THIS CAR HAS AN OLDER RESTORATION BY AN ELDERLY GENTLEMAN WHO MADE IT LIKE THE ONE HE DROVE WHEN HE WAS A BIT YOUNGER. HIS DAD WAS A MECHANIC SO HE ADDED SOME GOODIES.. THE RESTORATION IS SHOWING A LITTLE WEAR BUT IS IN VERY NICE CONDITION. SOME AREAS COULD USE A LITTLE ATTENTION.
I PURCHASED THIS CAR ABOUT A YEAR AGE FROM A GUY IN TEXAS(IT HAS A CLEAR TEXAS TITLE). HE TOOK IT IN ON TRADE ALONG WITH CASH IN A FARM EQUIPMENT DEAL A FEW YEARS AGO. HE DID NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THIS CAR EXCEPT IT HAS BEEN IN TEXAS MOST OF ITS LIFE.
THE ONLY PLACE I FOUND ANY SIGNS OF RUST AND A LITTLE PATCH WORK IS IN THE FLOOR PANS.
IT HAS THE CHEVY 235 ENGINE WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. I CANNOT TELL IF EITHER HAS BEEN REBUILT BUT THEY BOTH ARE IN EXCELLENT WORKING CONDITION. IT STARTS RIGHT UP, RUNS WITH PLENTY OF POWER AND SHIFTS NICE.
IT COMES EQUIPPED WITH A FACTORY POWER STEERING SYSTEM IN EXCELLENT WORKING ORDER.
ALSO, A NEW SET OF HEADERS(KIND??) AND , OF COURSE A NEW DUAL EXHAUST SYSTEM.
AND... AN OFFENHAUSER INTAKE MANIFOLD WITH A PAIR OF 2 BARREL CARBS ATTACHED.
PAINT IS NICE.....A GREAT DRIVER AND PARADE BUT ONE LITTLE SPOT STARTING TO BUBBLE A BIT AND SOME CHIPPING WITH TOUCH-UP.
ALL GLASS IN EXCELLENT AND CLEAR.
I WOULD KEEP THIS EXCEPT I ALREADY HAVE A 4 DR BEL AIR IN 100% ORIGINAL CONDITION AND NOT NEEDING 2.
CAR IS FOR SALE LOCALLY SO I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION AT ANY TIME. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CALL ANYTIME TO DISCUSS THE DETAILS AND PRICE.
I WILL BE ADDING SOME UNDER BODY PICS ON MONDAY WHEN I RETURN.
BUYER RESPONSIBLE FOR PICK UP AND/OR DELIVERY.
THANK YOU FOR LOOKING.

The Volt Dance had precedent; meet the Chevy Footlockers
Sun, Dec 14 2014Marketing in the auto industry can get weird sometimes – really quite bizarre, in fact. For example, remember the Chevy Volt dance from the 2009 Los Angles Auto Show? If not, a group boogied to a song about the electric car, and it was every bit as awkward (and hilarious) as that sounds. In fact, that innocent bit of promotion lives in infamy, as some pundits grabbed hold of it during General Motors' bailout and asked why America's tax dollars were going to such things. The Chicago Auto Show has been digging through its vault of vintage videos, and it has come up with something that might actually be worse than that Volt-themed routine. They're called the Chevy Footlockers, and they're a dance troupe somehow promoting the Cavalier at the 1988 Chicago show. The connection between the car and their routine is unclear, but it's gloriously cheesy in a Chippendales-meets-AC Slater sort of way. Also, there are props towards the end, but we aren't going to spoil them for you, because you just have to watch for yourself. As a bonus, there's another (brief) clip below showing a female dance group with the Geo Tracker at the '91 Chicago show, and they sing, too. Scroll down to watch both of these oddities. Peter Max staring down $1M lawsuit over Corvette collection sale
Wed, Dec 17 2014Pop artist Peter Max recently sold off his collection of 36 vintage Chevrolet Corvettes – one each from 1953 to 1989 – for an undisclosed amount. The new owners have already announced plans to restore some of them and auction the models off sometime soon. Up until then, the sports cars had been languishing in various garages around New York City for decades and were caked in dust and grime. However, Max's end of the transaction has just become more complicated, because two men are suing the artist claiming he employed them to complete the deal first. The men allege that Max hired them to broker the sale of the 36 Corvettes in exchange for a 10-percent commission, according to the New York Post. They claim to have emails and text messages proving the existence of the deal, and are taking Max to court for $1 million over the squabble. The collection of Corvettes was amassed in 1989 as part of a prize package from the television network VH1, and Max bought the cars from the winner intending on using them for an art project. He never got around to it, though, and parked the sports cars around New York, until he finally sold them over the summer.
Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.
