I would like to start off by saying that I own a chassis and restoration shop in Ohio....you can see by my feedback that I am a real seller....although we did not build this car here I am going to try and describe it as detailed as I can to the potential buyer so that the car can be bought with a high level of confidence.  The car is owned free and clear with an Ohio title that is in our name.  If you are looking for a Beautiful 55 chevy from top to bottom than this is it.  Full frame off restoration with only 273 miles since completion....all of the original sheetmetal is still in place aside from new front floor pans and long body brace ends....it was completely disassembled and the entire underbody was painted in the same black basecoat/clearcoat as the top....all new poly body mounts (pictured), rebuilt front end with new poly a-arm bushings and upper and lower ball joints, Danchuk crossmember w/ power rack and pinion steering kit, 4 wheel power disc brakes with cross drilled and slotted rotors, 2" drop spindles, 2" lowered in the rear to match......12 bolt rearend with 3.07 gear, multi leaf springs, traction bars, new fuel tank, in tank electric fuel pump, new brake and fuel lines, 17" ION wheels with Run Flat Bridgestone Turanza 225/45R17 tires......The engine is a nicely detailed 283 small block chevy with edelbrock aluminum intake and carb w/ electric choke, HEI ignition, aluminum serpentine drive system, billet air cleaner, aluminum radiator w/ electric fan, A/C compressor installed but an actual AC unit is not currently in place but can be easily added to complete the system, T56 6 speed manual overdrive transmission with Hurst Shifter and a McLeoud Street twin clutch with Billet Flywheel rated to 1000hp...full dual exhaust that exits under the rear bumper........GORGEOUS custom interior designed after the original, super comfortable, beautiful dash and headliner, inside has been completely sound deadened, Classic Instruments gauges that are all functional, billet gauge panel, turn signals, LED high beams, IDIDIT tilt steering column, billet steering wheel...all new window fur channels and weatherstripping, new front windshield (the rest of the glass appears to be original), new front and rear glass seals, new door seals, rebuilt vent windows, 100% all new wiring...all of the stainless was removed, cleaned and polished........chrome front and rear bumper.....the car is painted two tone House of Kolor black and galaxy grey metallic basecoat/clearcoat....as you can tell in the pics this is an absolutely gorgeous 55 chevy with a killer stance that is basically a brand new car.....now I am very picky about the quality level of vehicles and the only thing I will say is that although the paint looks beautiful...to me it is not what I would consider lazer straight down the sides...everything lines up nice and the doors open and close like new...but being black I can see some waves in the body..by the rear tail lights there is a small area that has been recleared in the grey...the paint is definitely above driver quality but it is not concourse level......BUT most people would probrably say that I am too picky........but I would rather be overly critical than the other way around.  This vehicle would be fantastic for cruise nights or local car shows....something that you can jump in and cruise w/o much worry.......there has been A LOT of time and money invested in this car....it is complete, turnkey and ready to enjoy....Feel free to call me at

No, Cadillac is not killing its flagship CT6 sedan

Sat, Jul 22 2017

Mark Twain never actually said that reports of his death had been greatly exaggerated. But if the Cadillac CT6 could talk, those are the exact words it would use. Speaking to Jalopnik, Cadillac chief Johan de Nysschen confirmed, emphatically, "There is absolutely no plan, at all, to cancel the CT6." In fact, says de Nysschen, the CT6 will soon be the beneficiary of significant investment. "The [CT6] forms a very important part of our product strategy going forward for the brand. The car also has a very major contribution to make to the shaping of brand perceptions, and the transformational process that Cadillac is undergoing." For instance, expect the CT6 to spearhead General Motors' most advanced forays into self-driving automobile technology. Interestingly, though, the Cadillac ATS and CTS sedans probably won't live past their current generations as the automaker 're-balances its sedan portfolio.' Replacement models are "in development" right now, says de Nysschen, which will "much more clearly separate the market position, both in terms of target customer demographics, in terms of market segments and in terms of price points between these three sedan lineups." So, that's confirmation that the Cadillac CT6 is going to stick around for a while. But what of other models cited by Reuters to potentially be killed, like the Buick LaCrosse and Chevy Impala and Volt? Read our take on that here, but suffice it to say that we don't think they're in danger, either. Sinkhole Opens Up In National Corvette Museum, Swallows Eight Cars

Wed, Feb 12 2014

More cars are being moved inside the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky. to avoid falling down the same sinkhole that swallowed eight classic sports cars early this morning, Autoblog reported. Museum officials said the hole was discovered when motion sensors activated around 5:45 a.m. The rescue mission can be viewed on the museum's live feed cameras, which weren't working after the sinkhole emerged. A 1993 ZR-1 Spyder and a 2009 ZR1 "Blue Devil," both on loan from General Motors, were among the cars that fell into the sinkhole. The museum owned the other affected Corvettes, which included a 1963 Corvette, a 1984 PPG Pace Car and the 1 millionth Corvette ever produced. The state of the cars at the bottom of the hole isn't known, but trial lawyer and sinkhole expert Ted Corless said the cars may be a total loss for the museum and GM. "Most states, including Kentucky, exclude damage caused by sinkhole activity," he said. "There will be, in all likelihood, a claim made, but a lot of policies would specifically exclude these kinds of damages." Corless has 15 years experience dealing with sinkholes. He said that typically neither the building, nor the cars themselves are protected under their insurance policies. "I would have to say, more likely then not, they're going to have an uninsured loss measured in the hundreds of thousands of dollars." The museum is closed Wednesday while a structural engineer assesses the damage. Chevy to show redesigned Captiva in Geneva, will it come to US rental lots?

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

Unless you're renting a car or driving through Orlando, Florida (the rental car capital of the US), you'll probably never see a Chevrolet Captiva - the rebadged, fleet-only version of the old Saturn Vue - on our roads, but this crossover is popular in many other parts of the world. As such, Chevrolet announced that the Captiva will be getting an update for 2013, which will be unveiled next week at the Geneva Motor Show.
Coming off a pretty extensive refresh in 2011, the 2013 model year will bring even more changes to the Captiva like LED taillights, new 18-inch wheels and revised fascias with a new grille and fog lights up front and inset chrome exhaust outlets at the rear. New interior features include heated rear seats, dual-zone climate control as well as available options on some of the upper trim levels such as leather seating and keyless entry and start. We have yet to hear back from Chevrolet as to whether or not the updated Captiva will be making its way to a rental lot near you, as the model is only available in the US to fleet buyers.
Alongside the updated Captiva, Chevy is also showing off its new Trax in Europe, where the subcompact crossover will go on sale this spring. GM's press release for these two Geneva-bound models is posted below.
