Reluctantly, We have decided to sell our 1955 Chevy Sedan Delivery. We have a 55 BelAir and were planning on having His and Hers 55 Chevys then I found a car that was similar to one I had in High School so we bought that one and are letting this one go. A body-on restoration was done June of last year (2013) and is almost complete. We have decided to do a buy it now or best offer listing rather than an auction hoping for a quick sale and are not trying to make a killing on the car.

When we bought the car it was just the body. No engine, trans or interior. Here is what has been done so far:

Rebuilt 350 C.I. Chevy small block with a mild RV cam. (429 lift 288 duration). New Radiator. New Be Cool electric fan (puller). New adjustable temperature control for fan. New upper and lower ball joints. New inner and outer tie rods. New bushings. New front and rear shocks. HEI ignition. All new wiring from front to rear and under the dash (Classic Update kit from American Autowire). New bumpers front and rear. New Flywheel, Clutch, Pressure Plate and Throw Out bearing. Muncie M21 4 Speed Transmission. Hurst Competition Plus Shifter. New U Joints front and back. New shift linkage bushings. Rebuilt Starter. Rebuilt Quadrajet Carb. Rebuilt internal regulated Alternator. Edelbrock Performer intake. New Weatherstrip kit.  New Windshield and new glass gaskets front and rear. All new Custom interior (carpet, headliner, door panels, seat foam and upholstery, insulation etc. Set of 4 American Racing "Daisy" mags with a set of new BF Goodrich Radial T/A Tires.

Here is what needs to be done to complete the car:

Passenger side Wiper Arm. (turns out I had two left hand arms but no right hand arm). Car needs a pinion seal on the rear end. Needs Heater Hoses. Heater motor works but needs to be hooked up. Dome Light electrical needs to be hooked up.

The kit from American Autowire has provisions for: 3rd Brake Light, Air Conditioning wiring, Power door locks and power windows. Other power accessories.

If you have interest in the car we would love it if you would call us before making an offer or buy it now so that you can make an informed purchase.

My Phone Number is (801) 562-0315. Please call between the hours of 8 AM and 8 PM Sunday thru Saturday Mountain Daylight Time.

Shipping is at buyers expense for out of state buyers. I will help facilitate this with you. Within the State of Utah, I can deliver the car for you anywhere from North Ogden to Springville. Please feel free to come and inspect the car or have someone inspect if for you prior to purchase.

A $500 Deposit is required at time of purchase or acceptance of offer. Any payment other than Cash: Car will not be shipped until funds clear the bank. I will sell in U.S or Canada.

Sorry Folks. I forgot to add that there was some rust in the rockers and the Driver and Passenger floor pans that was fixed by the previous owner.

GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC

Sun, 06 Oct 2013

American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.

GM adds 1,200 jobs at Detroit-Hamtramck plant

Thu, Oct 22 2015

General Motors is making a big move at its Hamtramck, MI, factory, announcing it will add a second shift and hire over 1,200 workers within the next several months. It's expected that by early 2016, the factory will employ over 2,800 workers to build the Chevrolet Volt, Impala, Malibu, Cadillac ELR, and by early next year, the new CT6. According to GM Hamtramck spokesperson Courtney Zemke, 40 of the 1,200 positions are for salaried employees, while the remainder will be hourly positions. As for where these employees will go, positions are being made available across the factory, so GM isn't focusing on any particular area for its new hires. It's a similar story behind the hiring surge itself. GM said in its press release that the "second shift is necessary to meet forecasted market demand," a position Zemke reiterated. It's a matter of demand across the plant's portfolio, rather than any one particular product seriously outstripping supply. Naturally, the United Auto Workers is happy with the move. "The workforce at Detroit-Hamtramck is second to none," UAW Local 22 Shop Chairman Don LaForest said in the attached release. "We appreciate the opportunity to expand our UAW-GM family." Hiring is going on now, with the second shift slated to get underway in early 2016. GM's Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly to Add Second Shift and More Than 1,200 Jobs Plant will nearly double its workforce by early 2016 2015-10-22 DETROIT – General Motors is nearly doubling its workforce at Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly by adding a second shift and more than 1,200 hourly and salaried jobs. The addition of a second shift will increase the plant's workforce to approximately 2,800 people when hiring is completed. The second shift is necessary to meet forecasted market demand for the five cars produced at Detroit-Hamtramck. "This is the result of the award-winning vehicles Detroit-Hamtramck produces and the confidence GM has in our team to build world-class quality for our customers," said Plant Manager Gary West. Second shift hiring is underway, and the shift is scheduled to begin operations in early 2016. "The workforce at Detroit-Hamtramck is second to none," said UAW Local 22 Shop Chairman Don LaForest. "We appreciate the opportunity to expand our UAW-GM family." The 4.1 million-square-foot Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly opened in 1985. GM has invested $1 billion in the plant over the last six years, making it one of the company's most-agile manufacturing facilities in North America.

First-edition Detroit muscle raises millions for charity at Barrett-Jackson

Mon, Jan 19 2015

Amidst all the classic metal crossing the auction block each year in Scottsdale, AZ, Detroit automakers have a tradition of donating the first examples of their most enticing new muscle cars, with the proceeds of their sales going towards worthwhile charities. This year, Barrett-Jackson handled three noteworthy examples. The highest price among them was the first Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang with the VIN #001, which raised $1 million for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. General Motors donated the first new Chevy Corvette Z06 Convertible, the first retail example of the droptop supercar garnering $800,000 for the United Way. Along with the Z06, GM also donated the first new 2016 Cadillac CTS-V sedan, which brought in $170,000 for Detroit's College for Creative Studies. Although these were the headline Motown muscle machines furnished by the automakers themselves, they weren't the only vehicles auctioned off for worthy causes. A 1950 GM Futurliner bus donated by collector Ron Pratte led the charge when it brought in $4.65 million for the Armed Forces Foundation. Other lots included a custom Jeep Wrangler donated by SEMA ($85k), a new M5 donated by BMW ($800k), a '79 Oldsmobile Cutlass Hurst ($140k), '39 Cadillac LaSalle C-Hawk ($410k), Jeff Gordon's 1999 NASCAR-spec Chevy Monte Carlo ($500k) and a Victory Cross Country 8-Ball motorcycle ($180k). All told, the charity lots raised over $8.7 million for local and national charities.
