Up for auction is my beautiful 1955 Chevy. This car was found in a barn after stored there for over 20 years. It had one repaint and the body was about 98% rust free. The car was then taken to a professional restoration shop were it was mini tubbed. The wheel wells were widened 2 3/4" to make them flush with the frame. All the metalwork on the wheel wells was butt welded (Not overlapped) Like most people do. The metalwork is perfect. At the same time the spare tire well was removed and the trunk floor was modified to make the gas tank centered in the trunk to make room for exsaust. Again the metal work was done to perfection. When you look in the trunk you cant tell anything was done. Looks completely stock. A brand new 9" Ford rear replaced the original it has 31 spline axles and a 3:70 posi center section. The rear is mounted with a leaf spring relocation kit that moves the springs up inside the frame. Also new 3" dropped Posie springs were used. The rear wheels are 15x10 American Racing Torq Thrusts with Hosier 29x12.5 radial tires. At the same time the entire front suspension was rebuilt with all new bushings and ball joints. A new dropped spindle / disc brake kit was added from TCI along with dropped coil springs. This car sits really low! I get compliments all the time on the stance of this car. The original 3 speed was replaced with a muncie M22 close ratio 4 speed that has been completly rebuilt. The car had a 283 engine in it that I just replaced this spring with a brand new 450+ HP 383 Stroker. The engine features a complete Edelbrock RPM topend kit including aluminum heads, RPM Airgap intake and Performer RPM cam. This engine has a ton of power and sounds awesome. Cam has a really nice lumpy sound! The carburator is a Holley 770 double pumper with electric choke. The distributor is a MSD pro billet. The car has a top of the line Grifith aluminum radiator with 1 1/4 tubes. Always runs cool. never higher than 180. The interior was completly redone about 8 years ago and still looks really nice. The body is in really good shape. It only needed one small floor section replaced on the passenger side front. It was butt welded in and you can't tell it was done. Everything underneth is original and rust free! All the floor pans and braces are perfect! This is a really good car. The white paint was redone about 8 years ago. At that time all the glass was pulled out and was replaced with all new smoked grey tint glass and and the rubber seals and window channels were replaced with new. Also while the glass was out all of the stainless trim on the whole car was professionally straightened and polished to a miror finish. The green paint on the car was just redone this year. It is the original Neptune green color. I get compliments on the color all the time. The paint job is very nice but not perfect. This is a very nice driver. Not a show car. I wanted a car that looks really good but I didn't want a car I had to be scared to drive and I didn't want $100,000 55' Chevy. This car is so much fun to drive and it looks really good. It's a car that you can keep inproving over time. My next project on the car was going to be cleaning up and painting the engine compartment. That would be the bigest thing left to do on the car. I was planning on doing that this winter. Im sure I forgot a lot. But you can email me questions or call me at  717-490-4851. There will be a $500.00 NON REFUNDABLE deposit due within 48 hours of auction end. Thanks

My first group of pictures didn't load right so they are not very big. I just uploaded another group of pictures that are better quality and can be blown up so you can see better details of the car. The new pictures are after the ones I posted originally. Thanks

