1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop 350ci 4 Speed 12 Bolt on 2040-cars
Belmont, California, United States
Here is a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air, 2 door, non-pillar, hardtop, with a 350 ci, 4 speed manual, 12 bolt, and chrome rally style wheels. It has a dime size chip on the passenger rear quarter. This car runs and drives out great, nice crunchy cam, and dual exhaust which sounds great. It has manual steering and drum brakes and you really can’t tell, as the brakes feel as good as discs. It’s a very cool muscle car and anyone would be proud to own and drive this Cherry '56. This car was recently restored using 2 different cars and this is why it has a reconstructed title and an assigned vin. # in Oregon. In Oregon, reconstructed title's are issued if the car is assembled from another donor car. It was not in a accident...the guy just used the best of a few cars to make this one.. He spent $9500 on the paint & body alone. Now with that explained back to the car. It drives out perfect and straight down the road at 70 mph, doesn’t pull, transmission shifts smoothly, and the 350 motor has plenty of power. The car is as far as I can find is rust free with no bubbles and the floors are great. There is a bit of minor surface rust in the trunk, but no other surface rust that I can find anywhere on the rest of the car. The body lines are great and all panels are extremely straight. All the chrome is mint with no dings or anything missing. It is simply a great car all the way around. I encourage all inspection before the end of sale not after. This is a super cool '56 chevy sports coupe that would fit into anyone's automobile collection! The car is in Belmont, California which is close to San Francisco. I can also organize for an overseas buyer car inspection and transport to shipping dock at your cost. |

Fri, May 3 2019In this week's Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Road Test Editor Reese Counts and Associate Editor Joel Stocksdale. First, they talk about the newly refreshed Chevy Camaro SS. Then they dish on the cars they've been driving, including the Lexus UX, Lexus GS F and Volvo V90, as well as riding in the new Mercedes-Benz GLS. After that, they ask the question, how many AMG cars is too many? Finally they turn to car buying, and suggest potential vehicles for a shopper on Reddit for the "Spend My Money" segment. OnStar to offer 90-day driving assessment, possible insurance discount
Wed, Jan 7 2015General Motors has announced a brace of new features for OnStar, two of which could help you save money assuming you're willing to sign over some (more) personal details. The first is a driving assessment program in which OnStar takes note of certain driving parameters for 90 days, then provides the driver feedback on their driving, both individually and when compared to other drivers in the program, as well as driving tips. Think of it as OnStar's ICE version of the Nissan Leaf's CARWING feature that compares how efficient your electric driving is compared to other BEV drivers. In this case, though, certain drivers will have the chance to share their assessment with Progressive Insurance, and if the numbers are right they might get a "driving-based" discount from the insurance company. The assessment program is voluntary, and requires opting in. It will be available this summer on all new GM cars and some GM vehicles back to 2013. In case this sounds like Big Brother, let's not forget that Big Brother is already here and moved in so long ago that he's a member of the Kiwanis club and is hosting neighborhood block parties. Progressive already has a million enrollees in a program called Snapshot that tracks OBD II data to offer usage-based insurance to provide annual pricing based on how much you drive your car, with discounts of up to 30 percent. The OnStar effort is just another way to do that. The second feature is proximity offers through AtYourService, which notifies drivers to deals and information on their driving route and provides coupons from RetailMeNot and Entertainment Book. Beyond that, a deal with Priceline will let OnStar agents book hotels for you starting this year, there's a tie-in with Dunkin' Donuts, too, but we're fuzzy on those benefits, and third new feature lets Chevrolet owners know when certain parts need replacing. 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray priced from $51,995*
Fri, 26 Apr 2013After months of speculation, Chevrolet has finally revealed the official starting price of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The base MSRP for the 450-horsepower Stingray Coupe will be $51,995, while the Stingray Convertible will go for $56,995 (*both prices include a $995 destination fee). This means that the price increase from 2013 to 2014 is just $1,400 for the coupe and $2,395 for the convertible - pretty modest increases considering the upgrade in specifications. Of course, neither price accounts for the sort of dealer markup that might grace early C7 window stickers, especially since less than a third of all Chevrolet dealers will be allocated Corvette models to sell at the car's launch.
Now, these prices are for the base car, so if you're wondering how much a fully loaded Stingray will run, Chevy has given us a good indication of that as well. The coupe we saw on display at the Detroit Auto Show (shown above), for example, would run $73,360 including options such as the $2,800 Z51 Performance Package, $2,495 competition sport seats and the $1,795 Magnetic Ride Control option - just to name a few. Stepping up to the 3LT trim level that brings a full leather interior will run an extra $8,005 over the base price.
While $20,000 in options may seem like a lot, this "as-tested" price still has the C7 competitively priced against rival coupes like the Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R. Speaking of price comparisons, Chevrolet also points out that the C7 Stingray Z51 costs $2,200 less than the C6 Grand Sport while delivering better acceleration (0-60 mph in less than four seconds) and improved track performance (including more than 1 g in cornering).
