NOW FOR THE BAD WHEN I BOUGHT THIS CAR THE MOTOR WAS OUT AND PREVIOUS OWNER HAD JUST HAD MOTOR REBUILT DUE TO METAL IN OIL THE MOTOR IS A 1972 MODEL 402 BIG BLOCK BORED .30 OVER WE INSTALLED THE MOTOR AND STARTED IT IT HAD EXTREME BLOW BY AFTER RESEARCHING WHAT HAD BEEN DONE TO MOTOR WE FOUND OUT THE BUILDER HAD PUT PISTONS FOR 396 .30 OVER (402 CI) SO THE PISTONS ARE .30 TO SMALL THE MOTOR ONLY RAN A TOTAL OF MAYBE 5 MINUTES IN THAT TIME IT WIPED THE NEW HYD. CAM OUT ...I HAVE A LIKE NEW SET OF CORRECT PISTONS AND A NICE CAM TO PUT REASSEMBLE THIS MOTOR WITH ALTHOUGH YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE CRANKSHAFT CHECKED TO SEE IF IT IS TURNABLE OR REPLACE IT DUE TO SCARING FROM METAL FROM CAM ....I HAVE A NEW EDELBROCK ENDRASHINE INTAKE NEW CARB ALL IGNITION SYSTEM, BILLET VALVE COVERS AND BILLET TIMING CHAIN COVER DEEP, MOROSO OIL PAN IT ASLO HAS A VERY EXPENSIVE SET OF ROLLER ROCKERS AND PUSHRODS THERE HAS BEEN OVER $70,000.00 INVESTED IN THIS CAR BETWEEN THE PREVIOUS OWNER AND MYSELF ITS ALL HERE JUST NEEDS TO BE PUT BACK TOGETHER AND I DONT HAVE THE TIME....I DONT HAVE TO SELL THE CAR BUT FEEL ITS BEST SO SOMEONE ELSE CAN ENJOY IT IM NOT GONNA GIVE IT AWAY NO LOWBALL OFFERS ... Veyron and C7 Corvette join cast of Transformers 4
Wed, 29 May 2013Like the Fast & Furious franchise, the Michael Bay-directed series of Transformers movies has become known as much for its bad acting as its impressive lineup of cars. As filming just started for Transformers 4, Bay's website has confirmed two new cars for the next installment as well as a makeover for everyone's favorite tractor trailer hero, Optimus Prime.
Joining the cast of T4 are a "race-inspired" Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. While Bay's website did not supply names for either car, Bugatti is reporting on its Facebook page that the Veyron will join the Autobots. Speaking of the good guys, top Autobot Optimus Prime is getting an all-new body based on a Western Star with a gaudy appearance that was seemingly inspired by Trick My Truck - right down to the six smoke stacks and side pipes!
GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts
Wed, 27 Feb 2013There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
