales of passenger cars are down across both GM and the industry. Consolidating production in other plants and closing Hamtramck rather than having a single facility focus on sedans might make more sense from a business perspective. GM is also trying to reduce its unsold inventory, meaning current production may be slowed or halted while current cars move into customer hands. There's a lot of politics that goes into building a car. GM wants to do what makes the most sense from a business perspective, while the UAW doesn't workers to lose their jobs when a factory closes.
