1956 Chevrolet Bel Air, Driver Project Ratrod Streetrod Custom Chevy 150 210 on 2040-cars
Feeding Hills, Massachusetts, United States
SELLING MY 56 CHEVY BEL AIR 4 DOOR SEDAN. DECENT LITTLE PROJECT THAT RAN AND DROVE INTO MY GARAGE 3 YEARS AGO WITH ITS FACTORY 6 CYL AND POWERGLIDE. THE BRAKES ARE UP AND WORKING, BUT SHOULD HAVE A QUICK RE-DO BEFORE SEEING ROAD USE.
CLEAR MARYLAND TITLE. SIGNED BUT NOT DATED BY THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM. WILL MAKE CHEAP CRUISE NIGHT CAR. NOT A CAR TO RESTORE, IN MY OPINION. IT WILL RUN WITH SOME FRESH GAS AND A BATTERY. NEEDS SHEETMETAL WORK WHERE NOBODY WILL SEE, FRONT FLOORS, ROCKERS, REAR DOGLEGS, AND TRUNK. BODY MOUNTS STILL LOOK GOOD. OUTER BODY PANELS ARE STRAIGHT ENOUGH FOR YOUR LOCAL CAR SHOW. BUT THE PASSENGER FRONT FENDER HAS QUITE A BIT OF BODY FILLER. ALL STAINLESS BEL-AIR MOULDINGS ARE PRESENT EXCEPT FOR 1 FENDER MOULDING. VIRTUALLY ALL THE OUTER CHROME GOES WITH IT ALSO, INCLUDING BUMPERS. INTERIOR CONSISTS OF A BLACK VINYL REAR SEAT AND FIBERGLASS RACE BUCKETS WITH BLACK VINYL COVERS IN THE FRONT. I HAVE OLD DOOR PANELS FOR TEMPLATES AND ALL THE STAINLESS MOULDING FOR THEM. NO CARPET OR HEADLINER, BUT I DO HAVE THE BOWS. DASH IS DECENT BUT SOMEONE PUT 1 NEWER GUAGE IN IT. IT HAS A COUPLE CRACKED SIDE WINDOWS. THE FRONT FRAME HORNS NEED A PULL FROM AN ACCIDENT IF YOU WANT TO RUN THE STOCK FRONT BUMPER. I WASN'T CONCERNED ABOUT IT AS I WAS GONNA CLIP IT AND PUT A STRAIGHT AXLE UNDER IT. I HAVE ONE FOR SALE AT EXTRA COST IF YOU ARE INTERESTED. ALSO INCLUDED IS A HUGE ROLL OF RED WINDOW TINT. NO WARRANTEE OR GUARANTEES (DUH) ON THIS 50+ YEAR OLD CAR. IT IS SOLD "AS-IS-WHERE-IS" NEEDING TOTAL RESTORATION TO BE TOTALLY FUNCTIONAL. IT IS AN AFFORDABLE, MOSTLY COMPLETE PROJECT CAR THAT CAN BE READY TO CRUISE, WITH SOME ELBOW GREASE AND JUNKYARD/SWAPMEET PARTS. $500 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT BY PAYPAL WITHIN 24 HOURS. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. YOU ARE NOT BIDDING TO COME LOOK AT IT. DO THAT BEFORE YOU MAKE AN OFFER. BALANCE OF PAYMENT WITHIN 7 DAYS, IN CASH AT PICK UP. BANK CHECKS MUST CLEAR FUNDS BEFORE CAR WILL BE RELEASED AND TITLE HANDED OVER, PERIOD. NO EXEPTIONS! I AM NOT A BANK! CHECKS MUST CLEAR FIRST! CAR CAN BE STORED INSIDE FOR A MONTH UNTIL PICKUP, AFTER PAYMENT IS COMPLETED ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE MAKING OFFER AND ASK YOUR WIFE OR GIRLFRIEND FOR PERMISSION. AND REMEMBER THAT DELIVERY IS NOT INCLUDED. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO SET UP TRANSPORT AND IT DOES COST MONEY. DON'T BE LIKE THE DONKEY WHO BACKED OUT OF BUYING MY 72 LINCOLN CUZ HE THOUGHT DELIVERY FROM MASSACHUSETTS TO COLORADO WOULDN'T BE MORE THAN A COUPLE HUNDRED BUCKS. I HAVE SOLD VEHICLES ON EBAY BEFORE. AND I AM A 100% SELLER FOR A REASON. |

Man surprises girlfriend with C7 Corvette
Mon, 07 Oct 2013How would you react if someone just showed up at your place of work with a new, 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, complete with all the trimmings? While a lot of us would likely be flipping out over the still rare sports car, it's a fair bet many more of us would be responding like Pattie here, whose boyfriend stopped by her work to show her her new C7.
Speechless and shocked as she seems, she does end up taking it out for a drive, despite claiming she wasn't really outfitted to handle the car's seven-speed manual transmission at the time. From the sound of the video, we got the impression that she knew the car was coming, just not that it was anywhere near ready for delivery. It also, as Pattie says, seems like her boyfriend is more excited about the car than she (which, can we blame him?). Take a look down below for the full video of this C7 Stingray delivery.
Anti-purist 1963 Ferrari GTE sports hot rod Chevy V8
Thu, Oct 8 2015I remember reading a story around the time Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift came out. It focused on one of the star cars of that film, a 1967 Ford Mustang fastback that started the film as a shell, and in a pinch, was transformed into a modified masterpiece, complete with the RB26DETT engine from a Nissan Skyline GT-R (which started the film under the hood of an S15 Silvia). There was a genuine (and in our minds, absurd) fear in the article that taking a piece of classic American iron and fitting a twin-turbocharged JDM engine would result in some awful trend in the classic car community. If you thought a GT-R-powered classic Mustang was sacrilege, though, this car will probably make you vomit. For the rest of us, it's a neat piece of engineering. Shown above is a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTE, and yes, that's a 302-cubic-inch, small-block Chevrolet V8 under the hood. On top of that, it uses the six-speed manual transmission from a Viper, a nine-inch Ford rear end, and Mitsubishi-sourced paint. So yeah, it's a FrankenFerrari. Check out Road Heads' interview with this custom GTE's owner, which is followed by a brief test drive. And of course, head into Comments afterwards, and let us know what you think. Is this Yankee-powered 250 GTE blasphemous or badass?
General Motors shaking up its marketing... again
Wed, 13 Mar 2013One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")
