2004 - Chevrolet Avalanche on 2040-cars
Morattico, Virginia, United States
2004 Chevy Avalanche Z71 1500 4x4. It has just about every option except Navigation. I'm the second owner of this vehicle. Below are some of the features: Only 75k miles. Mostly highway for family vacation travel. Seats 5+ adults comfortably. Rear a/c, heat and radio jacks. Dual climate control. Full powered and heated leather seats. Satellite radio/OnStar Roof rack. Roof rack attachment not included in auction but may include in the sale depending on the selling price. Bull Bar. Off road lights are on the bar but are not hooked up. Lighted running boards. Puddle lights on the automatic folding mirrors. Excellent condition inside and out. Paint is 9.5/10 (maybe a small scratch here and there but that's it. Small ding on rear bumper) Interior is 9.0/10 (minimal wear on driver's seat. All other seats are flawless) Satellite Radio paid up through 5/15 I believe and I also just added Iphone/ipod integration. Z71 Off road package. Powerful V8 Vortec Engine. 20" OEM wheels with Good Year tires. 2Tires have only been on for about a year. Needs: nothing mechanically. I have receipts for work performed during my ownership. It does only come with 1 key and remote (needs a battery). It has two car alarms set, but the new owner will need to decide on which one to reactivate. Also is due for an oil change. I was going to get it done, but I'll leave that for the new owner in case they have an oil preference. I've always used synthetic. I'd also get the tires rotated. I do that along with the oil changes. You won't find another as clean. I love this truck but I'm downsizing my stable. A lot of truck for the money! Recent maintenance: New front shocks (last week) I also added a brand new battery, recently installed front brake pads and both front wheel bearings. Truck needs nothing so bid with confidence.

Reuss says GM diesel plans are still on pace
Fri, Oct 16 2015General Motors is not going to let Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal ruin its plans for a new line of efficient, torquey oil-burners, the company's Executive Vice President Mark Reuss said at a recent press event. "No way," Reuss responded when asked about cancelling the upcoming diesel-powered Chevrolet Cruze and other vehicles. "The Cruze Diesel is too good not to do it." Slated for 2017, the compact is just the latest member of a diesel offensive that initially kicked off with the first Cruze Diesel and most recently saw the introduction of the oil-burning Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. Reuss also reassured those in attendance that there was "no delay" in development of Cadillac's diesel lineup. Cadillac is working on a line of four- and six-cylinder turbodiesels for Europe. They'd make their way into the US market, too, eventually. "It's a question of timing," Reuss said, according to Car and Driver. Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal has caused automakers across the globe to at least reanalyze their diesel strategy. Jaguar Land Rover, which is preparing several diesel-powered models for the US market, went on record late last month to reaffirm its commitment to diesel. Bob Lutz says Tesla remains 'fringe' brand
Sun, Sep 28 2014We've said it before, we'll said it again: Bob Lutz gives great quotes. From his toilet-themed opinion of global warming to Toyota's deity status, the man knows how to get your attention. His latest? Saying that Tesla Motors is and will remain a fringe brand. Take that, Tesla fanbois. This, of course, is the same fringe company that prompted Lutz and his former colleagues at General Motors to start working on the Chevy Volt around eight years ago. The same fringe company that has easily outsold the similarly priced (but don't call it a competitor) Cadillac ELR with its Model S. Lutz did clarify that the fringe status will only last until Tesla comes out with a mass-market electric vehicle that has a range of 200 to 300 miles. Lutz was on CNBC talking about the TSLA stock's recent performance, and he pointed out that even Tesla CEO Elon Musk says that the California automaker's stock is overvalued these days. Despite its prevalence around these parts, Tesla is not yet a household brand. But the company is working hard to get a cheaper, long-range EV to market in the not-too-distant future, so this fringe thing may not last much longer than that show Fringe did. Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.
