1957 Chevy Belair Wagon

Heres a chance to buy a nice original Tri 5 Wagon thats been off the road
here in AZ for many many years, just aching to be someones next project !
Sure its not a Nomad, but thats great because its more affordable AND
easier to get the family In and Out of the car on cruze nights with 2 extra doors !
1957 is still the best looking yr wagon GM built , until 59 :)
THIS ONE  with NO RESERVE

OBVIOUSLY THIS CAR NEEDS A FULL RESTORATION FRONT TO REAR
BUT I WILL TRY TO DETAIL OUT SOME INFO THAT CANT BE SEEN IN
THE PICS BELOW.

This car was owned by Copper Electric out of Bisbee AZ for as long as we
can track it prior to us acquiring it a few weeks ago. Seeing the cars past
has been in AZ probably its whole life, it is a low rust vehicle compared to
most its age, but no one ever removed the plastic floormats over the yrs
so the lower parts of the floorboards did get rust from the inside out mostly.
It has some rust in a few other areas, but its still far much cleaner then most
out there. The OTHER thing is the car appears to still be wearing whats left
of its original paint on all the original sheetmetal. Looking all over the car I
didnt see any signs of previous repairs or overspray or repaint.
For alot of restorers and builders who know what they want, thats a big
thing for them.
LUCKILY Im pretty sure just about every part needed for this car is now available
making restoration easier by just having to pick up the phone and order what
you need.
IF you look closely though, you will see there are alot of loose parts that are
not shown ON the car but look to be INSIDE in various areas.
SORRY for not prepping this car and at least trying to clean it out as much as
possible prior to listing it, but under the circumstances this week I didnt have
the time or facility to do so this week. Im going to try to clean it out by the
weekend and itemize whats there and toss all the trash out if I can and update
the pics by Monday nite. (so keep checking back for updates..)
As for glass on this car, I think the only 2 PIECES NOT broke are 1 of the vent wing
windows and the very back. Side Doors all open and close fine and dash looks
to be uncut around the radio.

OUR 100% feedback speaks for itself
and many of our feedback are from about 15 cars we sold just this past
year here on EBay. We put more time and effort into our ads making it much
easier for the potential buyers to bid with confidence.
NOT MANY OF THESE CARS WHERE MADE BACK IN THE DAY and we all know
NOT MANY ARE EVEN LEFT ON THE ROAD ANYMORE.

DRIVETRAIN: no motor or trans BUT at least this car was originally
A V8 car with what I think may of been a 3 on the Tree. Build it
anyway you want, and if you do it right youll never lose a dime on
it when it comes to reselling it.  REAREND looks to be original.
Car rolls and steers making shipping a little easier. 3 tires hold air
for a bit, 1 tire is beat. I can try to get it so all 4 tires hold air
long enough for shipping still on the stock rims.

INTERIOR: obviously needs a total restoration, but looks complete
and all the main stuff there. Seats, dash, glove box etc.
Some misc small stuff like handles are missing. Spare tire well
is very dry and rust free too.

EXTERIOR: body for the most part, really straight, but there
is a dent by the LR 1/4, mild rust on the rockers. Hood is not
currently bolted down. Some side trim is missing, but there
are some loose pieces in the car. Front bumper and grill are
missing.

SUSPENSION: basically all stock and original and probably
very worn out and ready for a nice Resto Mod restoration.
Rear shocks almost look to be original haha.

This car is not your typical 90% rust free Arizona car but it is
a car that needs some rust repair and still better then one sitting
near the coast or in the rust belt.

These cars rarely even come up for sale in this condition, which is
affordable to almost anyone wanting a project wagon.
Check out ALL the pics below ----->

it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a
slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra scroll
bar on the right side.
Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate.
more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics.

Recharge Wrap-Up: LAPD gets Zero MMX, Chevy's new inverter, Hyundai Tucson's new powertrains

Wed, Jul 16 2014

Some police in Los Angeles will be riding Zero MMX electric motorcycles on duty. The LAPD is adding the fully electric police/military all-terrain bikes to its patrol fleet. According to Officer Steve Carbajal of the department's off-road unit, "It costs less than 50 cents to charge compared to using gallons of gas, maintenance is simple, and the community appreciates how quiet they are." The electric bikes, with their lack of noise and a headlight the rider can turn off, also have the benefit of stealth, giving the officers what Carbajal calls "an added tactical advantage." The MMX also has swappable batteries, is designed for quick ignition and has power reserve capabilities so the rider won't be caught with a dead battery while chasing down a perp. Read more at Ride Apart. Remember when it seemed like we'd never run out of oil, and giving your buddy five bucks for gas was actually a worthwhile gesture? Drivers of classic cars in Detroit were able to fill up their tanks at gas prices corresponding to their model year, thanks to a promotion by Hagerty Insurance for National Collector Car Appreciation Day on July 11. That meant prices from 21 to 90 cents a gallon, as the cars that showed up ranged from the years 1929 to 1989. That's about as affordable as charging your EV. Head over to Autoweek for more details and some photos from the event. The next-generation Chevrolet Volt will likely benefit from a new inverter being developed by General Motors. GM is about two-thirds of the way through the development of the new inverter, which should be ready in January 2016. The inverter, which has a peak output of 55 kilowatts a continuous output of 33 kilowatts, will be adaptable for use in other GM vehicles. Chevrolet is working to reduce the Volt's production costs by $10,000 per vehicle, which should make it more affordable, and the new inverter could help reach that goal should it make its way into the car. Read more at Green Car Reports. Hyundai is likely planning some interesting powertrain changes for the 2016 Tucson, says Green Car Reports. Plug-in hybrid? Maybe. Diesel? Probably not. "We are covering the waterfront on all alternative fuel strategies, from standard hybrid, to plug-in, battery-electric, and fuel cell," says Hyundai's US Chief Dave Zuchowski.

Is this GM's next electric crossover?

Thu, Nov 16 2017

GM made headlines this week when CEO Mary Barra presented the company's electrification and automation plans at the Barclays Global Automotive Conference in New York. "We are committed to a future electric vehicle portfolio that will be profitable," Barra said, which could be taken as a jab at Tesla. In the presentation ( PDF here), though, we see a new vehicle in a slide titled "Leveraging existing BEV platform to expand in near term." The vehicle, seen above, accompanied the captions "New CUV entries" and "two entries by 2020." Is this a sneak preview of an upcoming electric crossover from GM? The image seems too realistic and intentional to be a random placeholder. If this is, indeed, an upcoming battery-electric CUV based on the Bolt, the question remains: Will it be a Chevy or a Buick? It has no visible badging, but it shares DNA from both brands. As Inside EVs points out, though, it does bear a resemblance to the Chevrolet FNR-X concept unveiled in Shanghai earlier this year. With two CUVs on the way, it's not unthinkable that there could be a version for each brand. In addition to this slide, the presentation includes plans for an "All new multi-brand, multi-segment platform" launching in 2021. The all-new modular battery system will cost less than $100 per kWh, providing higher energy density and faster charging. The platform will host at least nine different vehicles, including a compact crossover, seven-seat luxury SUV and a large commercial van. GM has said it will launch 20 new EVs by 2023, and that it targets 1 million EV sales per year by 2026. Many of those sales will be in China. Related Video:

Pics Aplenty: Meet the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra [w/poll]

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

Today was a pretty big day for General Motors, debuting the all-new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickup trucks ahead of their official showcase at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. And now that the dust has settled at GM's big reveal event, we've had a chance to snap dozens of photos of the new pickup pair from every angle.
We already told you the important bits earlier today (click here in case you missed it), but let's recap. Under the hood are three new engines - a 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 (you know, a version of the small-block that'll also be found under the hood of the C7 Corvette), all mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. The 2014 model year marks the return of the Z71 off-road package with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and beefier underbody protection. Inside, there's a host of new technology and a greater focus on better quality and refinement.
Some of the nitty-gritty specifics (like engine output numbers and fuel economy) have yet to be revealed, and since we haven't driven the finished products yet, it's hard to say how these trucks will fare against rivals like the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150. For now, we can only judge these two books by their covers, and while we do like the designs of the new trucks, we Autoblog staffers are torn on exactly which one looks best.
