The list goes on. I have all reciepts for parts, pieces, labor etc. As any car project, it got out of control.
You can drive it now and and finish the small stuff while you enjoy.   No tire kickers, brokers or scammers please. With all do respect, if you're a car person and really want to purchase a '55 Chev, I will be happy to answer any questions.   I will tell you everything that has been done.         Reciepts say much more as usual and I realize my loss is the buyers gain.  Two things that are not perfect are a slight fitment issue when hood is down and latched.  There is a slight gap on passenger side seam, could be a fender adjustment or shim needed.  The back seat cushion was trimmed  slightly too much by the upholsterer to allow for wheel tubs.  Wasn't noticed until assembly. Other than those 2 items, it's a great car to drive and enjoy. I've tried to represent this honestly and truthfully.  I realize there is some small work and some expense to be done along with no fancy tires & wheels, I have taken these items into consideration in choosing my reserve price.  I am located 30 minutes north of Mpls  or 45 minutes NW of Hudson ,Wisconsin.

To answer several questions I've added pics of the hood fitment issue. Also pics of the over trimmed rear upper seat back to accommodate the tub.  As mentioned a leaf spring pocket kit was added to lower rear end. I did the best I could on the pictures. the welds are very good and the work was done by a "Professional " hot rod shop here in Mpls. area.  TinMan fabrications.  They have a great web sight that shows their pride in building street rods.

I've had 2 questions already asking "What do you want for the car ?"  Answer :  It's and auction with a modest reserve,  please bid with in your means and the market will decide.    Feel free to ask more questions.

Hot Wheels Camaro to make big debut at Indy

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

Chevrolet handed over the keys to 33 Hot Wheels Camaro Convertible Indianapolis 500 festival cars this week. Race directors get the luxury of driving the droptops around Indianapolis in an ongoing tradition with roots all the way back to the 1960s. The stunt is supposed to remind area residents that the Indy 500 is right around the corner. The cars are our first look at the special Camaro Hot Wheels Edition in convertible form, and they are slated to head to dealers after a one-time production run. The cars also represent the first time in history full-size Hot Wheels have been offered for sale by an automaker.
The cars will be available in both the previously seen coupe bodystyle and this convertible configuration, and will feature metallic blue paint and special wheels with the iconic redline accent. Buyers will be able to choose between the V6-powered 2LT trim and the V8-powered 2SS guise.
Hot Wheels says the original Custom Camaro toy was one of the original 16 1:64-scale diecasts, and it remains one of the company's most valuable collector items today.

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.

Corvette Stolen In Detroit Returned To Owner After 33 Years

Wed, Jun 25 2014

A Detroit man had his stolen Corvette returned 33 years after it disappeared while parked on one of Detroit's main drags, according to ABC 7. The last time George Talley saw his 1979 Corvette was on a July day in 1981, when it disappeared from its parking spot on Jefferson Avenue in Detroit. He had given up hope of ever seeing his car again, until a phone call from AAA brought his sporty ride home. Authorities had come across a Corvette with a questionable VIN in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. When they ran the number Talley's stolen car report came up. The car is still in pretty good shape and only has 47,000 miles on the odometer. Talley wasn't sure how he could get the car back home, but General Motors stepped in and agreed to cover the cost of bringing the 'Vette home. Talley has always had a passion for Detroit-made muscle cars. "I've always liked Corvettes. It was attractive. The ladies like 'em," Talley told ABC 7.
