1956 Chevy Bel Air 210 2DR Sedan

Body & paint was done 20 years ago, by previous owner.  Car has had new lower quarters & rocker panels.  Also, rear panel between trunk & rear bumper.  Car has some patches in floor boards.  Paint has some chips & scratches in some places.  Some of the chrome has pitting, like the hood bar & bird mostly & some on the front bumper.  Rear bumper is powder coated. It has a 350 engine, we were told has approximately 60,000 miles.  Has automatic transmission, Edelbrock torker 2 intake, Edelbrock 600 cfm carb, aluminum radiator, B&M floor shifter, Jaz fuel cell, Flowmaster mufflers, & finned aluminum valve covers.  The heater, fuel gauge, horn, wipers, radio, & dome light don't work. It has Weld racing wheels & good tires.  Interior was also redone about 20 years ago.  All of it is in pretty good shape, except front & rear seat both have about a 1/4" tear in them.  Windows have scratches.  We drove car about 2 miles & it seemed to drive ok.  If you win the auction the car should be towed.  As we have not driven the car enough to make sure it is road worthy.  Car is very presentable & looks good from about 15 feet away.  Car just needs a little TLC.  It would make a good driver. Has clear Ohio title.

Ask questions, we will answer the best we can.  You can either leave me an email or call me at 630-896-2278.  Ask for Bill.  We reserve the right to end the auction at any time.  Car is sold as is with no warranties, no returns.  All sales FINAL!  No shipping.  You arrange pick up within 2 weeks of auction end.

$2,000.00 to be paid through Paypal at end of auction.  Remainder to be paid in cash upon pick up of car.  No checks or money orders.

Looking back at the Citation IV concept that likely shaped the GM EV1

Wed, Aug 20 2014

Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. We're not sure how that applies to the GM EV1, but we'd still like to share something from Autoline Daily, an online automotive new show with our friend John McElroy. He's been covering the business for decades now and recently found something interesting: pictures of the 1984 Chevrolet Citation IV concept, seen above. Displayed half a decade before the first electric concept that would become the EV1 (inset), McElroy says it's now clear that the elegant, aerodynamic EV1 took a lot of styling cues from the Citation IV, which was developed in part thanks to GM's new-at-the-time Aerodynamics Laboratory. We agree with him that the spats over the rear wheels, the flush glass, and the covered headlights all bear a certain kind of similarity between the two cars. That the colors almost match is a nice coincidence. The Impact (the concept version of the EV1) looked "frumpier," McElroy says, because it wasn't as long as the Citation. You can read a lot more about the Citation IV here and check out McElroy's thoughts in the video below. Find the Citation starting at around 3:45. This content is hosted by a third party. Sunday Drive: Trucks and SUVs of all shapes and sizes

Sun, Nov 5 2017

The American automotive marketplace is dominated by trucks and SUVs, and so was the last week of coverage on Autoblog. By far, the most popular story of the week was our First Drive of the 2018 Lincoln Navigator. It may look like an old-school lumberer, but in reality Lincoln's flagship is a thoroughly modern, turbocharged-V6-powered, three-row, luxury people mover. The Jeep Wrangler is the world's most recognizable vehicle. So it's no surprise that the next version looks a whole heck of a lot like the last one, and the one before. It's all in the details, which is why we were so excited when Jeep decided to unleash a trio of images showing both two- and four-door Wranglers for us to dissect ahead of the SUV's official debut at the L.A. Auto Show later this year. Past that, spy photos of the next Chevy Silverado and Ram 1500 were predictably popular. See both of those below, and the cap it all off, check out the entire week's worth of SEMA coverage – including the bonkers Hennessey VelociRaptor 6x6 – in our mega image gallery at the bottom of this post. Enjoy! As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2018 Lincoln Navigator First Drive | From black sheep to flagship 2018 Jeep Wrangler revealed: First photos released before L.A. GM says hybrid Corvette no laughing matter [w/poll]

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

When Mark Reuss was in LA recently, he sat down to have a few words with the scribes at the Los Angeles Times. When the issue of a hybrid Corvette came up, Reuss answered with "Don't laugh." The General Motors president is a complete fan of the possibility, calling it "attractive" and "really fun," believing it would improve GM expertise and that "people would love it."
Naturally, the president being supportive of an idea doesn't give indication that a hybrid Corvette is on the way. However, with supercars like the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari giving hybrid tech a solid, if remote, place in the performance car world, the inexorable trickle-down of technology means we shouldn't be surprised if and when it does happen.
And now that we have that non-negative half-answer to a speculative question, it would be irresponsible for us not to commence rumormilling for the C8 Corvette. Taking Reuss at his word, the C8 will obviously be a hybrid with all-wheel-drive - the left side wheels driven with electric motors, the right side with the mid-mounted, four-cylinder diesel engine. With coefficient of drag of just .16, figure on a 0-to-60 mile-per-hour time of under 2 seconds and an all-electric range of something like 30 miles at top speed. Don't forget, folks, you read it here first.
