1955 Chevrolet Handyman Wagon, I bought the car a few years ago in about the same shape that you see it now, when I bought the car it had a blown 454 big block and a turbo 400 transmission, and I bought the car  for the intention of pulling the motor and trans for another project of mine, so that is why you see it here. The car was a old gasser or play toy for someone, the car has a 12 bolt posi, with a ladder bar set up on the rear, I want to say that it has 4;11 gears but I cant remember for sure. The car has wider then average wheels and tires, but it is not actually pro street, the car is un cut or tubbed. When the car was built, the back end was jacked up and setup to where the tires didn't hit anything or rub on the body or frame and was able to clear. The body is straight and has just one or two little bubbles on the passenger door coming up now, also their is a spot on the rear tail panel under the back door where something pushed it in, but I will say that on the underside one or two of the floor braces have rust and their is some rust in the floor pans. The firewall was cut for the valve cover and distributor to clear on the blower motor. Also on the firewall you can see a MSD box and Fuel Filter setup that went to the blower motor, all of which goes to the next owner. The car does have a hood, well a half a hood, instead of cutting the hood for the blower to stick out of, they cut the hood just behind the front braces to where most of the hood area is open. The hood does have the front trim and emblem for it, which are in pretty good shape. All the trim appears to be in great shape. The interior of the car is out of a late model car, buckets up front and a bench for the rear. The shifter in the car is a new B and M, their is a vintage tach on top of the dash and couple newer gauges that have been changed out for the old ones. Their is a couple extra pieces of trim in the rear of the car as well as the drive shaft. This is going to make someone a great winter project for either that gasser, or for a pro street car or street rod, the options are endless for this car and the direction you can go with it when building it. The car is for sale locally and is subject to be taken off if sold. The car is also sold as is with no warranty. A 25% deposit is due within 3 days of the auctions end and the balance within 7 more when the car is to be picked up or arrangements are made for the car to be shipped. If you have any questions about the car please ask and I will gladly answer them to the best of my ability. Thanks and God Bless Kody 251-454-5455

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:

The biggest gas-guzzlers of 2024: 'The Meanest List' is the opposite of greenest cars

Thu, Mar 14 2024

In some circles — especially some automotive circles — bigger is better. This explains the Hummer, for example. In its so-called “Meanest List” of a dozen models, the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) makes no apologies for berating “the worst-performing mass market automobiles” sold in 2024 in the U.S. The most diminutive car on the list is a Chevy Corvette Z06. At the top of this particular heap is the Mercedes-Benz AMG G63, a gas-powered SUV that the environmental agency says was “the worst-performing vehicle of the more than 1,200 models assessed by Greener Cars and has an annual fuel cost over $4,000.” Not to mention its MSRP of around $184,000. Rank Make & Model Powertrain Green Score MSRP Estimated Annual Fuel Cost* 1 Mercedes-Benz AMG G63 Gas 20 $184,000 $4,242 2 Ram 1500 TRX 4x4 Gas 22 $98,335 $3,819 3 Ford F150 Raptor R Gas 24 $79,975 $3,777 4 Cadillac Escalade V Gas 26 $152,295 $3,388 5 Dodge Durango SRT Gas 26 $74,995 $3,332 6 Jeep Wrangler 4dr 4X4 Gas 27 $35,895 $3,260 7 Jeep Grand Wagoneer 4x4 Gas 28 $91,945 $3,058 8 Mercedes-Benz G550 Gas 28 $143,000 $3,186 9 GMC Hummer EV SUV EV 29 $98,845 $1,746 10 GMC Sierra Gas 29 $37,700 $3,069 11 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Gas 30 $114,395 $3,169 12 Mercedes-Benz Maybach S680 Gas 30 $234,300 $3,031 *ACEEE analysis using EIA data of the annual cost of driving 15,000 miles In terms of numbers, the dirty dozen of the meanest includes seven SUVs and three trucks. Lonely at the middle of the list is the sole electric, the GMC Hummer EV, which weighs in at 9,000 pounds. The council notes that “though EVs have lower emissions than similarly sized gasoline models, the Hummer demonstrates that size and efficiency, not just fuel source, are important factors in a carÂ’s environmental impact.” ItÂ’s also worth reminding prospective buyers that the average fuel cost of a vehicle on the “Greenest List” eats up only a fifth of the fuel cost of a vehicle on the Meanest List, “showing that greener options can also be more affordable.” The ACEEE also put out a "Greener List" of efficient gasoline and hybrid cars that don't require plugging in.  By the Numbers Green Cadillac Chevrolet Dodge Ford GMC Hummer Jeep Maybach Mercedes-Benz RAM Emissions Fuel Efficiency Green Automakers Truck SUV Electric Hybrid
