You are looking at probably the best 1955 2-door sedan in the country. This car started out as an original 11,000 actual mile car that was purchased by a Chevrolet product development engineer. The car now has just over 12,000 miles. He proceded to take it completely apart, installing a new Del Ray Interior, installing a brand new LS-1 engine (in 1998), Brand new in the wooden crate Rock Crusher Muncie 4-speed, and a Currie 12 bolt rear end. Front disc brakes were added, new lines, fuel tank, aluminum radiator, as well as NUMEROUS NOS GM parts he located in GM warehouses. Some item found were NOS grille, bumpers, windshield wipers, 59-60 Impala 4-speed shifter as well as the M-22 Rock Crusher. This car is unbelievable and even has the original red primer still on the floor pans. The door jams, inside the trunk area, and the firewall STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL PAINT. Sorry no spare tire or jack. Notice the rivets on the side of the hood as well as the ones on the underside of the front fender well. It was repainted with the original color Lacquer paint and drives perfectly. I have owned this car for over 15 years and only showed it once at Goodguys in Charlotte where it won an award, being picked by one of the track operators as the car he most would like to own. 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.

GM files to trademark name Badlands
Mon, Feb 23 2015If you've been hoping for General Motors to come out swinging at the Ford F-150 Raptor, we've had some tantalizing news for you of late. Last month we brought you a report that indicated GM has trademarked the name "Z71 Trail Boss," suggesting a potential hardcore off-roader. Now it seems the General has filed for a potentially even better name. That name, as our friends over at GM Authority have discovered, is "Badlands." The application, filed on February 16, indicates that it's for a truck, but of course it doesn't specify just what form it would take... or for that matter, under which division it would fall. So we could, in theory, be looking at the nameplate for a Raptor rival from Chevy or GMC (like the 2011 Sierra All Terrain HD concept pictured here), or for some other trim level, a concept truck, a special edition... just about anything. Heck, it could be for a Vauxhall, Opel or Holden for all we know at this point. Or GM could choose not to use it on anything at all, but here's hoping it'll emerge as something awesome in US showrooms sometime soon.