Autoblog's guilty pleasure cars

Tue, Mar 10 2015

Guilty pleasures are part of life – don't even try to pretend like you don't have one (or two, or six). In the non-automotive space, this could come down to that secret playlist in your iPhone of songs you'll only listen to when you're alone; or think of that one TV show you really do love, but won't admit to your friends. I've got plenty, and so do you. Going back to cars, here's a particularly juicy one for me: several years ago, I had a mad crush on the very last iteration of the Cadillac DTS. Oh yes, the front-wheel-drive, Northstar V8-powered sofa-on-wheels that was the last remaining shred of the elderly-swooning days of Cadillac's past. Every time I had the chance to drive one, I was secretly giddy. Don't hate me, okay? These days, the DTS is gone, but I've still got a mess of other cars that hold a special place in my heart. And in the spirit of camaraderie, I've asked my other Autoblog editors to tell me some of their guilty pleasure cars, as well – Seyth Miersma, as you can see above, has a few choice emotions to share about the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Read on to find out what cars make us secretly happy. Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG This decadent convertible is the epitome of the guilty pleasure. It's big, powerful, fairly heavy and it's richly appointed inside and out. It's a chocolate eclair with the three-pointed star on the hood. Given my druthers, I'd take the SL65 AMG, which delivers 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. That output is borderline absurd for this laid-back convertible. I don't care. You don't need dessert. Sometimes you just crave it. The SL line is about the feel you get on the road. The roof is open. The air, sun and engine sounds all embrace you. It's the same dynamic you could have experienced in a Mercedes a century ago, yet the SL gives you the most modern of luxuries. An Airscarf feature that warms my neck and shoulders through a vent embedded in the seat? Yes, please. Sure, it's an old-guy car. Mr. Burns and Lord Grantham are probably too young and hip for an SL65. I don't care. This is my guilty pleasure. Release the hounds. – Greg Migliore Senior Editor Ford Flex I drove my first Flex in 2009 when my mother let me borrow hers for the summer while I was away at college. The incredibly spacious interior made moving twice that summer a breeze, and the 200-mile trips up north were quite comfortable.

Opel's own ad shows Ampera-e beating Opels in drag race

Thu, Sep 8 2016

The Opel Ampera-e isn't expected to set any world records on a quarter-mile drag strip. But when it comes to crossing a major boulevard, though, the European version of the Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicle will more than hold its own, potentially scaring inattentive pedestrians everywhere. According to a 35-second video posted by General Motors' Opel division, at least. Opel set up the Ampera-e against four other small-and-sporty vehicles, including racing versions of the Opel Adam and Opel Astra as well as stock versions of the Opel Insignia and Corsa (what, you expected a Corvette to be in there?). With the EV's off-the-line torque as a selling point, Opel showed the Ampera-e beating the other vehicles in a 30-meter (100-foot) drag race. Of course, the video also shows the EV getting passed by some of the others soon after, but the point was made. Opel doubled down by adding the tagline "Fun to Drive" at the end of the video. While Opel hasn't revealed the single-charge range of the Ampera-e, it should be roughly the same as the Chevrolet Bolt, which will be about 200 miles. In addition, the Ampera-e, like the Bolt in the US, will get 200 horsepower from its electric motor, and will be able to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than seven seconds. The Ampera-e will debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show later this month. General Motors said in February that Europe would get the Ampera-e by next year. Opel had previously used the Ampera name with the Euro version of the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in. Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, Toyota Tundra flunk IIHS headlight test

Tue, Oct 25 2016

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety put pickup truck headlights to the test and found that the majority of them were equipped with subpar units. The 2017 Honda Ridgeline was the only truck to earn a rating of "good." The large pickup truck test was comprised of the: 2016 to 2017 GMC Sierra, 2017 Nissan Titan, 2016 Ram 1500, 2016 to 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, 2016 to 2017 Ford F-150, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tundra. The Sierra's headlights earned a rating of "acceptable," the headlights found on the Titan and Ram 1500 were found to be "marginal," and the ones on the Silverado, F-150, and Tundra were rated as "poor." IIHS claims the F-150 was the most disappointing out of the large pickup trucks as both its halogen and optional LED headlights failed to provide adequate visibility during testing. The Ridgeline (which earned a "good rating"), is usually considered a midsize or small truck, though IIHS included it in the field of large pickups. The headlights on the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, 2016 GMC Canyon, 2016 Nissan Frontier, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tacoma, which made up the small pickup truck group, all earned a rating of "poor." The IIHS claimed the Colorado had the worst headlights of any truck that was tested, as the base vehicle's units were only able to illuminate up to 123 feet in front of the car. The Ridgeline's headlights, for reference, were able to illuminate up to 358 feet in front of the vehicle. To conduct its test, the IIHS utilizes a special tool to measure how far light is projected out of the headlights in different driving situations. The trucks' headlights were tested in a straight line and in corners, while vehicles with high-beam assist were given extra praise. The headlights on the pickup trucks also mimic the testing that was done on small SUVs and cars earlier this year. Next year, automakers will need to fit their vehicles with headlights that earn a rating of either good or acceptable to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick+. Related Video:
