1956 Chevrolet 150

327 Chevrolet with 4-Speed Muncie Transmission

Ready to Cruise

Being offered is a nice 1956 Chevrolet that is ready to jump into and cruise. This is a car that has lines that are timeless and is appreciated by everyone who looks at it.  Take yourself back to a time when life was simpler and cars had style to spare.  The car is driver quality, although this car is not likely to win a car show it is very presentable  and is mechanically complete and ready to cruise. This is a turn key car and one of the most desirable Chevrolet’s ever produced.  This is one of those opportunities to own a vehicle and not lose any money.  Take a look at our feedback and buy with no worries.  As always we encourage pre-bid inspections and phone calls if you have any questions.

Interior Highlights

The interior of this vehicle is in great shape as can be seen in the pictures.  The black vinyl interior is set off by the awesome dash and the oodles of chrome that we don't see in the cars of today.  The dash is in great shape with bright hardware and a full compliment of original gauges.  The interior of the car is full of timeless accessories and hardware that are all in great shape and really add to the classic feel of this vehicle.  The vehicle is equipped with a radio.  The pictures tell the rest of the story, the interior is only one highlight of this vehicle.

Exterior Highlights

The exterior of the car is finished in very sharp burgundy paint, body was stripped to the metal prior to painting and a base coat clear coat finish was applied. We would consider the paint somewhere between driver quality and show quality.  The paint is set off by the body lines of one of the most desirable chevrolets ever built as well as the numerous painted or chrome details that really set the car off.  The body of the car is very straight and the fit on the car is very good. the doors open and close without issues. The exterior has the awesome body lines that are from a time when cars had style and flare.  The vehicle is equipped with one piece california style painted bumpers that are in great shape. The vehicle is equipped with rally wheels with good tires.  All exterior hardware is in tact and for the most part in very nice shape, there is some pitting on the door handles, light bezels, and front grill. The vehicle has new hood and trunk emblems.  The stainless on the car is in very good shape.  The glass on the car is in great shape, the rear window has some scratches in it but is not cracked.  The car, as the pictures indicate, is stunning to look and is a real head turner.

Mechanical Highlights

This vehicle is equipped with a 327 small block chevrolet engine with an M20 4-speed muncie transmission.  The vehicle starts, runs, drives, and stops as it should.  The car has a nice vintage hot rod sound and is a very good driver. The vehicle has new 2 1/2” exhaust with flow master style exhaust, the car sounds great.  This is a car you can buy and get immediate satisfaction out of as it is ready to go, this is an ideal cruise in car and would be fine to take to shows but not likely a show winner but something you could be very proud of.

The odometer reads 62,389 miles, the title reads exceeds mechanical limits.

Seventies super-salesman challenges new car-sales record

Wed, Feb 21 2018

Some of the fondest memories from my youth were the Sunday afternoons spent walking between rows of new and used cars. This preceded the advent of widely available internet, so the cars didn't sell themselves online: A tentative buyer had to come see the cars in the metal, with old-school salesmen taking well-earned smoke breaks after putting someone behind the wheel of a new Saab 900. All-inclusive subscription services were unheard of. If you open a Guinness records book and look up car salesmen, you'll find Joe Girard. The definitely old-school Detroit salesman regularly sold over 1,000 new cars per year, with a particular high point of 1,425 cars in 1973 guaranteeing him a mention in the Guinness book. To reach that kind of sales figure, you had to be a pretty special salesman, and Girard was. He didn't take breaks unless absolutely necessary, and even his lunch hours were dedicated to selling more cars instead of shooting the breeze with other sales persons. By 1977 he was worn through, having sold over 13,000 cars in his career, and his physique couldn't take it anymore. He's been a motivational speaker since. Now, 44 years later, a Dearborn, Mich., Cadillac and Chevrolet salesman named Ali Reda has reportedly broken Girard's record. The books at Les Stanford Chevrolet Cadillac say Reda sold 1,530 new cars and 52 used cars in 2017, averaging 130 vehicles per month. But after Girard, 89, heard of the sales record, he called his attorney, not letting his record be broken without a fight — or at least an audit. The Dearborn dealer isn't too concerned about Girard's doubts, at least according to Gary Stanford, whose father founded the dealership. "It's very official, trust me," said Stanford to the Detroit Free Press. "Ali is the hardest worker I've ever seen. And if someone doesn't believe the data, well, they're more than welcome to consult with GM. It's all there in black and white." What Girard doesn't get is that Reda was honoring him with the accomplishment. "I read his book, 'How to Sell Anything to Anybody,' and it said it would teach you how to become the best," said Reda, who at age 44 was a newborn when Girard hit his peak. "He's an absolute legend in the industry. Your whole career, you're chasing his name.

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.

2016 Chevy Volt auctioned off to help the robots

Tue, Nov 10 2015

One of the cool things about the 2016 Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in being auctioned off to raise money for kids' science and robotics program is that even the sedan's color sounds very scientific. Indeed, it's fitting that a "Kinetic Blue" Volt will be used to advance the scientific education of the country's students, according to Hybrid Cars. That is, if it fetches enough cash. Chevrolet parent General Motors was kind enough to donate a 2016 Volt to the so-called FIRST K-12 robotics program (FIRST stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). The program was founded in 1989. Last year, General Motors engineers worked with about 10,000 FIRST students in the US, but it looks like GM is now going the cold-hard-cash route to make its mark on future scientists. Bidding for the vehicle will take place until the morning of November 19, and, hopefully, it will generate enough interest to drive the bidding price up beyond its MSRP. As of Tuesday morning, nine bids had been taken, with the top one at $27,750. That's all fine and good except the car is pretty loaded with bells and whistles, and it's 53-mile electric-only range is a considerable jump from the first-generation Volt, so the car's "estimated value" is $40,245 (not factoring in the $7,500 federal tax incentive). That's a pretty good jump over the 2016 Volt's base price of $33,995, which marked a $175 price cut from the 2015 model. So pony up, folks. It's for the kids. Related Video:
