2-SPEED POWER-GLIDE TRANSMISSION. I HAVE A CLEAN TITLE IN MY NAME & I AM THE THIRD OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE.
THIS CAR WAS BUILT IN MARCH OF 1955 IN ST. LOUIS, MO &
WAS ORIGINALLY SOLD IN RICHARDSON, TX IN 1955 AND WAS A TEXAS CAR FOR MOST OF IT'S LIFE UNTIL I PURCHASED IT IN 1998 AND I RESIDE IN THE KANSAS CITY AREA.
AS FAR AS MECHANICALLY THE CAR STARTS, AND RUNS GOOD, I HAVE INSTALLED A NEW BATTERY AND HAVE REBUILT THE MASTER  BRAKE CYLINDER & ALL WHEEL CYLINDERS ARE NEW.
THERE IS A SMALL LEAK ON THE TOP OF THE RADIATOR, BUT VERY MINOR LEAK. THERE IS A FEW GLASS ISSUES ON THE VEHICLE,
THE WINDSHIELD HAS A CRACK ON THE DRIVER SIDE FROM TOP TO BOTTOM BUT WINDOW IS STILL SOLID & SECURE, THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WINDOW HAS SOME CRACKS IN IT, AS WELL AS THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR WINDOW HAS SOME CRACKS BUT I HAVE AN ENTIRE REPLACEMENT DOOR WITH GOOD GLASS THAT COMES WITH THE CAR. FLOOR BOARDS ARE GOOD, THE INTERIOR IS ORIGINAL THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE BENCH SEAT IS WORN AND I HAVE SEAT COVERS ON THE FRONT AND BACK SEATS, AND THE BACK SEAT HAS A SEATBELT INSTALLED IN THE CENTER.(IT WAS FOR MY GRANDKID). THE DASH IS IN DECENT SHAPE AND ORIGINAL, AND OVERALL THIS CAR 90%+ ORIGINAL AND WHEN REPLACING ANYTHING I ALWAYS USED OEM PARTS.
AS FAR AS THE BODY GOES, THERE IS A FEW ISSUES, THE HOOD HAS BEEN DOG-EARED, DUE TO THE HOOD BEING SPRUNG OPEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING(THAT WAS QUITE A FUNNY EXPERIENCE!!LOL)-SEE PICTURES, BUT THE HOOD DOES SHUT AND LATCH CORRECTLY. THE CAR SOME SURFACE RUST SPOTS AROUND THE VEHICLE AND ABOVE THE FRONT LEFT HEADLIGHT THERE IS A SMAL HOLE THRU THE BODY AS TYPICALLY SEEN IN THESE MODELS. TRUNK IS SOLID. ALL THE DOORS SHUT VERY EASY AND ARE HUNG RIGHT!
THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR ONLY OPENS FROM THE INSIDE HANDLE DUE TO A LINKAGE ISSUE I HAVE YET TO ADDRESS.THE SPEEDOMETER IS NOT HOOKED UP & THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN THIS CAR IS GOOD, BESIDES THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS NOT WORKING. Smaller Cars Endure Big Problems On Crash Test

Wed, Jan 22 2014

In a crash test of 11 of the smallest cars on the market, only one vehicle received an acceptable rating. The rest received marginal or poor ratings in the study, providing evidence that supports a widely held notion that smaller cars are among the least safe on the road. No other vehicle group has performed as poorly on a new crash test than these mini cars, says the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the nonprofit group that conducted the testing. The latest results of which were released Wednesday. The Chevrolet Spark was the only car earning an overall "acceptable" rating on the small-front overlap test, and even that vehicle had its shortcomings, IIHS said. "Small lightweight vehicles have an inherent safety disadvantage," said Joe Nolan, the senior vice president for vehicle research at IIHS. "That's why it's even more important to choose one with the best occupant protection. Unfortunately, as a group, minicars aren't performing as well as other vehicle categories." The Mazda2, Kia Rio, Toyota Yaris and certain Ford Fiesta models all received "marginal" overall grades on the test, while the Mitsubishi Mirage, Nissan Versa, Toyota Prius C, Hyundai Accent, Fiat 500 and Honda Fit all earned "poor" ratings. Results from these sub-compact cars fare much worse than vehicles sized just a little bit bigger, IIHS said. Among 17 cars evaluated in the small category, five earned "good" ratings and five more earned "acceptable." Only introduced a year ago, the small-front overlap test has quickly become a key indicator of differences in automotive safety. IIHS introduced it as a way to replicate what happens when the front corner of a vehicle collides with a tree or utility pole at 40 miles per hour. In the real world, these sorts of accidents are more dangerous than others, in part because they bypass the front-end crush zones on most cars. Without a grade of acceptable or better, they cannot qualify for the IIHS' overall Top Safety Pick+ honor, given annually to the safest models on the market.

Thanks for keeping us on our toes, Detroit Auto Show [w/poll]

Wed, Jan 14 2015

Here at Autoblog, we love unexpected debuts at auto shows – and judging by our Detroit Auto Show comments and traffic, you do, too. Surprise reveals have been fewer and farther between in recent years with so many ways for vehicles to be teased or leak out, but this week's show has been a revelation. More to the point, it's been a series of revelations, with automakers from around the globe successfully delivering a brace of concept and production surprises. It's made our jobs a lot more exciting and challenging this week, and even though it's actually more work to react and run-and-gun when the sheet is pulled on a surprise reveal than it is to publish an already-written embargoed story, we've had more fun covering this show for you than any domestic show in memory. We hope you've enjoyed the surprises along with us. To that end, borrowing the words of an unnamed automaker PR flack, we'd like to thank the following automakers for enduring "mountain of antacids" and that "creeping sense of paranoia" necessary to keeping ones' wares totally under wraps until the sheets are pulled off the sheetmetal: Buick Avenir concept Chevrolet Bolt concept Ford GT concept Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Hyundai HCD-15 Santa Cruz concept And while we're at it, we'd like to throw in an shout-out to Detroit's substantially revised and revitalized Cobo Center, and in particular, the redone Michelin media center, which is arguably the single best accommodations for writing show stories that we've encountered on the entire international circuit. Well done, everyone. Thank you, and keep the surprises coming. Auto News Detroit Auto Show Buick Chevrolet Ford Hyundai Volvo 2015 Detroit Auto Show

Race Recap: 2013 Twelve Hours of Sebring, cakewalk up front, grindfest out back [w/spoilers]

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...
